"it does set the stage for manned landings on the red planet."
Ya but why would we want to go there? Nothing we can do there that we can't do on the moon. I would like to see a manned station on the moon and I would also like to see all the junk cleaned up on the surface.
I watched the same feed, as apprehensive and excited as they were. YES!! Textbook perfect! It just doesn't get any better. A lot of people will be sleeping tonight better than they have for years, and grinning.

It's funny. Xenu's name is etched on the CD that landed however L. Ron Hubbard's name was not. }:-}

Whereas it is not a lunar landing with men aboard, it does set the stage for manned landings on the red planet.

I think the Lunar station is part of the manned Mars mission plan.

This really isn't that difficult. All it takes is the right ball bearings,a few fetzer valves and some gauze pads.

I can only imagine the feeling they all had when it touched down... 5 years of commitment all coming down to a few seconds...

As bystanders, we are amazed and thrilled. You are right on. What devotion and foresight.
You see them breaking down in tears. A blip on our radar has been their life for so long.
It's great and I take my hat off to them.
