  • Uhhhhhhhhh, can we talk about the Rags.......

Go away dude. Thank God for John Tavares.

  • This shows you how much of a jerk Mike is

  • Eric is a tard.

  • Mike's reaction says it all about his hockey knowledge.

  • It will be exciting, fast, and fun to watch. It is going to be a lot of fun on the Island. The Future is very very bright the only thing holding this proud franchise down is an arena. The Islanders might have to win them selves an arena here in nassau county but it should NEVER come down to Wins and Losses. The area nees a stadium-for the Islanders, concerts, wrestling, disney on ice, pride in the area, etc. LI politicians dont fuck this up because this will be some team we have here!

  • How did Wang divest the team? You even said it yourself this team has good young players. They gutted this team in 2008 and are building it from the ground up. Snow is doing a good job. Sure they havent spent money but we need that money to sign our OWN first. Tavares will get a big deal. We cant lose our young players even if we are good. Chicago won the cup but they lost some players bc they gave Hossa such a big deal. The Islanders are moving along very well and its coming into frution.

  • do the same. Islanders have some great fans and we can be really good and be a great franchise again and have even more fans especially young ones, but we need to stick together, get out there, get our arena, and take it from there! LETS GO ISLANDERS!!! going to sleep now you kept me up an extra half hour.

  • @IslesLIFE4 - ummm, yeah - I hate to poke a giant hole in your delusion, but it is much too late for the fans to do anything about what will happen with the Islanders franchise - and, in reality, fans can't do much of anything. anyway. If Wang hadn't basically divested of the team 5 years ago and they hadn't perpetually sucked for the larger chunk of the last 20+ years. Wang may have had more political pull in Nassau, if you know what that means. Grow up, the "real fan" thing is childish/naive

  • get our arean that we deserve! We are the 4 time stanley cup champions! You dont move a Dynasty! I dont care how it has to get done GET IT THE FUCK DONE! and lets win some playoff games! This team will be good. How good? Who knows. I wanna see that contender and I think we can and will be one in a few years. We are going to be a lot of fun to watch. Heck we already are! We just need an arena deal. I dont know how many games you go to a year but I go to a lot. Maybe you and your friends should

  • First off im not writing an essay. Unncecessary heartbreak? If you stand up for your home and your team, it will not have to be unncecessary! We can make a stand. I am not trying to bury your posts and yes being a "REAL" fan is important to me. I think you can take something from how loyal a fan is to its team. If your not loyal to your team I have to question Your you're loyalty to other things in life. Not talking about YOU per se. Quebec will get its team but I believe the Islander fan will

  • ....an opposing view that might save you from some unnecessary heartbreak down the line

  • "Team that was once a Dynasty then had so much uncertainity if it would remain Home has nothng to do now but celebrate the Stanley Cup." This team will be good and you know it and they will be good before 2015! Just dont fuck this up Wang and Nassau Politicians bc we can have a great team here! My biggest fear are Nassau Polticians ruining a great team for us.

  • ONLY because of nassau politicians. How stupid can you be to lose a TEAM and an ARENA-all those events! Come on now. I believe even if it comes down to an 11th hour deal that nassau will get its arena and team, however Queens or suffolk could get the Islanders if gay ass politicis continues. TIme is running out for nassau not the Islanders. Isladners have options and will have a great team and will be hoisting the next cup in the metro area! It will be a great story....

  • The third time will be a charm. Your not a real Islanders fan and if you are I apologize. Get that "brace yourself" nonsense out of your head if you really love this team. Wang will honor his lease(He has no choice!!) so he and the Islanders have that going for him. I have been less tense since august 1st. July SUCKED for me I was a nervous wreck now we are one step closer to a resolution. My gut says the Islanders will be playing in nassau but it would not surprise me if they played in queens

  • @IslesLIFE4 - listen, I am trying to be cordial in our conversation, here, but you are starting to scare me a little bit, and have done two things that royally piss me off. First of all, it is YOU'RE=you are NOT YOUR. Secondly, you are giving me that "real fan" juvenile crapola. Please rise above that garbage.

Secondly, I am suddenly feeling like you are posting (many times) with the express purpose of burying my posts, not because you are even slightly interested in an opposing viewpoint

  • I dunno - hope you're right, but don't get anymore attached to the Islanders than you are right now until we know they are staying. And no one should committ suicide over losing a pro sports franchise - remember the owners and men who run these oligarchies do NOT care about you that much. If you have a family and friends, live for them, not a bunch of suits and sweaty assholes we don't know.

  • will get done in Nassau and if Nassau is that STUPID to lose a Team and an arena well politicians being that stupid then we have other options in NY. I feel so so bad for quebec. Its HORRIBLE enough for your team to leave but for them to win it all in another city the year after! I mean I would not blame someone for committing suice for something like that its mind boggling! Quebec will get there team and it might even be sooner then 2015-Phoenix will either be some place else in 11-12 or in pho

  • Queens is close. People know how to take the train to Penn so this would be a stop on that line. Mets fans know how to get to shea by train and nassau is close to queens and some areas in suffolk are only a half hour away. Queens would also bring more media to the Islanders. Long term Queens is the best option. Short term to get an arena deal DONE and ready by 2015 and keep our youing core here like Tavares Nassau Co. is the best option. Even if it takes a 25th hour deal like in Pittsburgh it

  • absolute latest by the end of 2012-early 2013. Ideally they would like something in the ground this summer and I still think that is possible and here in Nassau County. Wang wants to stay in Nassau its obvious. I think Brooklyn is out because it would only hold 14,000 for hockey from what I hear, if they heald 16,000 it could work even though I think its a horrible idea right in the center of Ranger$ country. Suffolk is real far from Bk and even nassau is a shlep esp with traffic.

  • You make some decent points. I dont know what team you root for..Ranger$ I suppose? Atleast you acknowledge the fact that the Islanders have a solid and maybe even a monster farm system. That I give you credit for bc you see the bright future. Did you really expect to hear a lot after what happened on august 1st? You heard nothing from Wang after the LH was scaled down for a long time, longer then what you will hear from Wang on this issue because the clock is ticking they need something

  • @IslesLIFE4 - I am, basically, an Islanders fan, who has already braced himself for the worst until I see real evidence that things are going to change. I forgot to come full circle, but since I'm here. I'll say that Charles Wang is the real reason that the last two proposals (which in actuality Wang COULD have accepted or negotiated with Kate Murray's version of LH but that's another story) have been politically unviable. Wang has been the steward of a hockey trainwreck, simple as that.

  • No they wont be! Can people be so dumb. You think Charles Wang and other places in new york are just going to wait it out until 2015?? Do you seriously believe they are just going to wiat out the lease and then move in 2015? Small possibility if lets say something else is proposed but isnt worked out. I think the 3rd time is the charm for the islanders. Not only will they be in nassau county (Queens is possible) but they will be a damn good team by 2013, might even have a cup by 2015!

  • @IslesLIFE4 - Pt. 1- Well, first of all I do not know what "people" you talk about, but it doesn't appear as if there's any evidence that Nassau is doing much to keep the Islanders here. The RFP's that Mangano has collected since the August 8 "deadline" bore virtually no fruit, whatsoever. There were actually a number of proposals that phased out the Coliseum entirely (much less the Islanders), and what "other places" in NY are there really?

  • @IslesLIFE4 pt.2 - Forget Flushing Meadows (1. let's see how long it is before Picard picks apart Wilpon) you think the Nassau Hub is a political football? Just wait until they try to come with shovels to dig on the Iron Triangle! Brooklyn is far from a slam dunk, as the arena is not really made for hockey and Wang wouldn't own. The Pilgrim State site in Suffolk could work, but if Levy and Wang are in serious negotitiations, they are seal tight and clandestine, which would make no sense...

  • @IslesLIFE4 pt.3...and would run counter to Wang's being a "free-agent" for a new building, as he has publicly stated. If the Pilgrim State thing happens, that would be the best of alternate possibilities, really. However, things are not appearing to move in that direction, and if Wang wanted an arena there, Suffolk would have to make plans to demolish Pilgrim State relatively soon - not in 2015.

Now, the x-factor in all of this is Gary Bettman.

  • @IslesLIFE4 pt.4 - Gary Bettman, who may have grown up on LI but moved long before the Islanders existed, made it clear, perhaps too publicly clear, after taking over for Gil Stein saying (and I'm paraphrasing) that the NYMetro market is supersaturated with 3 teams. Quebec City has an arena built right in time for the Islanders lease to expire and there are a lot of prospective buyers north of the border, believe me! Quebec will get a cut of CBC money, and big cut of RDS money....

  • @IslesLIFE4 - pt. 5 - ....and perhaps their own regional French cable deal for the remaining 45 odd games, and the new ownership ain't even missing the NY cable deal. AND Bettman "rights the wrong" of moving Quebec to Denver. Not mention that Quebec would inherit a powerhouse farm system that would just need tinkering from a cash flow infusion (RFA's), and you have yet another disgrace....HAHAHAHA! It's gonna happen, dude - Wang doesn't really like hockey, and you know it deep down, as do I.

  • I told Francesa about Calvin De Haan and Nino. I told him straight up!

  • @IslandersLIFE4 - well, my shared condolences, the islanders will be the nordiques in 2015-2016

  • I have been doing a lot of thinking about my islanders and i have come to the conclusion that even though the owner is a horrible man and the organization is in shambles, it's the logo, the history, and the franchise i love. i am allowed to hate management (i have for the past 15 years), but i can't confuse management with the organization as a whole.

  • That guy is right, they are ruining John Tavares and Josh Bailey by not playing them with anyone legitimate. No good veterans. The Islanders have a lot of young talent coming in and will have a top 2 pick this season, but it will mean nothing if they cant sign a top 6 forward and a few good players to help these kids. At the very least get some confidence. Dont think Tavares does not have people chirping telling him to leave Long Island. It's like Throwing a person out in a jungle with no exper
