Windows was at it infancy, while in the development of OS/2 2.0 which was almost done completly by IBM, Microsoft was to create NT OS/2, Microsoft and IBM split way after the success of Windows 3.0 which sold more than Microsoft OS/2 1.3, also differance in API and Approach, Microsoft did not really charge developer for the SDK, IBM charged for its SDK. Second, IBM did many mistake in marketing
@nextstep333 Yeah I kinda realized that. Back then when I made that comment I was dumb. Oh and just a reminder, Windows didn't receive any popularity until 3.1. (And especially once 95 hit the scene.) 1.0-3.0 to my knowledge, were not very successful.
@SonicTheJackrabbit Think again, Windows 3.0 was popular because it was more refined. I remember that Microsoft even had a party because it was really popular but not as Windows 95. Windows 3.1 was like new makeup and perfume.
