The basis of nuclear fusion has NOTHING to do with Chrnobyl lol.

Fission usees massive nuclei, which are fragmented into hundreds of differnt nuclei, with many isotopes of those, thats the danger (I131 being the largest fallout danger). Its not Nuclear Fission to blame, its RUSSIA, which did a TERRIBLE job dealing with the crisis

Fusion only uses up to 4 nuclei, H, H-2, H-3, He, Li. H-3 is the only radioactive isotope and its halflife is only 12.3 years (not billions for some fission nuclei)

The tragedy of Chernobyl was from fallout of hundreds of radioactive nuclei, which was not even admitted by russia for days after it happened (aka its not due to a nuclear explosion).

If a fusion reactor were to 'meltdown', H, H-2, H3, He and Li would be the only products emitted to the atmosphere, the concept of fusion is use small nuclei, make bigger ones, concept of fission is use large nuclei, shatter into 100s of radioactive isotopes of many different elements, fundamentally different

yet they have no problem with the dozens of coal miners that die in mine collapses per year,

& yet .. fission produces a SOLID waste,which can be CONTAINED,

& .. a fission reactor can NO LONGER meltdown EVER, engineering design is such that no state of prompt criticality or runaway reaction could possibly occur, its inherint to the design of the core.

Yeh, wind is too ineffective to be cost effective, and solar is self-explainable. Coal, oil, natural gas, etc., these are also self-explanable. Fission reactors are indeed the cleanest source of energy. The last notable leak of radiation from a reactor was TMI-2.

umm remember that with nuclear fusion there is also toxic waste...tons and tons of it.

I'm afraid you have mistaken nuclear fusion with nuclear reactions that are used in nowadays conventional nuclear power plants. The only final product of nuclear fusion, as it's being designed for electicity generation, is Helium which is by no way toxic.

No there isnt, the basic reaction is [n = neutron, p = proton, D = H-2, T = H-3]: D + T --> He-4 + n OR D + D --> T + p --> He-3 + n OR Be-11 + p --> 3He-4 T is bred using Li n + Li-6 --> T + He-4 OR n + Li-7 --> T + He-4 + n Li is natually occuring and highly abundent in the crust of the earth. You'll notice that the only waste products ar He-4 & He-3. He-4 makes up 25% of the universe,is a noble gas, and is completely harmless, He-3 is a non-radioactive isotope. Do your research nub!
