David Cook would be amazing in the role of the phantom. He has class, the 'look' and the voice that can gives goosebumps . I've seen the movie version, and I hate to say, as much as I love Gerard Butler...David put him to shame. The high notes were impeccable, and the soft verbrato was amazing. I could..and have...watched this over and over again. I was very, very impressed.

Phantom of the Opera is my all time favorite play, I'm in love with the man who sings for phantom and Music Of The Night is one of my all time fave songs from the play. so I was nervous about David Cook singing it because I was scared he would butcher it. but wow, as soon as he started singing I was enthralled, incredible preformance and I was truly impressed when he hit that big note at the end of the song. so many people sing it a few octaves down and then it sounds wrong, truly beautiful

David Cook is truly amazing. My one (and only one) disappointment of this song is that he had to go up at the end. He didn't have to stay exactly with this song, but I felt that by going up it totally changed some of the feel of the song. I think everyone on American Idol feels that they have to make a powerful statement at the end by showing off how high they can go, when really, sometimes ending on a soft note can have an even more powerful effect.

Awesome job though, I'm glad he won.
