I'd have to be totally smashed to eat that dogshit. Sure, it's quick & easy but for fuck sake, any type of food is meant to taste half way decent. It's not too bad if mixed with mustard or pesto, but on its own, it can fuck up the hardest of stomachs. Otherwise, get a Pot Noodle. They taste pretty crap too, but it's the lesser of two evils & don't taste too bad if mixed with mild chilli sauce.

I knew I wasnt hallucinating about Smash being a "Cadburys" branded product. When a child recognises a brand logo (esp Cadburys) its hard not to think its anything else but chocolate. Having pestered my Mum to buy "Cadburys Smash" and then being served this on a plate I was one pissed off 3 year old.

When I toured the cadbury factory in Dunedun new Zealand I asked the lady tour guide if they ever made mashed potato and she looked at me as if I had just ask if I could stick my dick up her arse. Of course potatoes are full of vitamin C. If they are made from potatoes fresh from the garden, there is actually slightly more vitamin C in a plate of chips than in an orange.

However, the Vitamin C in Smash was added artificially, when it became clear that a lot of the product was being consumed.

Nutritionally, it is not a bad product at all. Very consistent in texture, unlike the real thing, I find.

Another famous story from the same era is how the cardboard BOX containing Kellogg's Cornflakes actually had more vitamins and minerals than the cornflakes themselves. That's when the step was taken to fortify the corn mash with artificial vitamins, just like smash.

The ordinary kinds of bread are fortified(folic acid, thiamin) and margarine too, although I can't remember what it is for sure.. (vitamin D?)

The music is "WHEELS" by the STRING-A-LONGS. It is most remembered as the signature tune for a well-known muscle man called Tony Holland, winner of Opportunity Knocks. The robot is imitating him in a way.
