Before it appeared in the Simpsons, some may remember it from My Fair Lady.
I think this is the definitive version of the song. No matter how many wonderful versions I hear this is the most moving. I think Mss Kent put it to sleep.
She's one of the best jazz singers I've ever heard, a latter-day Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn. Her subtlety, her sense of perfect nuance, is remarkable.
I'm so glad this gorgeous recording has returned. It's one of the most delicate-poignant pieces of music I've ever heard. For the way she sings "of something in the air" at the end, she deserves a million prizes.
the starting of the video was so funny. I'VE GROWN ACCUSTOMED TO HIS FACE

Ha. It's the song that Sideshow Bob sung right after he decided not to kill Bart Simpson. It's always nice to place a song. Smooooooooooth.

The tenor sax ain't bad either. Somebody can point out who's playing ?

@MrNepau The tenor sax is Stacey's husband : Jim Tomlinson - who plays like Stan Getz.

I agree 100%. (I'm appalled at how long it's taken me to discover her! Just hear what I'v e been missing ...)

@harryf200 : I discovered her even after your did!
Her francophilia and breathy edge remind me of the late Blossom Dearie, but she has stronger support in her instrument.
