@Broth3rz i've concluded that it's got to be a firmware problem, because the problem only happens when returning from sleep mode, no other times. that rules out hardware and it can't be software because it has done it under three operating systems, Windows XP Home Edition, Ubuntu 10.04, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux that i've since installed.
I got the same problem with mine. I had to open the screen panel and there's a wires plug on a small integrated circuit at the buttom inside the screen panel and this plug was almost unpluggeg. I pressed it to put it plugged correctly and it works properly since this repairs
When i talked to Acer service, they told me I need a new screen cost 400$ to change it. Finally I found a technical manual of this computer and I fix it by myself and save 400$
@linuxbbas i may try to do that then. all i know is that because this phenomena only occurs when returning from sleep state, i am leaning towards believing that this is at the firmware level or something like that, not specifically hardware or software, but the firmware level instead because i have a feeling that i installed a firmware update on this computer a few months before the original video was made, and because i rarely use sleep mode on my computers, i may have not noticed it.
@corvetteboy10 it's not them the rest of the computer runs great it's ATI which surprises me because it works good in all of my other computers, as a matter a fact i don't have one computer in my house running an Nvidia graphics chip, they're all ATi and two of them are VIA unichrome. and regarding manhattan os, the development has been slower than expected and i'm not reviewing it until the full version comes out supposedly in the fall because the developer isn't happy with it yet.
So you need to buy a new processor?
