  • I´m glad that i´ve found you folks around the internet. Thank you for the answers.

  • fab! each one is beter than the last. i love the attention to detail.

  • And the Actress performin the enemy is great.

  • @picolodaemao The lovely BarBara Luna, who (besides lots of other stage, theater and tv work) you may recognize as "The Captain's Woman"/Marlena Moreau from the TOS episode "Mirror, Mirror"

A total pleasure to work with her and hang out with her. She instantly became "just another part of the cast & crew", ate her meals with us (often feeding us all the extra stuff we're pretty sure she intentionally bought for us), hung out with us and helped keep good vibes riding high on set - even till 4AM.

  • If you people do this for fun. What you do when you mean bussiness?

    Awesome.

  • @picolodaemao Drink even more coffee to even better prepare us for the 16-20 hour days? ;-)

    Much thanks from us all!!!

  • Absolutely great work..some of the best (if not THE best) fan made sci -fi i've ever seen ...awesome work on nailing late 60's studio lighting and color that the series used..i wish somebody would do this with the 78 BSG series..btw i know that you are re enacting Shatner's Kirk but with the hair and the looks it makes me think a little of Jack Lord (who turned down the Kirk role) but had he taken it he probbaly would have looked very much like your Kirk (kind of cool)

  • @TheVardiss22 MUCH thanks on the lighting comment!!! It's rare when people really notice that; but I usually try to take that as indicative that I've done my job correctly... get it close enough to the original that no one notices (since people usually notice such things when they are wrong).

LoL on the Kirk hair comment. Alas, it is of course that hair (and James' talent as an Elvis impersonator) that helps pay a massive portion of the bills... I don't think any of us thought of JL before now

  • I think it is wonderful that you folks are doing this ... and I will donate to your site. The quality displayed for a production made without the resources of a major studio, especially regarding the sets, is impressive. Two suggestions though ... slow down the dialogue. You may notice the professional actor guests you have on give their dialogue with a slower and more subtle timing. And between dialogue, crank up the soundtrack. It was always a very powerful element of the episodes. Thanks!

  • Wow. What happened to "Travel faster than light, no left or right."?

  • FANTASTIC!!!! I applaud your empowering yourselves to create them...and thoroughly enjoyed the episode *(my first introduction to your genious)! The beautiful lady that played the villianess is really good, btw...I thought I was watching one of the originals. She's a great actor! You've all got the characteristics down. Thanks-and I've posted to facebook, turned my brother onto your episodes and am watching more right now! BRAVO!!! :*D

  • @starlightbeing Thank you! That was of course, the lovely BarBara Luna playing Alersa... it was truly wonderful working with her!

  • may i share this on my facebook ? if not thats cool too

  • @CaptainJellico1701d PLEASE do.

To ANYONE, feel free to link to our website or the videos in my channel here. HELP SPREAD THE WORD!!! LoL!

  • liked that you used the original music from the tv series

  • Really, well done. Best fanvids out there.

  • Wouldn't Bones have stopped to check if the redshirt was still alive?

  • @ddpresearch07 Lacking a big part of his heart and lungs, probably not. :-/

  • Hell, this is better than that stupid Star Trek movie that came out a few years ago.

  • lol who are these people?

  • @snuffythegrand1 I'm the guy you can't see, right off screen... as for who the rest are, visit our website to find out more about us. The link is in the video description.

  • THIS IS AWESOME

  • @Richiepookinshoo Thanks from all of us!

  • Robert is right.

While this epp may have a beginning starting with the CBS logo.

Robert and his team are not allowed any sales of any DVD under a joint copyright between his team and CBS.

  • epic.

But i am stumped by what this enemy they are persuing have done to that other connie. The USS Eagle.

That armour plating looks like TOS versions of what the borg normaly use in their ships.

  • O and at 21:10? Uhura? If you ever do that again without my order, ill jump over this Captains chair and B-Slap the tone out of your ear!

  • Another great trek episode! They just keep getting better! Thanks to you and your crew!

One little critique, again Kirk leaves the bridge while the ship is under attack? And not for ships business. I just dont see kirk (or any captain for that matter) leaving the bridge while being attacked, unless it was to save the ship or crew. I know Spocks there so that kinda helps but still, just to go comfort peter? What about the other poor red shirt who died a few hours ago? peter can wait! lolol imo

  • I'm impressed, as a true fan of TOS who was raised when it was on TV, I think this is good. I like the storyline. Acting a little suspect but good

  • bull shit everyone knows the distortion in subspace was coused by the omega molecule that distabelised and made warp speed imposible indefinitley.

  • The classic CBS logo at the beginning of this episode is appropriate since CBS partly owns "Star Trek."

  • awesome - i realise the kirk actor is an elvis impersonator but please- brown hair!

  • @Robotdrummerzzk LoL, alas, his day job funds a massive chunk of our production budget.

  • @Robotdrummerzzk LoL, alas, his day job funds a massive chunk of our production budget.

  • The love scene with Cawley and Luna was very awkward. In her day, Ms. Luna was extremely hot. But, she's elderly now. Not as fetching as she used to be.

  • @kurtb8474 It was meant to be... the whole "psychomorphic control" thing. Hence the reason why some of her crew are so gaga about her.

  • @RobertMfromLI That must be SOME mind control. They should have made Kirk think he was looking at a hottie (don't worry, I'm not that shallow) and used a young, pretty actress.

  • What i am watching?

  • @ThisisAliFareedshow visit our website (link in description) for more information.

  • wow...great job!! I'm very impressed and think you guys did a great job!!

  • this captain is a right dickhead see him move his forehead so annoying kill him

  • 0:24 - 2:00 No sci-fi programme is complete without at least one quarry-like backdrop.

  • So far the best Phase Two opening teaser yet. Enemy Star-fleet maintains this high standard. But that tapers off later. main

  • @radioflyer68911 Wait till you see Act 3 where...

...oh, wait, I'm not allowed to talk about that yet. Sorry. ;-)

  • I enjoy these videos and loved TOS as a kid growing up in the 70's. I also work in production and have some constructive criticism: Your directors and/or editor seem to be unaware of the 180 degree rule (Wikipedia explains it well). In this episode especially, the line was crossed a dozen times or more, and at least 4 times in the final scene alone. It's really distracting, but easy to avoid. A good script supervisor could help. Looking forward to 4x07.

  • @InformantNet Can you recommend a good script supervisor? That aside, sometimes we have to break that rule - it's not that we aren't aware of it... set constraints often cause a need for it. For instance, some walls in sickbay do not come down, and we can only cheat actors so far the other direction to film.

  • @RobertMfromLI Probably. I understand the limitations of a small set. The key is to work within the limitations of the set and block accordingly. Also, much of this episode was shot from an unusually low angle - I suggest you keep the camera more at eye-level, and use more OTS shots, in keeping with the style of the original. Unsolicited advice, I know, but I've seen all 79 eps at least 15 times, so... (Come to think of it, at 8 hrs/day, that's 5 months of my life. Hmm.)

  • @InformantNet Lots of unusually low angles for the bridge shots in TOS actually. As a matter of fact, there's one in particular (used a lot) that I'd like to duplicate. By "I", I mean, our DP is on board too, but I have to figure out how to make it work within the constrains the bridge imposes - our pie wedges don't slide 30 feet backwards to make room for the crane shot required. I have a plan though...

  • @InformantNet Personally, I like low-angle shots. It helps the characters appear 'bigger than life.' But, I agree with using more OTS shots. Conversational sequences are more interesting when you break up the angles a little.

  • @kurtb8474

    Along with closeups....

  • The Eagle's registry number appears incorrect. Memory Alfa has two listings for this Constitution Class star ship. NCC-1719 and NCC-956. I do like your work and have linked this to several friends. Ms. Luna is still very attractive and am happy she could participate with you. I also watched "Blood and Fire" and recognized Yar from TNG. You and your staff have my respect and admiration.

  • Very enjoyable & i thought Mr Scott had a most strange scottish accent ...lol

  • Thank you for your encouraging words. It's great to hear that many more stories from STAR TREK PHASE 2 will be coming.

  • I almost didn't click on this, glad I did. I grew up on TOS reruns. This was GREAT. Looks like a lot time, effort, and imagination went toward this. I also think I recognize the female villain from one of the original episodes, "Mirror Mirror" or "The Enterprise Incident". I'm checking that now. Anyway you have a new fan. I appreciate the attention to set detail and authenticity. I also like the placement of the trombone mutes on the counter in Kirk's cabin.

  • @MrLibrarycomputer Thanks from all of us!! And yes, that was the lovely BarBara Luna from "Mirror Mirror" - one of the most amazing people to work with!!!

True story: we had a few pickups (kinda like reshoots) to do which didnt involve any of her scenes - but when we let her know about it she offered to come back (to the middle of nowhere) to reshoot a couple key scenes of hers because she thought she could do better and it would give us time for us to be more creative. Amazing and talented!

  • nerd rage.

  • LOVE IT! good job!!

  • @Asspada Thanks from all of us!

  • The guy who plays Chekov is great, he has got the understatement down pat.

  • @ma049 Johnny is a true pleasure to work with too (like the rest of the cast and crew, lol). He spent a bunch of time studying the role, the part for the episode and more! He even sat down with Walter Koenig to find out what Walter thought made the character (ie: he wasn't trying to emulate "Walter the actor", he was trying to learn what made "the character of Chekov" - what elements people identified with the character).

And he only gets better in upcoming episodes. :-)

  • When will the next episode be released ?

  • @tonkertoy313 "The Child" will be next - but alas, I am not yet at liberty to say when. You can find out the release date ahead of time by keeping an eye on our website, or subscribing to its RSS Feed (assuming you do that whole RSS Feed thingy).

Let's just say though... it (the release announcement) is getting real close. Not this week or anything... but the announcement won't be too long from now. ;-)

  • What's with Rand's wig?

  • @TheCanseco1 We've since restyled it a bit. Like some of the other hairstyles, it was to look closer to the aborted Phase 2 series look... alas, some of that doesn't quite seem what's expected - like Xon's and Peter Kirk's hair, which is very much like some of the test shots from the aborted series (the whole 70's big/lotsa hair look). ;-)

  • i watched star trek 2009 and if i am not mistaken james cawley has a cameo

  • @luigi19987 You are not mistaken - you see him at least twice.

  • I just don't like the guy who plays Chekov

  • @JunsnipesS266 Sorry about that - we do. ;-)

  • where can you buy star trek phase 2 dvds ? i saw it on special feature of star trek 2 wrath of kahn, im collecting all star trek shows and movies now, havent heard of it before, checked on ebay but cant find any to buy ...

  • @SpeedManiac1976 Hopefully, you cannot. If you do find someone selling them, please contact me through our website's "Contact" page.

You can download the videos via our website though, and (for your own personal use) burn them to DVDs using programs like Nero or iMovie or dozens of others.

  • @RobertMfromLI

i dont WANT downloaded movies, i buy ORIGINALLS on dvd , and i CERTAINLY do not burn dvds !!! if i see a burned movie on dvd i inmediately break it into 2 pieces !!! and if i ever get a copied burned dvd from ebay or something then i give them a big fat negative , i hate movie-copiers !!!

unfortunately i cant find them on ebay nor amazon, will check the startrek homepage sometime for them , they should exist on dvds somewhere though but cancelled old series hard

  • @SpeedManiac1976 Hi, I think you misunderstand me. We cannot make DVDs for sale. Part of our agreement with CBS. Thus, if you find ANY, it means they are pirated copies - which will make both CBS and us very unhappy (we have to abide by their wishes).

So, the only way to have DVDs of our episodes is to burn them yourself - or find bootleg copies that CBS or us haven't stopped from doing so. Any that you find for sale are illegal bootlegs. Neither Paramount, CBS or us has ever made or sold any.

  • @SpeedManiac1976 The permission that Phase II has with the copyright owners is that they cannot sell, or offer for money, in any way, the episodes that they make. This makes sense as copyright must be protected.

  • @Andrei613

then in THAT case i dont even WANT to watch it, in other words what your saying, its a mock, a made rediculous series or something like that, nevermind then, then i aint gonna watch it, i checked at the startrek homepage too, not mutch mention about it, only as books or something, i thought it was a lost series that failed or something, wanted it to add to my collection of star trek originall, voyager, deep space 9 and enterprise ... thanks for info & all , but not 4 me

  • @SpeedManiac1976 Well, in which case, you will be missing some very good work. The Phase II episodes are very good, and are done very faithfully to Classic Trek. As you've been told, Phase II CANNOT sell their work, because Trek is *copyrighted*. CBS is being very nice, as they would be within their legal rights to shut down ANY fan group making ANY Trek based projects. I've watched all of Phase 2, and I was watching Classic Trek for 40 years.

  • @Andrei613 Yep your loss. This is really great work and can only get better. I certainly enjoy watching this and im just as big as ,if not bigger of a trek fan than you. But if its not for you, than its not for you.

  • the hairstyles on the men are funny but the music/special effects are dead on like the 60's star trek.Peter is so sexy and the sl is cool.

  • @jwsm2 LoL, the hairstyles in the 60's were kinda funny though. Hopefully, that's the "funny" bar we achieved.

  • Are there any actors in this show?

  • I think "McCoy" is wearing a tribble on his head.

  • is this really by CBS

  • @robregD03100282 No, that is in homage to CBS. It is by us. Check out our website for more information - you'll find the link in the video description

  • You guys are awesome! The set is perfect, the music is authentic and well edited, the special effects are better, the script rings true, and the acting is at least on par with the 60's original. Just one thing...what's up with everyone's hair? It looks like everyone needs a hair cut. The dorkey blond vulcan, the nephew with the mullet...really? Just nit picking though guys, really awesome. I've only watched one episode and I'm hooked. Keep it coming and good luck!!

  • @jimmer1969 Well, those are the 1970's hair styles that were planned for the aborted Star Trek Phase 2 series. If you search Google for "Star Trek Phase 2 Xon" (without the quotes) and click on the "Images" tab/link, you'll see the hairstyle they had planned for him. Our Xon actually would need to grow his hair longer to get that look. ;-)

  • Bend that alersa over a table teach her some federation manners...LOL.Enjoyed this gents thank you.

  • whats the name of the last esp they show on this one

  • @bigger4life This is our most recent episode - though we did just release a vignette (shot a long time ago) after this. Our next episode will be Jon Povill's and Jaron Summers' "The Child" which is finishing post-production shortly.

  • im really full of questions on this remake of the first star trek arnt i,im full of something anyways, tee hee,but is this lersa whoever played by the 1 who begiled our spock in the first treckie show where she had these dopy dreds do or something?an whats with kirk jr in the pic looking all faged up?later....

  • @DTMENACE62 Nope... wrong actor... but yes, she was in a TOS episode (and many other broadway and TV roles unrelated to Star Trek). That would be BarBara Luna, from "Mirror, Mirror" - she played Lt. Marlena Moreau/"The Captain's Woman"

Peter is looking at his fiance in the picture. If you've watched "Blood and Fire" you will understand the reference.

And of course, you can always email us from the website if you have a lot of questions.

  • Comment removed

  • this is all very good an i have nothing but respect for a fellow trikkie n shit but where did you get this from?

  • @DTMENACE62 We made it. I'm the Line Producer and Gaffer (Chief Lighting Designer) for the series - as well as "The Guy Who Handles All Things Internet Related" (with my cohort in crime and fellow producer Gary Evans).

  • Love the "Lost in Space" sound effect at 42:40. And the "Bewitched" sound effect at 56:29! lol

  • Comment removed

  • Whoever plays Alursa is a terrible actress, but it's an awesome episode!

  • WELL DONE

  • The best Star Trek episode I've seen in a long time. What a tough situation for Enterprise.

  • @30:00 lol

  • Three redshirts go in, how many come out?

  • Pretty cool!

  • I think it's awesome what u guys are doing. This last episode brought some of the old Star Trek back. Kirk uses some of that charm and trickery to save the day. We need to see more of that. In the previous episodes Kirk was more like a stern good samaritan than the swash buckling hero who cheats death in every episode that was Bill Shatner. Obviously these guys are not professional actors but I guess thats part of the whole point of this.

  • @highspeedbowler Kirk had his laid back (and even moody) moments too - as well as the moments where he'd have to choose one bad option over an even worse one. Largely, one can find those in the first season.

  • Wow! I put in a search for Aqua Teen Hungerforce and find this?!?? This episode here is my first exposure. This is incredible! How in the world did you guys put this together! The graphics are very well done, the sets are so faithful to the original.... I think your actors are more true to the originals than the last Trek movie. Man, I'm so pleasantly surprised by this.... Btw, is that really Majel Barret saying, "Next time on Star Trek Phase Two.." ???? Flippin awesome job!!!!

  • @Tronzler Sorry for so long for a response. Thanks very much for the kind words! To answer a couple of questions, we put it together with LOTS and LOTS of effort, sweat and expenses (ugh!).

And yes, that is most definitely Majel Barret - not just there, but EVERY time you hear the computer as well, in ALL of our episodes. She was gracious enough to reprise the role for us, and record a LOT of dialog for the ship's computer.

We are honored to have her son, and to have had her involved!

  • god I hate the fact that they killed freeman. messed up

  • Well Done!

  • chekov kinda sounds german at times.

    lol

  • It's Alive!!

  • Awsome!!! i mean AWSOME!!! Bravo folks.. Bravo!! 5 stars

  • What matters most is they had fun, nobody got hurt, and their parents knew where they were and what they were doing;

  • @MisterIanPickering "where they were and what they were doing" - well, I won't get into the antics at the campfires then... ;-)

No seriously though, we do truly enjoy making these - even with 18 hour days (sometimes more), often in blistering heat (the transporter set can get over 100 degrees, and the bridge can take as much as 22,000 watts to light - gets hot!!!).

But, we've all gained a second family, and have a blast working the long hours together! :-)

  • Wow, I love it.

  • What the fuck is this shit?

  • This was better than any of the star trek movies using the original crew! Can these be gotten on a DVD?

  • @tubesman7 No, sorry. Though you can download them and make your own DVDs pretty easily.

  • @RobertMfromLI - DVDVideoSoft is good free DVD Creator.

  • 45:14 cougar trick...lol

  • she is a straight bitch...

  • Bravo on another great episode!

  • bad hair -- other than that, it's really good

  • @CherryONeil

Yes, It's actually is pretty good. They did their homework for the most part.

  • The movement of Kirk's mouth bothers me. Even if Shatner did those, I think it was natural for him, but it wasn't natural for the actor here. Leonard Nimoy has a lot more presence and persona as Spock than the actor here. A Vulcan doesn't show emotions, but it doesn't mean the acting has to be stiff. Starfleet officers don't have long hairs. The other main characters needs more treatment in the script. Apart from all that, those who were involved in creating this video deserve two thumbs up.

  • kneepads.. need kneepads..

  • You guys never cease to amaze me, keep up the good work! But please, stop changing your Spock! XD

  • To the captain and crew of Star Trek Phase 2. Keep up the great work. I have been a fan of greatly told stories of science fiction for a long time. The tales of bravery and lessons learned from the original series star trek live on. Also being a aspiring filmmaker, you are all an inspiration. Live long and prosper.

  • @jameskirk771 Thank you from all of us! We've got many more stories to tell!!!

  • Very well done,i applaud your efforts!

  • losers without jobs hippies

  • ain't bad...ain't good either

  • Interesting use of incidental music from the 1960's show "The Invaders"

  • just getting into this...

  • Phase 2 KICKS ASS!!!

  • More Sulu; Scott needs to brush up on his brogue; hairstyles on the men need some tweeking; sound is a bit tinny; McCoy needs to say "Dammit Jim" at least once per episode

Great sets; great story; great lighting; great camera work; great editing; good script; good costumes; fantastic animation; terrific use of music; overall good acting (some rough spots, but nothing horrendous)...

I rate it a solid 4 stars out of 5... nice work, and I can't wait for the next one!

  • I'll take it over J.J's mess!

  • Gotta say it - terrible, terrible acting. The effects are pretty good - but you can't hide this level of acting.

  • @ams44111 lol i think it is supposed to be like that, BCAUSE SERIOUSLY, ONLY TOMMY WISEAU CAN DO SOMENTHING WORST THAN THAT NATURALLY....

  • Two things bother me about discovering this 1) Man boobs and 2) Long hair; Star Fleet is still a military no matter how you look at it and Regulations will come with this! Troublesome!!!

  • Rule one: Never ever wear red and join security in the old star trek show.

  • Let me guess... you got the girl at the end from Elva in Eragon

  • it s so cool how the eagle mimics the enterprise from the cage!

  • @MrWayne1701 If you get the chance, watch the episode they did that was called "In Harms Way." They recreate Pike's Enterprise down to the smallest detail.

  • One question...Where did you get those sets?!?!?

  • The closest thing to watching a new old-school Star Trek episode I have ever seen. Bravo! Please keep making them. It makes this old Trekkies heart sing!

  • Oh, and by the way..Alursa looks and acts just like Nancy Pelosi!!!!!!!!!

  • Spock is too dry, McCoy's not passionate enough and Mr. Scott's acting and accent is abysmal but.........I loved it. I'm anxious to see more!

  • 23rd Century mullet. I love it!

  • i'd say this is just like the original series, but for one this makes way too much sense and plus the special effects actually look pretty good. XD

  • The godawful hair style on Kirk's nephew...

  • @thafoofa LoL. He's cut it since.

  • @RobertMfromLI That's excellent. It looked so outdated and so out of place among the shorter hair cuts of the other cast

  • DId he say there's 200 people on each one of those Interceptors? They are the size of shuttlecrafts!?!?

  • @Quisquellano26 Midgets.

  • I see that the Enterprise gym is not getting much use..Kirk, Spock, and McCoy are developing some pronounced beer guts...

  • really like the worm hole at 49 minutes. reminds me of when i 1st watched the motion picture

  • this sho issssssssssssssssssss awessssssoooooooommmmmeeeee!!!!!!

  • the desruction of the red shirts really made this a true trek adventure

  • By the way,this is excellent.Kudos

  • Its hard to do.Kudos for the try

  • i dislike scotty simply because of the shitty accent he puts on and kirk.. sort of annoys me with his facial expressions but other than that everything is pretty amazing especially chekov

  • The Chekov/Bones scene is fantastic! A brilliant performance from both actors. Jonathan Zungre is doing a fantastic job with that Russion accent, and John Kelly has the 'gruff country doctor' persona spot on. I'm very, VERY excited about the next episode, these just keep getting better and better!

  • Ok, not bad over all. But a few things. 1. An Andorian captain in Starfleet? Not in the orginal series. 2. Gay characters? Interesting. Never covered in the any of the starfleet shows but you would expect homophobia amoung humans to be overcome by t
