Brilliant! This was the only decent car my dad ever bought!!! Black plastic seats were terrible to sit on in the middle of summer tho! Thanks for sharing it. Brings back great memories. Oscar
I owned a 68 sprint coupe ,twin Webber 40s, were stock ,2 into one exaust, wheels were Rostyle with 185 x13,s ,1905 engine ,and came with a vinyl roof, same model was used in a Charles Bronson film, they were a good performer:
@paky66 Thanks! I've found some technical data on the internet, and it says that originals are 5.80-13", but the spare wheel that was in the car when I bought them is 6.40-13", but mine is Sedane...
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs + injection and tank clean and rustfree
Hello Benny, My dream is one day be a owner of one car like yours, I'm from Brazil and here we have this same car, but here its called "Chevrolet Opala", google it and you will se that Opel Rekord C is the brother of our "Opala".

@v123ak thats because GM (General Motors) is the owner of both the Opel and the Chevrolet, so they look the same. Practicaly, the design is originaly made by Chevrolet...

I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old CIH Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. pekna kara,od jula mam commodore '67 rovnakej farby:)...mam na teba otazocku, nevies nahodou daku stranku alebo miesto kde by som zohnal chromovu listu okolo zadnej masky? dotiahol som to z nemecka a potom zbadal ze listu nema:)
At this time i can´t, but I heared it before this suckers disabled it. :-( But I like that song and I would know the name. Could You tell me the name, please?
thats right, the best cars, i think, were built from the late 50ies up to the early 80ies, and in the 60ies you can see the ghost and spirit from the new awakening especially in the cars.
7 years and it runs? whow, thats quality. btw, 2003 i got a free commo c voyage 2.5E, sat 4 years under a prune-tree :-(( . some gas in the tank, oil checked, battery on, turn the key and after 15 seconds the engine runs like it was sat yesterday. i was more than surprised.
yeah, 7 years, that's amazing :) i have bought it from one collector, and when he bought it, he parked it in his garage, and the car didnt move for a single one milimeter for 7 years. When i've seen it for the first time, the keys were still in ignition :) we started it maybe after 4-5 minutes :) the brakes weren't so good, so we have to drive slow, but it works... ;)
well done, a very good decision. i can imagine that you are so happy, the Reko-C/Commo-A series were one unit, one line from the front to the end, no silly edges and "design-accidents" like some actual cars.
i know the feeling you must have had, i've had the same when i carry my Commo Voyage home, but i was in luck: i could do it on the own axle for 200 Km with no probs, and it was sat for 3 years. Opel forever :-)) ....

TheLarmy 1 year ago
@TheLarmy do you mean original wheels?
BennyOpelSVK 1 year ago
@TheLarmy original dimensions are 13" and 5.5j for the rims, tire size is 6.40-13 (you can replace with 180x80R13 if you can find...)
