@Edge73100 e/de-volution mostly. You see how Kain and his "sons" evolved through time. Kain's skin turned to a more stone and marble complexion. And his sons became hideous beasts. Raziel said it best "in time we became less human...and more...devine". I guess the quote can be taken literally in terms of his physical apperance. So the more he "evolved" the less human he appeared, thus disgarding his human characteristics(5 fingers).

No, what made Kain "kill" Raziel was what he saw in Moebius's chamber years after this.

Given this game was made without the intent of having a sequel, it was most likely Moebius hinting at the good ending.

What pwnage. I haven't played this game. But I like this death more than his impaling in Defiance. Though in Defiance, I do love his little moment with Raziel just after Kain impales him. After getting killed by Kain, he get's impaled again by Raziel then having his soul eaten.

I love how Kain uses just the plain old iron sword to lop off the head of Moebius. He should have used the Soul Reaver on him, or at least hit him with one of those killer spells like Font of Putrescense. Turn Moebuis into a smoldering pile of gree goo. That would have kicked ass.

It is true, Kain is technically "Dead". But in Defiance he does "Die" again when he goes to the demon dimension after Raziel rips his heart out. But he does come back in the end. In an ironic twist he kills Moebius again after that

Kain kills him anyway, preventing him from becoming the Nemesis, and returns to his previous time. William's followers, in the meantime, learn of this, and become crazed vampire hunters, under Moebius's leadership.
