OMG! I can't WAIT!!! I only have this on VHS but I don't have a vcr so I can only watch it on Youtube... so I can't wait to get this on DVD/Blu-ray!!! Absolutely my favorite movie of all time and I'm getting it the first day it comes out!

I love this film but i hate that its 20 years old. It reminds me i'm getting older! its 20, and so am I. Its always my favourite EVER disney. I love the song and ADORE the dress! Who doesn't?

I'm gonna try to get the Diamond Edition of "Beauty and the Beast"on the very first day it comes out, just like when a friend of mine got the 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition of "Pinocchio" when it first came out in March of last year!

awww this is the most wonderfulmovie ever! I r'member this pretty old guy at a adult party lol, he could play a few instruments and we were dicussing music, and he said, "The most beautiful tune I"ve heard however, is Beauty and the Beast" and everyone, even the guys, agreed.

@oopaulorafael sounds great, but the recent movies don't really have the magic of the old, I mean, look at Hannah Montana, disney's official movie last year. And Princess and the Frog was too modernised. A simple fairytale would more than suffice you know.

Yes, I read news that the film will be re-released in 3D Digital in his 20th anniversary.

The S. Queen is about the struggle between good and evil as experienced by a little boy (Kay) and girl (Gerda).

The title character is the main antagonist, who kidnaps Kay. Gerda goes for his rescue.

Fortunately, it's planned to be 2D animated!

@kungfoo86 Disney has been releasing a bunch of multidisk sets that include both the blu-ray and standard dvd version. It seems that's the case here. That's convinient if you're thinking about blu ray in the future because you can have the DVD now and not have to buy it again because you'll also have the blu ray.

but it won't be until November that they release just the dvd by itself, which sucks :(

i have this on dvd but i wanna now get all my disney movies one reason is because dvd can get scratched and blu rays have a layer on them so they cant get scratched or so i read online

Disney, I beg you. Please release some movies that weren't released on Platinum Edition only a few years ago. I mean come on, I don't mind you re-releasing these again, but could you release some new ones first. Namely the greatest underrated Disney Classic THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME. Please, me and many others want that very much and would greatly appreciate it. We get it this and many of the other ones were more successful, but don't ignore a real treasure.

@SLPIFan You can get The Hunchback of Notre Dame on dvd still. They still carry it in stores. Beauty and the Beast, however has been out of print for some time. The last time it was released was around 2001, so nearly 10 years ago. They've been needed to re-release this for some time.

If it is in stores than it is rare. I haven't found it anywhere. And Beauty and the Beast came out on Platinum Edition in 2003, so only off by two years. And it's pretty rare to find to but I think I've seen it in some stores. But Hunchback hasn't been given a 2-Disc special edition like some of the other ones. And I personally think it really deserves one.

Odd because The Hunchback of Notre Dame is always on sale at my local Wal-Mart and several months ago I bought it on DVD at a nearby Barnes and Nobles.

F.Y.E also carries it. Don't know why you are having such a hard time finding it.

And to be honest, in my opinion, most 2-Disc Disney DVD/BluRays aren't that great. I can only think of three, maybe four, that were really worth the extra money that promised and delivered.

The Diamond Edition is Spring 2010 and the #D version was postponed to 2011 so that it goes with the 20th anniversary

No - Beauty and the Beast is being released in October, Dumbo is confirmed for March 22nd, Fantasia in May. Dumbo is only a special edition, the others are diamonds.

You are wrong. there is no release date on the trailer of the snow white DVD and its coming out October 5th, 2010. February 12th is when the 3D version comes out.....your information is incorrect

Disney announced a switch in the lineup.. as in the release for this film on DVD.. so it is March 9, 2010 for B&TB on DVD and October 9, 2010 for Fantasia/Fantasia 2000. The info is correct.

yep, that's true....the studio confirmed that it's going to release BATB in 3-D in 2011 to coincide with the film's 20th anniversary. they want it to be like a huge event.
