My horse has recently started rearing when I take him out for a hack. He used to rear when I first got him, but this was stopped once I had the chiropractor out for him. He goes perfectly fine in the arena or when going out with company, but when I take him out on his own he spins and rears. Yet if I take him out in the woods and not on the road, he goes perfectly. Is this just a confidence thing that just needs time, or a habit left over from when he was in pain? Help?
I'm still looking for the abuse you people are talking about. That type of horse wants it. Endo gives him his fit and carries on. That horse seems the type to want the fight for guidance whether it be because he's confused, looks to me like Endo is showing him a different guidance. His rearing gets nothing. No response. The horse understands this quickly and in turn realizes he shouldn't waste his energy. It's brilliant.
Think again... That horse was mistreating him first! He could of seriously gotten hurt for a horse acting up, if you dont punish it, how do you expect it to get better? Seriously, think.
Think again... That horse was mistreating him first! He could of seriously gotten hurt for a horse acting up, if you dont punish it, how do you expect it to get better? Seriously, think.
no offence because you did a great job handling him....but....its really not that hard to stay on if you know what your doing....my horse rears all the time....im still working with her and she is getting much better...o and im only 13....great job
I'm not ashamed to say that my ass would be on the ground if my horse did that lol. You did an awesome job staying on, and like Mz2Wings said, you're a very respectful rider. Beautiful horse by the way :)
hitting a hore in the head for rearing will cause the horse to panic and will make it worse. i know from expierence of watching my friends horse.. my hores rears on trail sometimes and i will NEVER hit him even if hes being a brat. DONT DO IT you can really hurt a horse doing that
My opinion , beautifuly ridden ... Calm and sit it out , when he's calmed down then ask for forward ....... sometimes fighting them causes them to apanic even more and often rear higher and then the well it'll be blue flashing lights....
My friend use to have a gelding that reared like that. So scary, but she was laughing the whole time. XD I thought she was nuts. but she always kicked her gelding when he reared, made the rear smaller and he would go forward after it instead of back. O_O please be careful, I was scared that horse was gonna fall back and land on you.
okay this is annoying me. i am tired of people whining that every horse on her is being mistreated. that horse started rearing after another horse whinnied. it is not the riders fault, as you could tell he was hanging on every time. i have 8 horses, and if one of mine did that i would probably hit him on the head! they should not do that. that horse is not being mistreated at all, i have a horse that used to be beat with a two by four. you dont know what cruelty is so just shut up about it
Well sat. ts nice to see someone how doesnt go straight to hitting these animals when something starts going wrong. And you know what, you didn't need it. I'm no way as experienced as some trainers but I have the common sense not to do something stupid like hitting it on the head when it rears, if you think it through you'll see right through it too.
agh! I hate it when my little mare rears.I probably would have gotten off had she reared that many times, but then again, she rears higher and higher every time, and has come close to flipping over. And she was only rearing to avoid going through a puddle, so leading her through still worked out well. God job getting the horse to quite though! what a goof.
and for the person that said to beat the shit out of it, you clearly lack common sense love, if you have your own horse, your clearly not fit enough to do so!
when a horse is acting that badly and you want to disapline them, don't beat them, that will make it worse. just pull them in cirles. i did that to my horse when he had a rearing problem, and he quiet... so it should work
Hey Endo, Huge Fan of yours, wish you were still in Australia. You would have to be one of the best trainers I have ever seen. Anyone who thinks otherwise should not own or ride horses. I used to have a mare that had a really bad attitude, she used to rear and intentionally flip over backwards. Even if you werent on her back. She evntuall 'grew' out of the habit as she learnt it really didnt get her anywhere. Still the attitude never really changed.
I love this video it shows how stupid horses can be at times and i saw nothing wrong i have ridden horses all my life ok ok so yea some will act stupid... Also you all dipshits out there don't judge someone you don't know... HAHA ok well g2g gotta getting on some wild mustangs
Okay, for one. Horses are never stupid. They make MISTAKES like people. When they make mistakes, it's because of people. This guy is trying to fix it. Jeez. And for two, I don't think your gonna go and get on some wild mustangs. Isn't it animal cruelty to get one straight from the wild, and than saddle it up and ride it? I hope it puts you in the fucking hospital.
Horsepat that is an inhumane handle that situation it is apparntly spookish Young horse. Plus its winter all horses get skittish during winter. to handle a situation like that you should turn him in circles or correctly diciplen him by showing him not hitting with a whip.
if only more people would take the time to listen to endo there would be a lot less problem horses in this world. as they say in scotland 'go on yerself big man!'
Oh, i waznt talking about u!! sory i was replying 2 horsepat. I agree with wat ur doing, I think your a great rider! I dont even hav a horse, i just help ppl if their horses hav problems
Hmmm, I've never ridden a horse that serious about rearing, not that I want to! And then he just walks right on after he's decided he got the point across. And people say mares are the only ones who throw "temper tantrums"....
excellent seat! but i'm not sure if you were doing this ( couldn't see ) or if you've tried it but try kicking him when he/she goes up but yes really really good seat
Nice job. You sat his rear great! I wanna work with problem horses when I'm older! I've already trained a bay arab and a Thorough, so I hope I'll get better when I'm older
Hun, that trick only works on half hearted pony type rearers not serious ones. Serious rearers will use their body weight and launch themselves . They use that momentum to get leverage and break the hold.
yeah he was not going to flip - the horse i rode which reared had perfect balance when rearing, but you should always turn them if they flip. Thats what i do, and it works.
That horse almost flipped over backwards. That happened to me, only my riding horse actually started to tip over. I panicked and jerked her to the side, which, surprisingly, is what you're supposed to do. We're both OK, though I fell off when she landed.
my dad does that for a living ( now he works with the dressage horse ) but before that he worked at the race track in england then in kentucky then if florisa then he grew to tall so he moved to problem hroses! But that aws ok! as i say it could of beed worse!
I had a rearer...rear....rearerer? Whatever, I had a rearer as well, but her problems were different. IT's amazing what riding through it can do. I actually learned a trick. I had a twine that went underneath her lip (similar to a lip chain), but I was able to hold onto it. When she'd rear, I'd give a jerk and down she'd go, cantering off. Made my life worth living again ;). But she's really a great horse now.
My horse lays down when i tack her up but i just boot her in the bum and make her stand up again. (gently) The person who said he is kicking her and stuff thats just to get her to stand up. If you watch he stops kicking once he stands and does what she asks. Horses dont feel as much as you think unless you beat them with something hard.
people who are saying his horses don't respect him thats not true because all horses have their days when things just dont go perfectly. No horse or person is perfect. To the person that was riding i say awesome jb staying on. One thing that someone said was to dismount.
