  • Just love that guy!!!! :)

  • I have 7 or 8 of his plastic body harps. great clean bright sound, I do like MBand for the bluesy stuff. The plastic bodies are a lot easier on the tongue when you play.

  • Say what you want about lee Oskar but this white boy can play

  • FABULOUS :-)

  • The Lee Oskar sound... so unique and gifted.

  • lee oscar is awesome

  • Bob Dylan blows them all away.

  • @hugginsjack Stop trolling please, if you think Bob Dylan is at the height of harmonica skill and exelance then you havent heard more than about 1% of what the worlds best players has to offer.

  • Comparing Little Walter to Lee Oskar is like comparing Johnny Winters to Django Reinhart.

  • fucking maniac!!!

  • Lee played a spanish, soulful blues type hermonica with War. It was awsome shit! But when I heard Walter and James Cotton I was blown away. Isn't the hermonica a awsome instrument? I play one because of these guy's.

  • Playing acapella is very difficult to keep the public interested and Lee Oskar is one of the few harpist that can do acapella and keep the listener connected.

  • Little Walter and James Cotton would blow Lee Oskar off the map. But Lee is awsome all the same.

  • @revnasteewaters57 that is just your opinion sir. to me Lee is an outstanding harmonica stylist. He has its own signature style. what makes each harmonist the only one in the world is its way he or she produces the sounds in his mouth,.

  • @TzzX78 Don't get me wrong I like Lee a hell of a lot. When he was with War it was great shit. But I know who his idle's were. He couldn't lace little Walter's shoe's. But then that's my opion but most hermonica player's that really know will agree with me.

  • @revnasteewaters57 concur but he plays diferent style from Walter. Walter play lots of blues jazz oscar has jazzy mix with his own style.

  • Lee Oskar is playing with Taj Mahal in Seattle at Jazz Alley tonight......just got word from my parents whom I turned onto Taj Mahal seeing him a couple Novembers in Seattle. Love that they carry on the tradition....wish I was there ;-)

  • The best way I can explain the Lee Oskar harps is that they're brighter. I use both Lee Oskar's and Special 20's. I prefer the special 20's for the blues--they're a bit rauchier but for a "cleaner" sound the Oskar's are great.

  • @srcaps I concur I like lee Oskar for its bright and crisp sounds. I love Lee's style..different form Walter or Cotton.. People should not compare harp players such as the above mention. Styles cannot be compared. Style on its own has its own throne.

  • @TzzX78 Totally agree!

  • Lee oskar is a great player, and lee oskar are great harmonica

  • I guess I have been buying the Lee Oscar Harmonica from day one,I remember the first time I jammed on 1 I said Im stickin with the Lee Oscars,They are a sweet sounding harp and dont blowout too easy, only harp that I use comparable is the Misterclause all steel/Aluminum also great sound but cost about 8 times more so I stick with the Lee's

  • its great but a truly mellow tone cant be had with these. a honer special 20,one that has been played a long time will give you a sound that is mellow and relaxing.

  • Yo scasey1960 Re: your post

" I've been using Lee Oskar harps for over 20 years - they are the best! Great tone and they are built to take a beating. Worth the cost. They were also the harmonica of choice for Junior Wells!"

Junior had a long career and for the vast majority of it he wasn't playing Lee Oskars. Lee Oskar's a great musician and makes a fine harp, but you owe it to Junior to get your facts straight.

  • is he the true lee oskar ?? :O .. he looks different years ago

  • @edjoey89 Yes ... That is him!

  • this gives me the chills! Have heard that name 10000000 before, didn't realize that Lee is actually a native dane :-) makes me proud of being danish too :-)

  • where Lee Oscar's harps are made?

  • @Cu1t06 Lee Oscar harps are Made in Germany.

  • @Cu1t06 Wait, my mistake. All of his harmonica's are made by Tombo: A Japanese Company and they are therefore all Made in Japan. No Chinese made crap here!

  • @rawmark ya i already have one. Lee Oscar anniversary. made in Japan. awesome harmonica

  • @Cu1t06 Nice. I gotta get me one soon. I've heard there is zero tweaking you have to do to them when you take them out of the box. Is that true? It's definitely not the case with Hohner but, of course they play amazing after you do tweak the heck out of them. Still Lee Oskar has a few that I want as do Suzuki, Bends and Seydel.

  • @rawmark well you know, its my first harp, so i cant tell. + it was a gift from my fried. i can say that is sounds cool and good for bending

  • Loved War back in the day, imagine my surprise 37 years later only to move in next door to this legend. What a gentleman Lee Oskar is not to mention a great talent.

  • jjjj

  • Now that is how to play, just got a Lee Oskar harp today.. can't wait to try it out

  • lee oscar Vs Hohnner

  • @bemolable hohner hands down .Oscar harps are good but hohner tone is sweeter just my opinion

  • I've been using Lee Oskar harps for over 20 years - they are the best! Great tone and they are built to take a beating. Worth the cost. They were also the harmonica of choice for Junior Wells!

  • Anybody know the tuning he's using for the C blues thing at the top of the video? I think I've figured some of it out through listening carefully but I'd like to know.

  • @RoryHoffmanMusic sounds like a major diatonic

  • sssssmmmmmoooooottttttttthhhhhhh------thank you lee

  • Love the simple amp and mic...when ya got this kinda talent its all you need...Yea..Walkin to New Orleans

  • Great harpin', Mr. Lee. I am bowing.

  • you probably need a hearinq aid!!

  • nice playing

  • The penultimate harp player. Before the Rain has been included in every music playlist i have ever had. He creates some of the most memorable scale runs in history. Loved him with the horns in Was as well. Wish he had more commercial success on the radio so others could enjoy even a glimse of his talents.

  • i got to meet lee in person at the august 7 los lonely boys show ive seen him twice with them he is the most koolest guy ever!!! and i was soo aww struck i forgot to ask for an autograph i was just excited to shake his hand!! he is sooo amazing!!

  • lee oskar was my first harp and still the best one for me...produces a sweeter sound. and last longer. viva lee oskar

  • Don't forget the replaceable reeds...

  • I love his harpin I grew up with him. My brother plays also he was almost as good. Love it! Love it! Love !!!

  • he looks a little sad though maybe he's playing the blues? hmm Chicago or Mississippi delta blues?

I like his harps finally and bought the major Diatonic Harp key of C straight harp at that

  • The key you bought is the key Lee uses for the track 'Low Rider' when he was with the band 'War'. There is just one note at the end of that riff that you won't find on that harp but you can bend to it (as Lee did). Once you got that together it sounds great

  • I've bought 3 of your harps and must say, so far they sound better than any other brands that I've ever owned.

    Great harps!

  • Until you try Seydel mmmm very nice but anyone his choice ofcourse..

  • he´s a fantastic harmonic player! he plays so good!

  • bluegoose555,

I just discovered Lee Oskar's harpin music. It's not old too me. He is still a tastey harp player with his own style. Stop being such a blues snob critic ....just find another you tube link to listen to.

  • very good harpin,iv had lee oskar harps for years and thay just keep on going, and i find thay have better volume than other harps, thanks brobobh for sharing.

  • Lee's a lot of fun to watch when he plays! He really moves around a lot while playing on stage! And here, he seems to be adding his own rhthym section in between playing!

  • ..empty hatred?..I like the guy and respect his playing...as far as this video goes.....I stand by my previous comment..kind of sad...tired

  • (excuse me) Oskar

  • Yea, these harps are awesome, easy to bend, great for anybody, i love em, bought em as a beginner, now i' in between that beginning and intermediate state, and still love em prolly always will.

  • The man,man what a great great artist,i to have been using his harps since about 1990,great easy to get plates AWESOME

  • amazing...i think its shit he has to play alone or promote his product like that but...cheers to lee, the pionner. without his harps i could'nt do what i do. lees have kept me jammin for years with replaceable reeds.

still striving to be like him

  • He makes a very good harp..to me it has a sharp or crisp sound..nice.JC

  • es un grosso, que mas se puede decir?

  • I bought a lee oskar harp when they firt came to town in 83 and you can't read the numbers any more from plenty of use! And I believe that ive played very aggressive from hole 1 thru 10...

  • Thanks for posting! wish I'd been there.

  • ... playing two harps at once.

  • how does he get them low notes?what key is the harmonica i wonder?

  • It sounds like there's another special tuned harp by lee oskar..or maybe its just one that lee is test piloting...I think we can get some answers!
