  • Their first album should officially be considered one of the greatest albums of all time, you never get tired of this album.

  • my favorite 'side project' from my favorite band

  • Greatness!!

  • omg been so long

  • Parece una combinacion entre synthpop y hip hop, esta xvere!!!!me gusta :)

    Saludos :D

  • claudiiorx

  • From all the LP, 'Some Distant Memory' is the track that stays with me.

    Love it.

  • From all the LP, 'Some Distant Memory' is the track that stays with me.

    Love it.

  • Sweet. Electronic is the total bomb.

  • IS this a remix? What are those weird synths doing there?

  • I don't know why someone has thumbed you for that it's a valid question. It is a different version in that way

  • I've "un-thumbed" him, as it is indeed a valid question.

  • It's the single version. I prefer the album version, it has a more raw sound and how it should be.

The synths are a bit of overkill if you ask me. As is the cheesy piano at 1:15.

  • This is such a great and very underrated song. Back in the day when Electronic released their debut CD, I was going to check them out live but their tour was postponed for some reason or another. Marr and Sumner are magical!

  • I just think this song was and still is amazing.

  • I always love it when Barney raps like he's so gangsta! Just like he does in Times Change! LOOOOOOVE IT! <3 <3 <3

  • Wishing Sumner and Marr could work together again, this was a great album and great song.

    Cheers from London,

    The Firegazers

P.S. Visit our channel, enjoy the songs and videos

  • this jam reminds me when i was seven my pops always played this tape

  • Smiths and New Order fans who reject this need to realize there are many of us who lived happily without either band after Electronic's first album, LOL

  • I realize there were/are many of you.

I just couldn't care less about any of you.

  • What do you get from the '80s,a member from "New Order", a member from "The Smiths",and a member from "Pet Shop Boys"*,you get one of the finest bands that came out during the early '90s(this song and others from Electronic gives me memories to the early 1990's).*Neil Tennant of PSB co-sang,"Getting away with it".

  • The chorus reminds me of that Madonna song.. Umm... I don't know what it's called, but it goes "Don't go for second best baby, put yourself to the test" or something...

Of course this is much better. lol

  • "Express Yourself" and I had never thought of that, but I agree

  • johnny marr is pure awesomeness.

  • the early 90s haven't aged well... can't believe two of my favorite musicians are in this

  • Bernard Summer !! is the best and electronic !!!!

  • If there's a place to be why don't you come with me,

Listen to your father, listen to your brother,

Take every chance that comes, maybe you'll find someone,

We don't need to argue, we just need each other...

The best feel good music ever.

  • Sounds like the record was remixed for single. The hip hop aspects are more forward here than on the album...

  • Yeah, this version is too Happy Mondays, but it's still good. The album version Rocks!!!

  • buen material!!! vívan las melodias!!!!!

  • really good tune this, wudnt look out of place at all on an indie night

  • yes yes more music with pasado saludos de mexicouuu rolav los saluda

  • time passes so fast, 17 years ago already....

  • Barney needs to start his rap career posthaste.

  • Yeah boyeeee!

  • Seriously LOVE Electronic ..Well the first albumn..seemed to go a bit down hill.....But as for this song..I do love it, but on a side note, can ANYONE picture two people less likely to be "in a violent fight" than Bernard or Johnny?

  • Brilliant song indeed!

    ;)

  • brilliant!

  • Such a great collaboration.

  • Love "getting away withit", but the rest of the album's not really up to much IMHO.....

  • "some distant memory" has to be the best track for me!

  • My favorite song from my favorite album of all time! I'm 37 and still enjoy hearing this CD. "There's a mirror on the table if you feel you could use it, don't be afraid go ahead just do it...". Great line!

  • I remember desperately trying to find an Electronic, T-shirt. I finally found one with a huge "2" on the back of it. Everybody thought it was a soccer jersey.

  • WHOS MORRISSEY?

  • You are being sarcastic, yes?

  • morrissey is the lead singer of the legendary band the smiths. johnny marr, who is the other guy in this video, playing the guitar with the sunglasses was in the smiths. morrissey is a fucking, whining, conceired asshole.

  • hearing this for the first time in ages, reminds me that ELECTRONIC were to me a SUPERGROUP! and how great they actually were! you can't compare this to what MORRISSEY has done, different styles of music.

  • Another fantastic song from the best album of Electronic.

  • love the track. love the album even more!

  • Wow, this is actually good. I've been afraid to hear Barney rap for fear of being embarrassed, but I do like this song after all.

  • So much better than anything Morrissey has done since The Smiths.

  • How can you even compare this type of dance music to what Morrissey has done since the Smiths? It's like comparing apples and oranges. Besides, it's petty to turn everything into a competition, their work should be assessed on it's own merit, not comparatively.

  • @magenta200

Yup I can hear "How Soon is Now" back there, but otherwise the style is unique.

  • @magenta200 best comment I've ever heard on Youtube! This applies to all the other bands as well

  • the album version is different, isn´t it???

  • Yes it is. this is the 7inch version remixed by D.N.A who also did the Suzanne Vega "toms diner" remix earlier in '91.

  • Johnny Marr is a great musician and just has to get the right vocals. I loved this album and wished I still had it :(

  • Looooved this always!

  • barney-rapping. kick ass. :D

  • First time I've seen this one. Great track, although the piano breakdown on the album version rocked like blazes. Not one of Johnny's best I alwasy thought.

  • Great guitar by johny marr It reminds me a bit of the smiths......., and some songs into the lp of mozzer viva hate.

  • who r these guys? their great!

  • THESE GUYS ARE THE GREAT SINGER OF NEW ORDER AND THE FORMER GUITAR PLAYER OF THE SMITHS JOHNY MARR. TWO GREAT MUSICIANS , they did one record and the name of the band is called electronic.

  • The did three records actually...Electronic (1991), Raise The Pressure (1996), and Twisted Tenderness (1999)...plus an awesome non-LP single with Neil Tennant called "Disappointed" in 1992. Their first (awesome) single came out in 1989.

  • They did three albums actually. Electronic (91), Raise The Pressure (96), and Twisted Tenderness (99).

  • i miss this deeply.. several road trips. i still have that original tape although it was replaced a few times over. half a life time ago...man that sucks! life really goes by, as does quality music. Thanks for putting it on here! cheers!

  • Haven't listened to that in ages....thank you so much for adding this...

  • great stuff!

  • Marvelous!!!

  • Pretty much blows New Order away, doesn't it?!

  • wouldn't go as far as that, pretty much their best stuff was on this cd tho, i still have it, think Johnny Marr is one of if not the best living english guitarist

  • I like this, but New Order is so much better in so many levels.

  • And Joy Division has a more unique sound but all bands had the genius Bernard Sumner.
