the action sounds so fucking low as well, your right its not worth the money based on this video, this guitar deserves a better set up and better video recording and sound recording
that lick kinda gets a lil annoying but i think the guitar sounds ok. wish you could of played the neck pickup. may not be a real 60 but it looks cool!
Horrible sound .... use your ears please!! No tone 100% lacking in everything that made Fender good. If this is a genuine 60's strat then I am now President of Mars !!! Awfull sound.
I hate to say that but it sounds more like a Mustang... a bit on the wimpy side. and the strings probably too low on the fretboard. The guitars looks incredibly clean, like it spent 48 years inside somebody's wardrobe.
aye its sounds pish actually , could be the amp settings , should have demoed through a boogie and marshall too , rather than the same wee licks over and over . this guitar would be sold for £25k !! hasnt showed it off very well .
Well I'm glad you thikn that was alright. I've been playing for 3 years, maybe a bit more. That was just me knocking around, struggling with my recording equipment. You've inspired me to record some stuff of me actualy playing and not just showing my guitar. Thanks for the complement and check for another video within the next few hours.
For three years, you sound great. I know guys that can't strum after three years.-Try that through a Burriss or a K spot and you will have a new tone. Also, don't listen to anyone who is trying to disparage your ability or the strat. I own a mint 63,64,74 in addition to several player strats. Until you crack it open, NOBODY can tell. If that is a straight 1960 with no broken solder and orig case, I'm a buyer-Steve
I have a 60 also. My fretboard is black brazilian rosewood. The vintage guitar market is now insane price-wise with a lot of good guitars going to Japan.
prob a poly bodied reissue

the bad quality probably has more to do with the camera mic than the playing

Fender Mexico Classic series? ;) Told to be not a bad guitar for the money. But at least you'll need decent pickups. Tone is horrible!

sounds really harsh...although my favorite tones can come from a strat..it can make a lot of thin and ugly tones too..it needs a set-up maybe.

Is that a Ebony fretbord?
TheMercenaryArtist 4 years ago
It does look like ebony. Starting in May 1959 Strats had rosewood fretboards. My guess is that the video makes it look dark.
