i think its a statement about the state of our 'state'. it is based on the american dream of becoming overnight millionaires' per say... discovery probably knew it would flop, thus giving the rest of all americans who have lost their asses to the wall street buttrape a little bit of sympathy to these guys for not making it. it also serves to that same purpose making americans feel better about losing money when they see these gold miners lose time and time again. I am sick of how this show is running--I like the show but it is more about the drama and no way that there is this many promblems. I think it is all fake. I would enjoy the show alot more if they all start actually looking for Gold instead of everthing else. The show should be called the soap opera of Gold claims. I watched Ep. 1 & 2 and I could tell they exaggerated quite a few scenarios from popping a tire and making the barge delivery within minutes to crossing the river with the equipment. I'm also not convinced that these guys are really "broke", because how did they afford the equipment AND the lease for the gold claim and beat out other prospectors, considering that they're all basically amateurs? Looks like the producers footed the bill.
