  • Great performance and speech about Dime, to the one talking about Ronnie Van Zant was it, pretty disrespectful to Dimebag to be calling him d-bag don't you think?

  • he has the strongest voice in music right now in my opinion, great song.

  • Happy Birthday Dimebag!!!

  • This song is incredible! I love the way they sing it!

  • <3

  • Wow...that story really is touching. Shows you what a great guy Dimebag Darrel really was.

  • Great tribute.. Dime <3

  • this song should be dedicated to ronnie van zant, not dimebag. i love dimebag. but ronnie van zant was the shit, and he was a simple man he sang about.

  • @bisp25 WELL ITS NOT BRO SO HOW BOUT WE DONT TAKE AWAY FROM DIMEBAG

  • @Bwilsonfitness like i said i love d-bag. but ronnie van zant was it. if he never wrote this song. we wouldn't be having this discussion.

  • to stand on stage in front thousands of people, --tearing up--. and not break your voice................man my throat cracks tryin to sing along sober. and EVERY SINGLE TIME he sings this song he thinks of d-bag....one day "45" will be one of those songs...and we'll all cry, cuz it relates to all of us so much deeper than just our contemplations

  • Brent Smith do what he do best!

  • This wasn't the first time. They played it 2.13.09 in Peoria IL.

  • We miss you Dimebag!!!! Your music will live forever!!!

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • His voice is so freaking good. I like Shinedown's version more than the original from Skynyrd. And that's saying ALOT. Live it's really good 2 :)

  • his song is alway full with emotion i like it so much

  • God you know i seen lynrd skynyrd play this at a show up in michigan and then 2 months later i saw shinedown in florida and they performed it.. I lost it both times... reason is im in the Army and i lost a good buddy to a IED in iraq. When we got to him this song was playing on his ipod. He not only loved this song but he lived it. Family man, damn good friend, and a person that would give you his last 20 bucks on him even tho payday was 2 weeks away.God bless you James and youll always be loved

  • @gypman921

where are you and who are you...my email is baptista31@yahoo.com . 17 years in, deployed (of course), Lets talk.

  • @baptista31 at that time i was with Fort stewart 3id 4th brigade combat team now im at Hunter army airfield still 3id but just in a cab now rather than a BSB.

  • @gypman921

    My deepest sympathy.

  • :')

  • i guarantee that he was not only emotional about dime god bless his soul but if you watch a video on youtube he says it wouldnt be right to do it without jasin

  • that was probally the best speech brent has ever given for this song

  • i've been a shinedown fan since day 1 and as much as i love this song, it just isn't the same without jasin. his version was more heartfelt than zach's....

  • This is hard to listen to. I love shinedown but after Jasin left there sound has been different, just doesnt sound like shinedown until this. I would love to see Jasin come back, because Shinedown needs to get back to there roots. There last CD was great but some of the songs were not from the heart, like i am use to hearing from them.

  • I would have to agree with you on that. Jasin should come back. But i think there's some hard feelings there. I dont really like Zach too much. He just doesnt play Simple Man the way Jasin did. Look up "Shinedown In My House"

  • @penman1188 especially since they said they'd never play this song ever again cause it would be to disrespectful since Jason is Ronnie VanZandt's son-in-law. hell yeah they need him back man, it's kinda funny that Jason's on tour with Fuel now.

  • I was just trying to click play and accidently hit the one star rating. Hope it doesn't affect the rating of the video because I love Shinedown's versions of "Simple Man".

  • dime was a fuking awsome dude, guitar in the brain! awsome tone, iconic!

  • I love a man that is in touch with his feelings!

  • His voice sounded in very good shape again though..

    sounds Promising for the future.

  • jasen didnt play the song *right* either, they came up with there own

  • I love you Dimebag, you were fucking awesome!

  • R,I,P Dime

  • Holy Crap! They are playing it again!

  • I was there as well....one word---GREATNESS!

  • Thanks so much for putting this up!!! I was there and it felt good to hear it live again. Brent and Zach nailed it, they had me in tears. Fantastic tribute!

  • @MandaAnn same here, me and my sister were there. it was fantastic

  • This was my first Shinedown consert, and it was magical. I love them so much and their music. They are extremely talented and I wish them all the success in the future. It was so special to be there and experience this. Shinedown, you guys rock!!!!!

  • Not the same without Jasin. Not even close

  • I'LL second that. Thumbs down me too mother fuckers!

  • I like shinedown. They said they wouldnt do this song again without jasin. Brent lied. Not kewl

  • I cried... wow. Shinedown is amazing. I only wish I could have seen them do this live. I had the honor of seeing them when they came to Ridgefield, WA, and I have to say that was the best concert I have ever been to. So much emotion. So much passion. So much talent. Thank you Shinedown for blessing us with your gift.

  • It was a honor to be there and see it live. They are a group of nice guy's.

  • for all the haters that say brent aint got it no more..this is brent sayn FUK U!!

  • damn right man...hes still the best

  • That's awesome!! Why won't they come to Sweden?! And if they do I really hope that they perform this song :)

    Shinedown 4 ever! <3

  • So much passion and emotion! Shinedown is awesome.

  • My first Shinedown song ever, the rest is history... Brings back the good old times and loads of memories :)

  • These are some great guys who are all incredibly talented and deserve every success !!! I have seen them several times, and this performance Sunday night was electric !!!

  • There really are no words to describe that moment... gives me chills.

  • I think any true Shinedown fan that knows what the band has been through over the past few years loses and gaining members, would be brought to tears, as I was.

  • @suprtroopr2006 i can't see what i'm typiing, i hope i spleled this right, cuz it's so blurry, you can HEAR the pain in brnets voice. just, wow

  • THANK YOU ! :)

sounds different, but i still got goosebumps !

  • this band is badass and has some of the coolest guys i have ever talked to

  • Wow that was amazing.

I saw them play this song for the last time in 2007 and for me i left it as a memory.

But to hear it again and the passion Brent sings it with sends goosebumps.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you for uploading!

  • I wish I could have been there. That would have been an awesome birthday present. Thanks man!!!

  • Thank you for uploading!!!

  • Wow this is amazing, It sounds different with zach rather than with jasin, but Different isnt bad! :)
