Great Parry Skills but, its not as hard when you know it's coming. Not taking anything anyway from this though as I am no where as good as this in parrying. Being to read and parry is a lot harder IMO though.

because I have their tourney videos...and they're not good at all, they actually suck, those attacks that were being parried are predictable, unlike a tourney where attacks are pretty much unpredictable...on top of that, for each parry, he had to try like 50-100 times before he got it right...you don't have 50-100 chances in a tourney :)

@monkeyman212 Because the compression of the video when it's uploaded to Youtube makes it so sometimes it doesn't show those frames where they change color. Same reason for how a bunch of matches uploaded on Youtube that have Yun either show him as a walking blue block or normal color when he activates his Genei Jin.

For one, you can't do it on the fly.

You can't do it consecutively against multi hit attacks like Denjin hadoken.

You have to wait for him to attack (or dash out) after you absorb one hit.

Parries are quicker, and designed to make quick reversals possible.

if you look closely there are times when he gets hit when he's blue parrying, to show that auto parry is not on. also you can not auto red parry.

I can just imagine how hard it would be to switch to sf4 after getting so good in this game. Its like being pro in melee and playing brawl were everyone is equal. Similarly in this game parrying supers clearly showed more skills from one person to the next. Now in sf4 its like ooh he is the air let me just super him knowing he can't punish and parry me if i miss time my attack.

focus is amazing, jsut takes some time to get. use it to basorb then smack, or to cancel a special. if you have 2 EX bars, do something like a flaming shoryuken, then immidiatly press focus. and you will cancel out. you can be parry amazing with focus, trust me. jsut be careful!

Well I think I can say that this video is valid and here is why I think it is. If you look at 1:07 you see he starts parrying Chun-Li's supper standing but then goes and parries the the rest of it low. Auto-parry once started will parry only in that direction, it will not switch by itself. But regardless this kind of stuff is RARELY ever seen in pro matches and is usually a bad choice to try and do to begin with unless your opponent is really that bad.

This is not auto-parry. Their are 2 things that happened in this video that auto parry does not do.

1. Auto parry does not down parry, seen at 1:10.

2. Auto parry does not full parry Oro's projectile super art.

What is the best way to prove the person doing these vids isn't cheating by using auto parry. I love seeing these videos but if I if they are cheating it takes away from the video considerable. Seeing the few parts where the character gets hit after parrying is one obvious sign of it are there others as well?

OF COURSE auto parry is on. Ever realize that he doesn't have the time on and when he does, NONE of them are past 60. That's because auto parry practice mode ONLY gives you 60 seconds. None of it started at the beginning of the match with the word "FIGHT".Red parry in auto mode; just block and then release block. That's funny how he said in the end to prove auto parry wasn't on, akuma got hit on some of them, all you have to do is an attack or just hold forward then your player will get hit

Something I just noticed does make sense of blocking then releasing, he's "parrying" but still taking chip damage. When you parry, you take no chip damage to give the defender a fighting chance against loses due to chip. This isn't the case in the video. Look @ Wong vs. Daigo @ EVO, if Daigo was to take any chip damage during the parry string, he would have lost.

They only take damage if they are blocking a special move or super not when they are parrying. I don't know where you noticed "Parrying and still taking chip damage" from. Look at the exact time they are blcking a special and then watch the life while they are red parrying.

In prac mode or against cpu i'm not keen to parry but at local arcade i tend to just be at a hieghtened state where i parry alot.

I can't red parry well but i wish i could as it gives your health bar more energy the more you red parry as apposed to the blue parry that just gives your special bar a bonus. anyways... great clip... i lay my hat down to you dude.

You don't know anything about third strike. If you did you would understand parrying in practice mode is predictable, while fighting against someone is COMPLETELY different. Mike Z made great vids for MVC2 but was horrible at playing . Only some of the rare pros are really good at parrying. they don't just stand there and parry, most of them advanced their game. Instead of pressing down kick together they press down and then kick so if the other player attacks it would parry and then attack.
