  • Been on this series, amazing. Took it from Tokyo to Kyoto. So fast, clean and quiet.

  • looks like the dragon from "the never ending story"

  • I gave the EDS "concept" to the US Dept of transportation.

The US developed it and then gave it to Japan.

(Under the reconstruction Treaty we made with them after the war.)

I was awarded $20,000 via the "Inventors Fund"

The money was placed in the federal reserve bank.

I wasn't able to keep the appointment I had to pick up the money .;and so it's been there for years....and unless the President himself orders someone to find it for me.... I'm out of luck.

  • High speed train

  • fantastic train

  • This thing looks like a penis on acid

  • Thanks, God, I had a chance to travel by this hell machine!!! awesome!!!

  • 私はこの電車の中で投げた

  • After riding on these splenid machines last summer, I am convinced America has fallen behind, being gladly propelled by the talking heads of Faux News instead of these electrically propelled trains. However, thanks for rejecting your federal funding Florida, I hope we'll make good use of your share here in the Evergreen State.

  • @soshmed100 shame on u this is nothing todo with whale and dolphin whatsoever.

  • I like it.

  • Wow I have been on it before, not sure if it was this exact model but it is very very fast. Took me awhile to get use to it compared to the slow trains to London in the UK lol

  • Damn, fifteen long cars. Thats insane.

  • @JackGtarHappyHOurSho *slaps knee*

  • Japanese mind!

  • this train is 400m long

  • Beautiful ! IT's like space shuttle on track with no wings

  • One of the most exciting experiences of my life was my trip on the Shinkansen in 2006. It makes air travel seem quite mundane by comparison. Great video!

  • no doubt ! it is Super Impressive Scientific Art !! it proves that Japanese are second to none

  • 1300 seats type?

  • how long is this??

  • 400 m = 1312 ft

  • Its already doing 180km/ph by the time its lenght is past the platform!

  • @stegatops

    how do you know?

  • fucking Knight Rider train!!

  • I lol'd as soon as the train entered. It looks like a giant nose. That or either a giant Somalian forehead.

  • lol

  • At first, I offer my condolences for the victim of this incident.

In Japan, we have the law about the safety operations of shinkansen.

The shinkansen's track is the off-limit zone such like a restricted area in the airport. If you enter the area, you are under arrest. And, you are arrested if you throw the object against shinkansen.

Furthermore, most of track is a overhead track - and the entrance to the track is protected by the tall fence(with barbed wire) and a strong lock.

  • Well, Russia is Russia and Japan is Japan!!! Shinkansen 44 years of fantastic service and 0 accidents.

  • Lol, seriously. Oh no everyone, a fast train derailed in Russia! Don't ride the Japanese high-speed trains!

    Utter rubbish.

  • ive taken this train last year, wow, it was amazing,

  • Great!

  • what a long nose.

  • nakasakay n aq dyan'yehey!

  • how many cars?

  • 16 cars in total.

  • @yoichi5 16 Cars in the JR N700 Series

  • Damn, I really have to visit Japan anytime soon

  • Wow, 14 carriages excluding the front and back.

  • WOOOOW how it is long??

  • about 400m!

  • fatal :-)

the front of that train looks like a dragon face :-)

  • Comment removed

  • the shape of the front is one of the key to reduce

the air resistance, vibration and noise.

its the essence of the study of comfort and safety from 1960's.

  • wow that bad boi is long man for such a fast thing its huge

  • The shape of the face of N700 is the most suitable shape for the air resistance mechanics.

The shape of this face does the same role as bird's wing.

    The name is [Earodaburuwing]

The tunnel can be passed at maximum speed.

Moreover, the curve can be passed with 270kph by the vibration control suspension.[Semiactivesuspension]

It is a technology only of Japan.

    SuperExpress N700

  • @ka14507

    Thank you for the explanation.

  • Hmm. Not a patch on the 500! I can't get used to the "duckbill" nose. But I guess that's progress.

  • oh man I miss Japan trains

GO train in Toronto slow as my shit

  • f**k thats long

  • These trains accelerate kinda fast

  • I can say your almost clect like this カメラ テレビ but we dont say クルマ we say 車 plonans is same

    ああ、すごいですね。。。しんかんせんは、とてもはやいです。Oo

  • motherfuxking zipper heads

  • how old are you? I've only heard people that grew up in the 70's say that.

I'm not trying to be offensive I'm honestly curious

  • it is not chinks \(^。^)hahahaha ⌒∂⌒

  • chinese cant never make things like this high-tech.

Oh now they have Chinese Shinkansen bullet trains. But its besed on Japanese JR technology.

    lol

  • i'm curious as to how a person back in the days of the steam engine would react seeing such a magnificent train.

  • think about this steam trains are not ancient technology just got out dated. =) only 85 years ago steam trains where the only thing ont he tracks.

  • Looking back at some of the earlier pages of comments is most entertaining, I can tell you. Good heavens above. I bet you never thought when you posted a video of what is, essentially, when it comes down to it, a train, that it would lead to such in-depth philosophical discussion.

    :-/

  • nothings impossible in japan! thats why i love it here, very peaceful country!!

  • We also make robots xDD.

  • man, how do they get the trains to come in time with like 5 secs to spare? they have excelent train systems

  • there is a system of time checks and speed checks between point a and b, and at each station the trains stop at. in that way, the train driver can speed up or slow down in order to meet the correct timing.

  • JR East has COSMOS (Computerized Safety, Maintenance and Operation Systems of Shinkansen), JR Central and West have COMTRAC(Computer aided Traffic Control System) and JR Kyushu has SIRIUS (Super Intelligent Resource and Innovated Utility for Shinkansen Management). Everything is under control.

  • Yes, by an centralised computer system!

  • so noiseless and streamlined ... really wonderful! a dream of unbelievable beauty and massiveness...

  • and EUROPE can only dream about this too

  • długi ten pociag strasznie

  • USA can only dream about THIS .

  • dont get so serious mate!

  • but wuth +130 dollar crude oil

    Think about it

  • how is driving environmentally friendly than mass, public transportation? US is the country that still drives Hummer around a block to buy some grocery goods, while Japan...well I dont even how to explain how efficient their cars are.

  • gee that was a lot longer than i was expecting.

  • 16 cars! :)

  • so great!!it's so long...

  • It's Japanese..

  • lookin at this train one thing keeps poppin up in my mind over and over.

  • xXd6y8j4Xxはちょっと黙ってなよ、小学生か?

    Hold your tongue!>xXd6y8j4Xx

  • Fighting about technology? I have a deep respect to western countries because Japan learned a lot from them for the past 150 years. I believe many Japanese people think in the same way. I hate to say which is better or which is worse. Why not just enjoy looking at fast trains? Though I personally prefer slower local trains...

  • westrivertiger, I agree with you. I'm sorry but I'm not a guardian here but xXd6y8j4Xx is so young that he is just ignorant about the world. He must study harder at school instead of screaming blue murder here.

  • WE INVENTED THE POTATO AND THE LETTER M

  • Why did you people thumbs downt my comment?

You don't like the maglev or something????

  • Yeah, and come to think of it, we invented the pencil, zipper and light bulb too. Stop using those at once!!!!

  • If you want to be less obtuse, turn off your computer, pick up a dictionary and find the entry for 'humor'. Might do ya some good pal!

  • Well, It is kinda hard to tell from the text if you are joking or being serious.

  • Like I said, 'OBTUSE'!

  • @ xXd6....

you know nothing about Germany, so I advise you, don´t speak about things in other countries, when you are not informed about the truth. Thank you.

  • For your information, i lived in Germany for over 6 years. Don't tell me that i don't know what i am talking about.

The Euro system is not working out for Germany

and everything is too expensive and many people cannot afford to pay rent sometimes.

  • you are right, but by globalization we got a higher share of the world market and Germany is a bigger export nation than Japan.

Many German banks have loans forgiven in the United States. Now we have the surprime crisis everywhere, because the American market is collapsed. Bavarian banks are interrupted. They would not spend money for the Transrapid near Munich today after this crisis. That´s the reason.

  • Most of the world's technology is imported from Japan though.

  • Yes, you are right. Germany and Japan are very similar. I admire the adjustment, courtesy and discipline of the Japanese. Lovely too, that your train and subway stations need no police and have no graffiti.

  • Thank you (:

But it would be very nice if the German Teenagers were not so nasty and gangster and harrassing people on the streets. I ran into that a lot.

  • That's China that gets no holidays and tiny payment stupid.

Japan doesn't do cheap labor. We just love what we do.

  • @xXd6y8j4Xx I don't know why they thumb you down. The maglev is very fast and kills the bullet train.

  • A maglev of Japan uses the superconducting technology. It differs fundamentally from a maglev of Germany.

  • That's a lie because the Maglev is more advanced than germany's little transparid..

  • the maglev is germany's transrapid!!!

  • the transrapid is a monorail not a maglev!!

  • Rubbish. The idea of a linear motor dates back to the early 20th century, which was when the first patents were awarded - to Germans, by the way.

The setup of the JR-Maglev looks very different from the Transrapid, but the essential basics are quite similar: one set of magnets to propel the train, another one to guide it. Only that with the JR-Maglev the track is shaped "around" the train, the Transrapid is built "around" the track.

But anyway, I'm sorry to interrupt this flame war with facts.

  • 私このデザインとても好き。

  • Look at the windows

  • lol i did that the whole time. Did the video loop or is it really that long?

  • How can you compare a subway to a bullet-train? Makes little sense to me.

  • it looks like a crocodile

  • it reminds me the flying dog in "the neverending story"

    greetings from Italy

  • But a very advanced and sleek crocodile!

  • No one cares what you like better, Japan's trains are clearly more advenced than any train in america!

  • ↓反日?

  • ぜんぜん違うでしょ...

  • ごめん...

  • ごめん...

  • 非常に美しいビデオおよび素晴らしい列車

  • This train is about 400 meters long

  • So advanced is Japan that these futuristic, ultra-fast trains are something they just regard as "regular trains"... Amazing... Simply Amazing...

  • Yes, Japan is amazingly advanced, and you can see that by how far George Bush's "America" (Jesusland) has fallen back into the dark ages. They've banned so much science now, maybe in 2012 these religious nutjobs will just vote their "dumbocracy" back to the bronze age. (and to be clear, I'm an American, I've been to Japan... lived in China... lived in France, and many many other places, and after coming "home" to Bush's "Jesusland", I can honestly say that I HATE IT HERE. These people SUCK.

  • you know... they will never suck as hard as Geneva's government. HERE is where al qaida should put their bombs and i'm living there. But IDIOCRACY is just an illusion for the illuminatis and more massons to pursue their plans. Have a nice day, Earth citizen ^.^ !

  • americans are just too scared of fucking everything.

    not unfriendly people, quite contrary.

just they'd rather hide behind ignorance and live like babies, than face real problems.

  • I'm Amazed at Rail Technology of Japan...

  • simply amazing.

  • You idiot, this video isn't edited. Bullet trains are known to be very long. Their the fastest and longest trains in Japan.

  • That's one crazy looking train.

  • Very aireodynamic!
