dear y your name should change though, ervs are not proof of macro-evolution anymore than dna.there are 98000 ervs in the chimp.we share only 16 of them
you would think given the long time for hominids we would share half or a third not
A god could have created things as in the bible/torah ect... BUT if he did then he shure tryed hard to make it look like things evolved over billions of years and share common ancestory.
@Yahweigh you are right, however there is no evidence of macro-evolution just a long time for the generations past.Read Gerald Schroeder's the science of G-d and his sequel the face of G-D for a thoughtful proposal for your objection.
EPIC FAIL !!! The Bible specifically states the sun splitting the darkness is ONE DAY. Sun comes up, sun goes down...one day. That's 24 hours. You fail. You have to lie and ignore your own writings to put foreward your argument. Read a science book.
@rabbichaimmoshe Are you REALLY that stupid ??? REALLY ??? Fuck on a stick you gotta be kidding. Genesis 1:3-6. "There was morning and evening. One day". If you can't read that, you truly are the reason religion is so screwed up.
@TheThunderduck you dummy it doesn't say what you said-does it say which light or what kind of light?what source of darkness?you misunderstand and then curse-cuss your own ignorance.
@rabbichaimmoshe why do you believe? honestly, how can you possibly believe what you are saying? religious people like you need to be put in asylums. you are crazy. you are wrong. accept that fact. do you really believe in a man in the sky?
none of the advances -polio vaccine jet engines or cell phones required evolution as their basis.
as to viruses and immune systems, we know that these things are designed that way. furthermore unless you are from royal rife's group, viruses are still that-viruses,not protozoa, not seedlings or verterbrae.they are still the same basically
for the supposed 2 billion years they have been around.ever seen a viral monkey?
why did the human evolve, maybe it was to kill an animal using a stick and it could kill the animal more easily then the not fully formed human. so it is just a matter of time until the not fully formed human will die as he cant compete with the human.
@rabbichaimmoshe You completely missed my point. The scientific method works. We see proof of that all around us in our modern lives in the form of vaccines, jet engines and cell phones, to name a just tiny few. Scientific method works in all fields, including evolution. In fact, evolution is hugely inter-disciplinary, and these disciplines come to support each other. To think that the scientific method suddenly DOESN'T work, simply because it counters religious though is childish and naive.
All I hear is "the Torah doesnt specifically say". We know!! It doesnt say anything specific. Therefor you cant conclude anything. Science is based on hard testable facts. Science tries very hard not to make wide general arguments so you can then say "well we didnt specifically say this or that". This video is entitled "just the facts" - you havent stated 1 scientific fact from the Torah. You need to read a little more widely than 1 book my friend.
@shagster1970 the Torah says G-D created the world in one instant. that is a scientific fact. it was debated first by socrates then einstein who did not want a beginning to the universe.that would imply a creator
which is what hubble proved...for starters.there are many others
@rabbichaimmoshe Wow. What ramblings. Firstly I think you mean the universe? Because the earth was certainly NOT created in an instant. Hubble didnt prove the universe was instantly created. I'm not sure what article of fantasy you read there. Einstein never said he didnt want a begining of the universe because it implied a creator - THEISTS made that up. So back to zero.
@shagster1970 why is the world not the universe? clearly you don't know much about einstein. he opposed the big bang as this implies a creation rather than a continuous universe.hubble proved that there was a beginning to the universe. the one who postulated that was a cleric but the observations cemented it.you are at zero for you don't want to acknowledge anything you don't like.einstein spent years trying to defend the solid-state universe btw and admitted he was wrong.
@rabbichaimmoshe But I dont want to continually correct you. I am interested in what involvement G-D (I'm not sure why we cant say his name - does he even watch Youtube? I'm sure he has other things to worry about. Like giving AIDS to babies in Africa.) If the basis of evolution doesnt exist - why dont we all look like Adam and Eve?
I hear many rationalizations to make timing fit, dismissal of important details as irrelevant, and then a completely ignorant discussion of geology. So I just had to quit. You spent years of your life studying for your calling. You are a Rabbi. It makes absolutely no sense for you to come into a multi-disciplinary scientific field like evolution and pretend you know anything. You haven't a CLUE how much you don't know. This is just ignorant hand-waving.
@erkq the discussion about geology is from rav Avigdor Miller's books in which he quotes geologists chapter and verse. if you have a refutation be specific and if it is wrong i will correct it
@rabbichaimmoshe Avigdor Miller was many amazing things. But he was not a scientist. To think you can understand a multi-disciplinary topic such as evolution by quoting geologists is akin to thinking you can learn to design a fighter jet by folding paper models. The scientific method depends on a world community that educate, corroborate, critique and collaborate in each other's life-time of work.
@erkq my dear friend i knew rav Miller and he studied all the sciences before he became a Rav and had a marvelous appreciation for all truths.
again start with a point-yes i haven't had science cources in a long time but i understand the matters very well. evolution is a theory based upon nothing.it is not observable or predictable. it is after the fact interpretation.
@rabbichaimmoshe I'll limit my response to just one point: The body of knowledge you have to turn your back on to say evolution is not observable is staggering. Just a few examples: antibiotic and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) resistance to drugs, plant and insect resistance to pesticides, rapid changes in invasive species, life-history change in commercial fisheries, and pest adaptation to biological engineering products. You're just making stuff up, but that's what Creationists must do.
@rabbichaimmoshe "i haven't had science cources in a long time but i understand the matters very well. evolution is a theory based upon nothing.it is not observable or predictable. it is after the fact interpretation."
You know scientific terms, but you don't think scientifically. You certainly dismiss whatever you wish. Scientists don't dismiss data. Data is not dismissable in science. Stick to fooling the children in Hebrew school.
@rabbichaimmoshe Claims that geologists are flummoxed by strata upheaval is akin to claiming the designers of the Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engine don't understand fluid dynamics. It's childishly absurd. Depth and complexity of knowledge is so far beyond these baby-steps that it takes a scientist years of undergrad, grad and post grad work before they can make meaningful contributions to a very specialized part of their field.
@rabbichaimmoshe Evolutionary knowledge is interdisciplinary. It involves geology, yes, but also physics, biology, genetics, chemistry, and astronomy to name just a few. To argue this subject by asking me to refute quotes in Avigdor Miller' books shows a complete lack of understanding of the amount of knowledge academia has amassed on the subject. Out of context or incomplete quotes are irrelevant in assessing the truth of evolution. It's far, far more complex than that.
@rabbichaimmoshe Talk about statements with "no proof", that one takes the cake. Yes, of course. Results of scientific method are "laughable". Materials science that gives us the power- section fan blades for jets we ride in every day is laughable. You know, those 7 inch blades that cost as much as a family car and produce 900hp? Polio's gone as a result of laughable scientific method too. Oh, and that cell phone everyone uses... laughable. All laughable proof of scientific method working.
@rabbichaimmoshe Absurd statements ending in "period" are not magically true. I have no idea who your "scientist friends" are, what their credentials are or how well their work survives peer review. I, too, have many friends who are scientists. Ever hear of Dr. Marcy, Berkeley astronomer who discovered the first extra-solar planet? Friend. Dr. Nelson who worked on the Manhattan project? Friend. @lnTheFlesh the word taninim hagdolim means great serpents=reptiles from water. the birds were made on the same day and although they weren't made from the water they were not from earth as were the land animals of the 6th day
@4:57 you state that the Torah does not state things which are irrelevant to our moral existence. However -- and I need to quote bible scriptures because I am unfamiliar with the Torah books (but I assume its the same as the old testament) -- lets review some "moral" sentiments in the bible:
EXO 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
PSALM 137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
@arp76 the meaning of the first verse is that even in war the vengeance is done judiciously and with compassion.this is referring to when G-D intervenes not when man causes war.during the the flooding of the chariots, those who were more evil were dealt with more harshly than those whose evil was less.
as to the expression of grief-the Babylonians actually did that to the Jewish children. In asking for vengeance for their suffering the exiled express the hope that evil will be repaid in kind.
Rabbi, at 2:02 you mentioned that Evolution states "things happen by themselves", to which your answer is that it is impossible.
