I had the same problem with my 16mm scope lens. A Boush & Lomb lens with a fixed minimum throw distance of about 20'. And distance less than that won't focus well.

What kind of Cinemascope lens is on there & which model of Bell & Howell autoload is running? Nice to see a film in scope!! There are prints out there that are not faded reddish however. I hope that you can find one....

Nice ironing board! :) Btw, if you put a green filter in front of your lens you will eliminate most of the reds.
