  • im using boxing as a focus for my cqc military combat

    hes really good

  • Here's a video of footwork using skittles youtube.com/watch?v=gs99fAjY4E0

  • you JUMP o.O , well i think everybody has a different Style .. o.o

  • You can change the spacing between the lines to suit the distance you want to move but a rough guide would be 24'' or about 2 feet. It really depends how tall you are.

  • whats the gap in inches between the lines pls cheers

  • IRON MAIDEN + BOXING = GOOD TIMES

  • ricky hatton has great footwork. but pacquiao's footwork is even better. not saying that because pacquiao ko'ed hatton in 2 rounds, it's just the way pac uses his footwork is just more effective.

  • I always figured step with the lead foot first, i.e., stretch open your legs (but not too far), then carry the rear and close them back to the original stance. I definately see how carrying the rear first then stepping foward will expend less energy but I'm wondering how practical that would be against a kick while moving (obviously not in a boxing match but still curious).

Still, I'm grateful to learn an alternate stepping method (that's where it all starts) and it was explained well. Thanks.

  • hey its benzema

  • I have serious problems dropping my shoulders before and after a punch, how do I keep my posture during a fight?

  • @Nunziohotpants hey, to me that sounds like you are standing up a bit too much before you throw the punch. You should always have that slight hunch over at the waist and upper back that gives you the ability to lean forward into a power shot, of course. Practice putting the tips of your fingers to your knees, then from there elbows at your side, fists up to your face. That will give you a natural defense posture. Work from there, friend.

  • @neillk2 mate this is the single best video on footwork that I've found on YouTube. Stellar work!

  • When are you considered to old to go pro. Basically when should you start boxing in order to go pro?

  • is that hard to learn btw i start at 15

  • Its good when i start boxing at 15?

  • very nice footwork there mate. you should try nine dimensional footwork, i invented that.

  • great video thanks. it is difficult to find a good video about footwork .....

  • Great Ideas thank you

  • really good! you are a help for me with this video.

    Best regards from Argentina!

  • SO SIMPLE !!! Thanx for the Upload !!! really appreciate it.

  • I'm being taught to never lift my back foot-my right,I'm orthodox, off the ground, this style seems more natural,as you move forward your body weight provides the power for the punch. One question, will Derek's footwork leave a fighter open to being pushed off balance in a fast moving fight ?

  • Great comments folks!

Derek is the nicest guy you'd ever meet and a genuine champion. If you have any training questions for him just post them here and I can make a quick training video of the answers for you.

  • That's very nice. Could you ask him about how to feint, and what some different kinds of feints are. That would be excellent.

  • @neillk2 Awesome!!!
