Great performance and speech about Dime, to the one talking about Ronnie Van Zant was it, pretty disrespectful to Dimebag to be calling him d-bag don't you think?
this song should be dedicated to ronnie van zant, not dimebag. i love dimebag. but ronnie van zant was the shit, and he was a simple man he sang about.
to stand on stage in front thousands of people, --tearing up--. and not break your voice................man my throat cracks tryin to sing along sober. and EVERY SINGLE TIME he sings this song he thinks of d-bag....one day "45" will be one of those songs...and we'll all cry, cuz it relates to all of us so much deeper than just our contemplations
God you know i seen lynrd skynyrd play this at a show up in michigan and then 2 months later i saw shinedown in florida and they performed it.. I lost it both times... reason is im in the Army and i lost a good buddy to a IED in iraq. When we got to him this song was playing on his ipod. He not only loved this song but he lived it. Family man, damn good friend, and a person that would give you his last 20 bucks on him even tho payday was 2 weeks away.God bless you James and youll always be loved
@baptista31 at that time i was with Fort stewart 3id 4th brigade combat team now im at Hunter army airfield still 3id but just in a cab now rather than a BSB.
i guarantee that he was not only emotional about dime god bless his soul but if you watch a video on youtube he says it wouldnt be right to do it without jasin
i've been a shinedown fan since day 1 and as much as i love this song, it just isn't the same without jasin. his version was more heartfelt than zach's....
This is hard to listen to. I love shinedown but after Jasin left there sound has been different, just doesnt sound like shinedown until this. I would love to see Jasin come back, because Shinedown needs to get back to there roots. There last CD was great but some of the songs were not from the heart, like i am use to hearing from them.
I would have to agree with you on that. Jasin should come back. But i think there's some hard feelings there. I dont really like Zach too much. He just doesnt play Simple Man the way Jasin did. Look up "Shinedown In My House"
@penman1188 especially since they said they'd never play this song ever again cause it would be to disrespectful since Jason is Ronnie VanZandt's son-in-law. hell yeah they need him back man, it's kinda funny that Jason's on tour with Fuel now.
I was just trying to click play and accidently hit the one star rating. Hope it doesn't affect the rating of the video because I love Shinedown's versions of "Simple Man".
Thanks so much for putting this up!!! I was there and it felt good to hear it live again. Brent and Zach nailed it, they had me in tears. Fantastic tribute!
This was my first Shinedown consert, and it was magical. I love them so much and their music. They are extremely talented and I wish them all the success in the future. It was so special to be there and experience this. Shinedown, you guys rock!!!!!
I cried... wow. Shinedown is amazing. I only wish I could have seen them do this live. I had the honor of seeing them when they came to Ridgefield, WA, and I have to say that was the best concert I have ever been to. So much emotion. So much passion. So much talent. Thank you Shinedown for blessing us with your gift.

I think any true Shinedown fan that knows what the band has been through over the past few years loses and gaining members, would be brought to tears, as I was.
