  • I agree. He was my hero when I was a kid going to "The House That Ruth Built" once or twice a week.

  • Donnie Baseball ta ta ta ta ta

  • To bad I never was able to eat at his restaurant.

  • Don Mattingly: a class act!

And anyone who thinks that Jeke's .340 is "not gaudy, gaudy stats" does not know baseball!

  • my childhood hero! Joe Torre out, Don Mattingly in , Please!!

  • I really hope he gets to manage and gets a WS ring.

  • I love Jeets game, but Donny is the best hitter I' ever saw. Great guy in person also!

  • Donnie Baseball...the man. He embodies what it is to be a Yankee.

  • I learned how to switch hit based on his lefty swing. Great stuff. What compact mechanics.

  • An excellent lefty swing to copy!

  • Donnie Baseball Forever!!!

  • mattingly is baseball, the classiest player to ever step on the field..

  • I believe the Yankees are grooming him to be the next manager.

  • I really hope so! He was the Yankee Legend of my childhood and my favorite of all time and it would be great to see him as the next manager.

  • I'd love to see that happen if and when its time for Joe Torre to step down. Being that I'm 24 yrs old Don Mattingly was my childhood hero, which could be a good reason why I never got in trouble either. Mattingly was a great player and a classy one. Sucks his back gave him so much problems.
