Oh I see what you mean now. At first I had to wear a hairnet to prevent water from untangling my hair while still allowing it to be washed. Later on when it/they got hardened I could just skip the net.

Thank you. Yes, that's all it takes. Keep them clean and they'll do it by themselves. Backcombing also works but need that.

but others........are frustrating, some are heaps thin and arent fully locking up, so my mates gonna help me out andjust backcomb parts of em to finsih and start some of it

I use a bar soap to clean the dreads and scalp. Saltwater I use after showers to "quickly" dry my dreads. However, since it's summer I don't need saltwater, haven't been using it for 3 months.
