I'm sorry if I generalized, and maybe spoke unfairly, but you have to admit that it's a little odd that most times I see someone preaching on TV that they're wearing the finest clothes, in the most luxurious church, and they're asking for money, some call them "faith seeds" as if GOD is sitting in heaven waiting for your credit card information to go through until he acts upon your life to make it better. They are all swindlers in my opinion.

being blessed isn't a sin.. there are some swindlers out there. but who are we to say who is and who's not? my pastor is one of the most generous ones I know and he's pretty well off. actually you know, "give and it will be given back to you" and the bible talks about those who sew generously will also reap generously..

What about those people who can barely afford to put food on their table but are still guilt tripped by these people into giving money to their church. I believe that God wants us to be happy, but he doesn't want a percentage of what you make, What does God want with money anyway?

bandmemberb, your pessimism has overwhelmed you. ive been to this conference and based on your comment i can see you havent. ive been to "events" that have no substance, this however was not one of them. they do teach you to hold on. i have held on. in fact it's only snowballed since. i look forward to going back in a few days.

I don't care for these kind of events. It shows you what you can feel, but rarely ever tells you how to hold on to it once you've got it. People need more than a one time experience. It's a spark that could grow to a fire if they were taught how to keep the fire alive. (don't mean to sound like a pessimist, actually I'm hopeful that someone might show them how)

thats kind of what makes this conference completly different from others - its based around individuals praying and encountering God for themselves, not going on the words of a preacher on stage - they actually encourage people to miss sessions to sit in the prayer room reading their bible before God.
