  • this program is shit, where's a more complex program that uses amd video card.

  • I have the HD 6850? Where I can get this software?

  • i just cant fine the video converter!

  • @wollinger Go to the catalyst download page. And click for the "Optional Downloads" tab or search for "AMD Media Codec Package"

  • @exsterenpro I have it installed but all I can see on the still control panel is the option to turn it on or off,but how do I select the file and the options to convert it? I have an still hd5850 BTW.

  • @wollinger dunno :D

i was just replying your comment about not finding the installer :)

sorry for not having the correct answer to your replied :(

  • @exsterenpro it's OK, thank you for your time!!

  • Hi, how can I create a job list in order to do a batch conversion? I mean: how can I convert a folder of file with the same profile? It's pretty unhappy to select and convert each file one-by-one!

  • Would be nice with Matroska and Flac support since it is two of the most widely used free hd formats out there.

  • I cant figure this faggot shit out

  • with avi files doesn't work.

  • HEY Guys help me!

my video conveter is not converting videos

its finshing 0KB (mpeg2 sd tv records)

last drivers and amd codec packet installed by me.

  • First, no easy access to documentation of supported formats (You just get a "file not supported", second, the interface is worse than any free/OS software, third after getting info what is supported, result was ... well File not supported, Dear AMD - fix your software or simply remove it and fire the guys responsible for this excuse of 'gpgpu usage', not that anyone cares, seems the infosite about it had its last update years ago (lookking at the dead links).

  • don't use 64 bit window, atleast u still can convert avi and flv file with 32 bit version, with 64 bit its totally useless... u still can convert MKV but if u wanna convert the 2 out of 3 most popular format, its out of the question, go nvidia if hav 64 bit window

  • It wouldn't handle my MKV.

  • i AM UNHAPPY ABOUT ATI AVIVO VIDEO CONVERTER BECAUSE CPU LOAD = 60-80 % ( MONITORED BY CPUZ) GPU LOAD = 0% ( MONITORED BY GPUZ)

HENCE IT IS CLEAR THAT THIS CONVERTER DOES NOT USE GPU FOR VIDEO ENCODING BUT USES TRADITIONAL CPU FOR IT. MOREOVER IT IS BUGGY THOUGH FAST.

  • Call me a retard, but how the fuck do you access this converter? In CCC it gives me the option to enable it and thats it. what the fuck.

  • It crashes all the time for me.

  • this fails so hard, i only get not recognized format whenever i try a .avi .mpg .mov h264 but not on a wmw file

  • Thumbs up he sounds like Dane Cook.

  • Fucking GAY shit...

How about stream this shit in Vegas Pro or Adobe After Effects in real time?

    Fuck shit crap fuck.

  • @GigglingGirI /watch?v=1sGiAV684dQ&feature=related

  • Yay that's video is bullshit coz ati stream tech does not support all formats.

  • Am I the only one who finds it kind of funny that there talking about video converting yet the actual video on YouTube is in 360p lol. Personally I like ATI well now I guess AMD... but nVidia having the support that it does with Photo Shop, Adobe Encoder and all that I think nVidia some what wins on that but no I am not a nVidia fan boy lol

  • crap. It doesn't support .flv conversion

  • ati Converter = FAIL

    Way to go nVidia+BADABOOM!

  • You know, I think this video is a waste of time.

I just don't get it, why the man who keeps speaking blablabla ati stream is used for many many users blabla.. does not show what's the GPU being used AND how much CPU is being used. I think he tried to hide these information because he knows this converter that comes with Catalyst is worse than any cpu-based converter because it doesnt offload the cpu tasks - maybee doesnt even touch the gpu either and it only accepts WMV video format. Great SHIT.

  • @Rodox2k10 I'm pretty sure it doesn't use the GPU to do anything at all. I don't see the point..

  • I cant use it

it says something bout the codec or that it doesent have any video images

  • Глючная дрянь с убогими форматами. Лучше бы с tversity интегрировали.

  • Almost all of my videos are in MP4 AAC format. Which sucks because this converter doesnt support it. -.-

And most movie rips I get are in formats like MKV which doesnt work! So annoying. Good thing I have a dual quad core processors in my server, otherwise I'd be pissed. haha

  • very cool -- 30,426 GB-- the normal standard DVD Size of a DVDRW :D

  • Where are the third party developers for this technology? When is GPU accelerated video transcoding going to hurry up and become more mainstream? It seems to be progressing, but very slowly. I tried ATI's Video Converter, and while it's pretty nice I must say for a free app, it is very limited in it's encoding options. I hope they keep updating and improving it.

  • i got some porn on my computer and i wanto convert them on a dvd does any one knows how

  • @andersen781 Haha.

  • Nice, but this converter doesn't support any *.avi files which you can download...

  • It would be nice if it would accept my files without giving the "Unsupported format" message each time, except for .avi files, which I don't need to convert.

It would also be nice if they listed supported source and output formats in this video.

So far I've tried it on unencrypted DVD .vob files, .mkv, .mp4, .ts, .m2ts. None of them work.

This is with latest 10.4 converter, under latest Catalyst 10.5 and a supported card, Radeon 4890

  • I can't get this crappy app to work. AVI is unsupported for some reason. I have all codecs installed but I guess it's useless.

  • @Efferion fuck lol the worlds gonna endd AAAHHH!!!!!! lol..

  • Is it possible to queue files to be converted? i have 100+ clips in .avi format that i want converted to .mp4 so that my portable player can read them, but i can only convert one at a time and that is really inconvenient :S

  • AMD,

I have a question. What was the purpose of upscaling the video from 720P to 1080P besides converting it to the native res of the monitor? Does the GPU actually "add" pixels kind of like a DVD upscaler does?

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • ok so i finally found it but i can't convert anything always unsupported file format.

  • it won't let me download from the website it says this when i click download

  • This sucks big time. It seems this does not support the HD5000 series?!

    Thats just incredibly stupid.

  • @teikela it is Now :). Update your drivers.

  • it dosnt support any input exept wmv and avi, i encododed a 700mb sd movie to a 1080p 25mbps it taken 1 hour on a 4850, and once it has finish, it was 3 gigs, i was not able to read it in any programmes like vlc, media player classic, quicktime ect. it didnt work at all..

  • @222Panther222 Encode 700mbSD to 1080p ? looool... Why would you ever do that ? Anyway video acceleration(5870) works good becauze it took 2-3 minutes to decode a 4gb fraps to mpeg-1 (330mb)

  • where can I download this?

  • I second this.....

  • it doest support mkv

  • i downloaded the latest drivers and this program is nowhere to be found.

  • @Hornilope same here :S

  • It's an optional download for HD 2000, HD 3000, and HD4000 series, and not included with the catalyst suite.

  • i have a hd4000 series and the download isnt available on their available on their official site, which is pathetic

i tried downloading it from another site but it wouldnt work. ati=fail

  • @Hornilope okaym open catalyst and go to BASIC view should be there

  • i did and it wasnt there

  • switch to basic view. It took me forever to figure this out. ATI should tell you.

  • You need download Video Converter diffenerently (on same site), its doesnt come with drivers. With some beta drivers its can come.

  • hey! is there a way for batch processing the videos (or command line syntax)??

    regards,

    josy

    ps: to the converter

go to the ati "driver drivers and support" and select you ati graphics card, look for the "Avivo Video Converter*"download link on the same site, where you can download catalyst software and drivers.

  • thanks! i was wondering where i could find the AVIVO CONVERTER.. so i have to be at the BASIC control panel of the CAtalyst Control Center?

  • HE'S ANNOYING.

  • it's one of the greatest ideas since the dual core. we love GPGPU acceleration! please continue adding support for more file formats on the ATI Video Converter. a transcoder is only as good as the formats it supports!

  • I've heard it's buggy like hell and totally unusable.

I would prefer a multicore CPU over GPGPU with custom API for video encoding.

  • you have Nvida dont you?

  • No, I have HIS x1950pro v1 and Sapphire HD 4550. And u?

  • I think we have the same mouse and keyboard, lmao

    anyway good video

  • hi simon ,,,it sounds so great the way you explain,,,but there is something problem,,itry to download but idont know how to do it...please if you can show me how to download from the begening to the end iwould be so happy thanks..beckersteen....

  • This is nice video105974725

  • The guy's gestures and way of speaking are like:

"...but that's not all, if you call in the next 30 seconds to the numbers on the screen, you'll get also a free 5gal bottle of "take-those-fingertip-stains-away-from-my-monitor" magic liquid, and even better, if you're one of the first ten fortunate persons, you'll also receive a best seller called "CUDA and ATI Video Converter For Newbies, Know The Differences And Wich Was First", all of this with a total value of 3k dollars, for free!".

  • Great video.

  • Hopefully it's good, lots of these programs you see you have to pay for. Sounds great, good job!

  • Excellent.

  • w00t Boston

  • i installed the 9.5 drivers for vista 64 and i dont see where this video converter is? any ideas

  • Nevermind Its not "included" with the 9.5 drivers as said in the video its an extra download from ATi site.

  • Do you even know what CUDA is?

  • ¿"Copycat"?, I think you don't even know what nVidia's CUDA really is.

  • wow..that monitor is sick... what model is it?

  • you never did specify where i can download it, i have tried looking for it, but never found it, i even googled it, but nothing came up that was of any help.

  • what monitor hdtv>?

  • AWESOME!!! Great tutorial!

  • that's one BADASS monitor.

  • i have ati catalyst 9.5 i go to basic view and i still dont have the ati video converter showing...it it because i use 64bit os?

  • would the converter convert

MPEG4/AVC/H uno the HD video file.. ?

  • I was just wondering what GPU was used in this demonstration video?

  • Probably a Denab. Definintey a P2 anyway. LOL good point

  • LOL
