That's one thing I noticed when they do remakes of these films, they take out the raw and unforgiving nature of the original's moments and replace it with more polished, Hollywood style teen kills.

No I don't. Few remakes do. The Thing was not a remake in my eyes, it was simply a more accurate film from the book. Even Carpenter wanted to call it Who Goes There? because it was so different than the original. The Fly remake was good but I think story wise the original was better crafted.

Ici il s'agit de glands enfermés dans un hotel ou se trament des meurtres aussi irréalistes les uns que les autres ( vous connaissez beaucoup de tueurs qui accrochent leur victime au plafond avec une agraffeuse ? i love this film. it is if david lynch decided to direct a horror film. like the films of lynch this film involves electricity and actors in search of roles + what the lines between what is real and what is acting are blurred. as with lynch's twin peaks and hotel room a hotel has a history or life of it's own. this film is what it might be like if lynch directed a hardy boys/nancy drew film with lots of gore! there is also an older man speaking in cryptic tones giving clues.
Carrie the film? oh my god that film is scary. its not so much scary as like just really... ehhhh. never would watch it again.. its just totally creepy and weird.

I didn't like Scream.
I liked the original Fly better, it had a better told story. The remake was more effects driven.
