Nice bike you have, I have a 04 LTD model. I like the way the gauges are on the handle bars, mine are on the tank it makes it harder to read. I also like the wheel's on your bike. Mine has the wire spokes type. Like to find an older model and swap over the gauges & wheels. Then a great bike would be almost perfect. Mine had 2300 miles when I found it. Just about broken in good. To bad they stopped making them in 09. Have a ? What amount of miles to the tank do you get ? Best, yl
Bad copy of a Harley? I have one of these and am having the time of my life! Which is the whole point. I've run into you Harley snobs and honestly, yeah cool bike, but waaaay overpriced. The market is glutted with used Harleys asking almost sticker because a bunch of wannabes bought em and can't afford em. I'll stick with what I can afford and be just fine. Thanks. You can take your Harley and move on down the road. I'm not a lemming.
@doug12361 Dude, many Harley's are shit compared to this bike. Old Harley's are unreliable. Plus, this bike is fast. For only 498cc, my bike easily pulls 5.5 0-60.
Drewbocop, thanks and I agree. This, for me, is a starter bike and I will keep it forever because it turned out to be a fantastic buy as well as a great ride. It handles so well I almost hate to move on. I'll move up to a bigger bike, but never to a Harley. I won't pay the premium and the enormous maitanence costs. Plus, they're just to darn loud. I'll probably stay on a Vulcan. Although I'm really liking the new Interstate from Honda. Ride safely!
Hello there to all EN 500 lovers. I need your help!!! I'm trying to change the air filter for my 1996 Kawasaki en 500 which is a TRAPEZOIDAL one, I just checked it on my bike. I can only find a conic one over the internet. Could anyone help me with a code for an TRAPEZOIDAL air filter code or tip or anything. Thanks!!

@dumapies Well the way I see it is the Vulcan has got 6 gears rather than 5, better ground clearance for leaning round the corners, is lighter, and looks better. The engine is a parallel twin derived from the GPZ500 rather than a V-twin so in no way can it be described as a copy of the harley 883. The acceleration is rapid!
@dumapies well i'm giving you facts of why they run better , i don't see why you have to talk bad about them with out a reason just because they're not made in USA ,harleys is just a big name too expensive for what you get old obsolete technology they break and needs adjustments all the time one of my friends took his fresh out the shop parked in his garage and burned to the ground they run too hot, other friend use to have harley broke all the time bought a vulcan 800 he said never breaks
What does it say that a 5 year old Harley costs the same as a brand new Kaw? Does it say the Harley is a better bike and holds it's value better? Or does it say wow, they're asking a lot more than that bike is worth for what it is? A case can be made for either. Depends on what is important to you. If you can't be comfortable riding your Kaw into a parking area full of shiny Harleys then there's your answer. All I can say is, I love my ride, (EN500LTD) and I don't make payments.
nice vid..i have my 86 454 torn down..painting it and replacing worn parts...is there a video anywhere on how to debaffle the exaust? ive seen a few for vulcans on here but im not sure if the pipes vary in design and how to go about making it stop sounding like a lawnmower
hey i just got one of these and i was wondering if it is ok for your motor to turn it down like you did at the end is that ok for regular driving or just for show
Mine goes plenty fast, acceleration is really good, handling good except at parking lot speeds, the rake makes it a little "long" feeling. I haven't gone over 80 MPH but at that speed had plenty of throttle left. Some say they go 120 MPH but not with me in the saddle.
I do have a open ? Does anybody know the amount of oil to refill this bike, been told 3.2 Qt's & 4.2 Qt's with a new filter ? Thank's, yl

How many kilometres or miles did the vulcan have when you bought it? Because it looks and sounds really good
C0verdale1 2 years ago
@C0verdale1 Hi, it had 12,000 miles on it when I got it, it does sound good, better than you can hear in the video.

I remember having a 1984 454 LTD.
I loved that bike! .. She could do wheelies and triple digits... She was also very loyal and dependable...

the absolut maximum i ever drove with mine (en500c, 1996) was 180km/h, that's about 112 mph.
i talked to some guys who sayed, that they have been driving with 185km/h (about 115mph)... but i don't think that more than that is possible
(sry, for my bad english^^)
