Wow. I have so much to say right now, but I'm speechless. This song moves me so much and the images you've compiled here fit the song in an extraordinary fashion. Surely when God sees this He says 'Well done My good and faithful servant.' At 0:33 where he sings "and fathers weren't meant to leave" resonates deeply with me as my wife left me and our children to pursue a relationship with another, then married, man. They recently had their non-covenant marriage, thus destroying 2 families at once.
we sang this song in our youth group tonight. It was so empowering. the passion, just for God coming from the song, the band, and us kids, it was AWESOME
The power of your name........ love it. God is love , love is Jesus.. we spread the love around.. with open arms... love will overcome anything... God gave us love to show the world that Jesus is not dead he is not in a tomb he is in us.....
The beauty and depth of Christian music can be so moving...like a spiritual call to action. This song makes you want to go out and helpsomeone! "Faith without action is Dead" Now how real is that? Its amazing how knowing the Lord raises your conciousness...to become less selfish and self absorbed and instead take joy in helping the loss and others in need! Praise the Lord...Thank You Jesus!
Surely nations were not made for war. Or the broken meant to be ignored, SURELY THIS JUST CAN'T BE WHAT YOU SAW. LET YOUR KINGDOM COME HERE IN MY HEART!
Surely life wasn't made to regret, and the lost were not made to forget. Surely faith withouth action is dead. LET YOUR KINGDOM COME!
Regarding the slide showing Hugo Chavez - it appears while the song speaks of "love a world that's broken" and I think it's very appropriate there, how better to exemplify a broken world that needs to see Jesus' love through us. This song is amazing, it addresses many of the problems facing society, and clearly points to the only answer to those problems -- the power of the name of Jesus, at work in the hearts of God's people.
So many people don't realize how powerful the name of God is...how Holy He is...how awesome and fearfully amazing our Creator is. Yet we treat His name just like any other...and drag it through the dirt. We should tremble in godly-fear at the near mention of His name, we ought to praise, glorify and love God with every breath He has given us.
poptop22 and mommyrock - well, i guess seeing him might be a shock in a song that's talking about God, and stuff, but lets get over it, please. God has a purpose for placing people like him in the positions theyre in, think about Pharaoh, God used him to show the world that he was the almighty, and someday, i'm sure someday, somehow, someway, God's going to prove that no man is not under his mighty hand.
@mommyrock, I too was shocked to see Hugo Chavez in this video, but the song does say, and maybe it should have been in the part of the song that says: "Only your name can redeem the undeserving." And then again who is "deserving" of the redeeming Grace of God?
Powerful song, makes me stop to think how I need to put more effort into helping others in needs and chilren who are in Foster Care. I also need to show more love for the broken those who don't have a relationship with Jesusl
I've just created a blog as a weekly praise devotional, and used this song/video for the first week. praisedevotion.blogspot.com Great video to an Awesome song!!
I love this song. The message is so good...I've noticed that a lot of Christians seem to miss the point of Christianity. They go to church and pray to God in the comfort of their own homes and neighborhoods, but they never go farther. They look at what's happening and think, "it's not happening to me, so I'll just pretend that I don't see." Jesus came to show us how to love a world that's broken, and this song reminds us not to lose sight of that, even in the hard times that we live in now.
@planes50 I think for a song dealing with social injustice, it's rather perfect to put a dictator. Because in the power of HIS name, not by anything we ourselves can do, even a dictator can be changed. He came to save that which is lost, and don't forget Paul used to be Saul who persecuted Christians. So well done. This video is powerful. If he calls us to reach out to the broken and lost, then those who hate us is a good place to start. (my two cents anyway).
Great song! I'm going to recommend this to our Worship leader. But did anyone else notice the picture of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez? He's not exactly known for his Christian-based philanthropy or charity work.
@ljheesnus Yeah I was thinking of adding the lyrics...I'm going to make another video though, same as this but with the lyrics added. Thanks for the feedback :)
is a slide being used at the end of the song or is it just a really soft touch? cuz when he starts soloing at the end he couldn't do that with a slide on right?
The song spans four generations of Lincoln's family. He wanted the song to be personal. The little percussion sound at the beginning is his son Liam's heart beating before he was born. And the piano at the beginning is his grandmother. How cool is all of that?
Well, dang, I like to make YouTube videos myself and I just heard this song on the radio the other day, but now that I see this video I'm thinking " I can't top that!". This is awesome! Excellent job. Lincoln is the worship leader at a church about 10 miles from where I live, so I get to see him frequently. Lucky me. I only wish Darlene Zschech lived a little bit closer!
This is powerful, my heart is moved. Let's go make a difference in the world
