at the beggining, instead of shooting yourself out of the portal to get to the other side....just put a portal on the roof...yes u can put portals on the roof at that part, u made it so much more complicated :)

Actually, regarding getting back to the button after collecting the cube, I've found that if you inch your way forward off the ledge where you collect the cube, you fall to the niche with the button, and all you have to do from there is create a portal from that point and bring the cube with you, instead of moving the cube, porting to the button and then going back, you can save yourself a lot of time and messing around with the turrets.

Almost everyone does the first few parts the same way! I used that random patch of portal-wall on the ceiling to fall onto the platform, and then fell on this block up by it and shot a portal on the area and went from there. I like to think I'm original x3

I use teh camera to knock down the first turret and then you can launch yerself on teh platforms to take out the turrets an then you can shoot two portals on the checkered floor and you cn jump in one from the turretplatform and then you reach the cube without using the sloped wall.

it is easier to hit the button inside the glass panel, make a portal on the slanted wall, jump out into the big room with a huge drop and make a portal before u fall which flings you all the way across the turret room, make a portal on either side of wall and another one in the beginning of the turret room, leave the cube there, get to the bottom side of the other room hit the button and come back to the beginning. i guarantee i did not make sense to anyone, sorry

he does not hack you dont necessairily have a health bar in portal... you heal automatically but die after taking a lot of damage at once

Mabye it's hard for you..... I completed this faster and easier than in this video (although it showed me how to do that last part faster) and only died 3 or 4 times. If you can't do this you have no skill or you're too lazy. Besides, in the video he died multiple times. Those must be some pretty lame hacks.....

Easier way to get across... Open from first button, portal the platform, run backwards and fall and portal.

Assign keys to quicksave and quickload (I use F5 and F9, respectively). Makes it so much easier.

Can also hit a portal on the opening angled door, quick run back past the button and jump down to the lower platform outside the turret room for an easy, one-portal fling all the way to the box. Nice move sliding down the wall like that though.

hmm, i made it a different way. i grab the first tower like this guy, but i grab the others too. this is a little extreme (some triple portal shot while flying, etc..) but work and no turrets no problem :)

Taking out the turrets isn't too hard, just takes a bit of trial and error to hit them. Once they're all down you can leisurely cruise over to the button on the platform. Hit the button, portal back up to the top. Make a portal on the diagonal surface. Ride the platform back (quickly), make a portal at the bottum far platorm and jump into it from the platform. Simple. Once you've got the box you can ride the platform home again.

I didn't bother killing any of the turrets either. I used the fling to get to the bottom chamber with the button instead of portals. Didn't figure out how to kill the turrets until yesterday, which makes this a lot easier.

thats what i did and i didnt realize u could jump from bottom of button i made portal back and made big jump to the right of where u first walk into problem room..... no i got stuck with a cube and nothing to do with it!
