  • When kids talk about ''real rap'' and ''good music'' I only wish they knew this...

  • this was the first time I ever heard of the roots. Love them so much

  • I love the Jill Scott version of the hook, she definetely adds that missing component.

  • the girl is a very good singer but something is missing that erykah badu has.

  • Now my opinion is that every country in the World should have a late night Hip Hop show ... late at night probably... That way Hip Hop could be saved, we all could watch dope 'ish like thees and perhaps... only perhaps there wouldn't be so much crap shit out there! Ya know!

  • man that bass players tone is the bomb...his tone is thick as hell, but it doesn't have a bark, its super smooth...its cool as hell

  • how can you not love the Roots

  • sweet snare! Long Live "The Roots"!

  • Great!!!

  • seriously they got the wrong white folks standing there in the crowd..how can they just stand still with no movements at all while listening to this... seriously

  • @enow0049 i know man, genuinely upsetting!!!

  • what a great tune!!!

  • Only wish Jill Scott was there to sing the Hook.

    True Hip Hop never dies.......

  • I cannot thank you enough for uploading this. Probably the best song ever, best band ever, on the best show ever, doing some of their best performing ever.

  • All real instruments. Good vocals, no autotune. How hip-hop used to be.

  • @RossTheHick use to be...???The Roots are still making albums

  • @RossTheHick Hip-hop used to be "real instruments"? news to me

  • @RossTheHick Hey man, we've noticed a lot of hip-hop is not played live like this anymore, but we The Afterdark Movement are a live hip-hop group from the uk and are all about using real instruments, and talking about real things. If you get time check us out in all the usual places youtube Facebook etc hopefully it'll give you some hope that some up coming hip-hop is still kept real.
