wow ~ best of both worlds ...Love Sade...Love Basia...Done for a Nissan commercial in Japan...saids a lot about Sade's WONDERFUL character ...LOVE you both ~ a lot
This a really cute take on a cut from another of my fav goddesses. Nice job! She always puts her own spin on a cut. I really want to see her Next week.
This is a trip to hear Basia doing a Sade song, but somehow it is really right. I am a serious Sade fan...and Sade would be proud. Great cover, from another amazing voice that I am a serious fan of...and yes I have most of her cd's too (like Sade). Go Basia.
This version is passable but is done without the soul, passion, style and grace that Sade performs it with. Sade really draws you into the music and words with a solid conviction that, so far, no other singer has been able to duplicate.
Wow is there anything she CAN'T sing?!!! I just love her voice and the fact that she adds her style to all she does, even on covers of songs. Happy I sound this thanks for postsing.
I LOVE BASIA♥♥ I met Her in 1994 at the Starplex in Dallas. I did a sketch portrait of Her and she really liked it. I got to meet Her at the gate since I was not able to get a backstage pass. She is a Very nice person. I fact, I have a large color sketch portrait that looks like the above picture. I think that I made this picture thinking of what BASIA would look like today. She IS my favorite singer. I am also studying the Polish language. Dzien Dobry BASIA .Piekna Kobieta
@2003Brad Oh Boy, this is unrequited love! You're studying Polish, what for, so you can whisper imaginary love nothings in her direction? I'll bet you jerk off with her picture at your bedside and delude yourself that you are making love!
I am not a fan of Sade, so I don't care for this song. Basia, I LOVE♥♥♥♥ I met Her at the STARPLEX in dallas back in 1994. I did a big sketch portraiat of Her. Although I did not get a backstage pass, I still got to meet Her and she really the sketch that I did of Her, I am also studying the Polish language. I LOVE BASIA♥♥♥♥♥ My favorite female singer, I guess that I wil keep listenig to "HER" smooth operartor song. I could care less for mokey and sexless

Yes what ever happened to Basia. Not sure whose version I like best. Sade' is smokey and sexy as in "been there a girl forlorn-ed." Basia's is more at the club,,,, saying "hey see that guy stay away"
Basia's band IS tight....very "sound "machine". She does the song justice,
Now this is the Basia that can make you sit back and say " WOW! Wish she could go mainstream again and be out front like she was in the states in the 80's. I MISS HER wonderful vocal overdubs much like Karen and Richard Carpenter....Go Girl !
I met Basia in august of 1994. I did a poster-size sketch of HER. She really liked it. I met HER at the gate where they pull in for their concert in dallas. This song sounds like a song that would be used in an intro to a movie while on a 747 landing in Brazil. I Love BASIA but she does too much of this samba music. She should do a symphony classical slow song with an opera like intro. ♥♥♥♥
@2003Brad I met her in the 90s. She's a very charming lady with a golden voice. I'd like to see her do some traditional jazz, but who can blame her for wanting to make a decent living.
Spelling "been" as "benn" was just a gosh-honest-mistake (the kind that all humans are prone to). It's a result of hitting the wrong key when typing fast more that from bad spelling. And "enuff" is the slang spelling of "enough" (like in the Fabulous Thunderbirds song "Tuff Enuff"). So my spelling ability is fine. Definitely nothing worth getting your "pannies" all in a bunch.
Oh, & "pannies" is supposed to be "spelt" that way. It's a slang spelling of "panties".
All I did was put up a comment with absolutely no ill intent whatsoever. Quite the opposite actually. It's a positive comment to this video. But then, you respond to it by trying to put me down based on one spelling error that is so common, that you'll see thousands of people making the same mistake not just here on youtube, but all over the internet. But you're too ignorant to see that, that you gotta be a shit about it.
Your comments make it pretty obvious who's being the ignorant shit here.
@themightycelestial Holy crap, never expected to see a Basia video with the words "ignorant shit" in the comments section, lol...but damn right, lot of criticism for a "misteik".
Beautiful long sustained notes. Basia often showcases her ability to sing fast, difficult passages, which doesn't give a full opportunity to enjoy the tone of her voice. Great song for her!!
Wow, never heard this before. This is great with a samba beat. Basia is the best, and Sade's early albums are also really great.

Really nice, bossa-ish take on Sade. They're both great but Sade's version sounds more personal. If that makes sense.

Have to agree with holywells.
If Basia enjoyed herself making this, then fine. But no point in me listening to it.
