Todd is our generations Dylan ( only he has a voice). Had the privilege to meet him backstage at GOTL a few years ago. One of my favorite pics of me is with Todd. Talked with him for a while, asked him to play two specific songs. He lit up and we talked about the two songs and then he went on stage and played "Play a Train Song" and "Alcohol and Pills" as he said he would
NO DISRESPECT TOWARDS TODD, I LOVE TODD, MAN. BUT HE I HOPE HE NEVER GETS ANY BIGGER, NEVER HITS IT REAL BIG. IT WOULD RUIN EVERYTHING. WE NEED ARTISTS LIKE TODD IN OUR CULTURE. CULT-TYPE HEROS SOMEBODY YOU R INTO BUT NOBODY YOU KNOW EVER HEARD ABOUT HIM. MAKES IT MORE SPECIAL, I THINK. IM RAMBLING ANY HOW CANT WAIT TO SEE YOU IN JIM THORPE AGAIN, TODD.
@nojrevned lame. you want an artist you supposedly love to not get huge just so you can think you are cooler than people who don't know about him. Get a life. I pull for my favorite artists to be bigger than friggin Elvis. they deserve it. if more people listened to Todd Snider this would be a better world
I saw Todd for the first time in 1994 in a small bar in Mississippi. He came out barefoot and grinning. I thought to myself thas I will be wanting these few hours back. Afterwards I stood in pure amasement......speechless. The guy is a musical, story telling genius. At that moment, I picked him as some sort of "land based" Jimmy Buffet. Not to many months later, he signed on the Margaritaville record label for a few of his albums. Now when I'm having a shyttie day, I listen to Todd!
Todd is a pure genius. A rare kind of musician who keeps creativity, humor and melody all in harmony. As a musician I know how fucking hard that is! Music like his is more dead than classical and thats a crying shame!
I saw Todd Snider 8 Years ago tonight with John Prine at the Van Duzer theatre on the Humboldt State University Campus. That was September 10th, 2001. Life was better then in many ways.
Saw Todd live at !0KLF 09 this year and it was my first experience. He is an amazing musician with sharp wit and a fantastic view of life. Keep up the good work Todd your more than alright in my book.
Please come to Oklahoma!

This is such great songwriting, and it is certainly a new chapter in a long line of American outlaw ballads. I love it!

Todd reminds me a lot of myself actually. Except that he's a lot smarter and more articulate. But otherwise he's a lot like me.
