Weight has nothing to do with it. Babe Ruth ring a bell? Most out of shape individual in the history of the game, but he had great bat speed and made contact. It doesn't matter if your stocky like this guy, or tall and skinny, bat speed and hand eye coordination are the keys to hitting, not weight or strength.

dude, u are a moron. This is Brett Helmer. He is endorsed and sponsored by Easton. He is one of the top softball players in the world. You may be correct that he probably couldn't hit a baseball, but he can hit a softball farther than most baseball players can hit HR's. SO as far as bat speed goes, he's on par with MLB player or better. There is a HUGE difference between softball and baseball, anyone who has played both will certainly tell you the same

Synergy bats are pretty leveled, if you want a faster swing with more weight in your twist of body you hold it like that. plus he's a bigger guy and it's hard to hold the bat with a wider hand placement....

Yes and no.... Dustin Pedroia & Josh Hamilton. It's not brut strength...it's bat speed. Just ask Griffey Jr. He's not all that big but his bat speed is/was off the hook.
