@ciscoheras Nobody uses a power stretcher, except maybe for very large rooms or for large restretches. It is completely unneccesary. Rooms just need to be stretched with a kicker. Stretched.
Hi, I need to install my carpet but the floor is concrete. How would i do it on a concrete floor? Everything is already out the room, i just have no idea on how to start. Would you be able to help me out?
@bataca88 2 ways they do it a glue down carpet on the concret but make sure it is level if not you can use a commercial floor leveler like lepages second you can put down the carpet tacks around the edge using small concrete nails I don't know about your supply area but here you can buy the tack strips with short concrete nails already put in the strips if not buy short ones install the carpet strips and the foam underlay and away you go
@pawnbrokerbob If you're putting underlay on a concrete floor and can't staple it down do you glue it down or will it stay in place once the carpet is stretched over the tack strips?

I'm doing my living room with existing pad and tack track thats about 15 years old. Will it still perform the job of holding onto the carpet or do I need to replace the tack tracks with new?? Thanks!
@russty36 Check if there is any rot and if it is in good shape fine maybe all you have to do is add some tack nails to make sure it is secure to the floor, and that the tacks are not rusted I've used tack strips just as old. So 1. not rotted, 2. secure to floor 3. upper tacks are not rusted and fragile
You can rent a kicker at the rental for little money or buy a used on on Ebay or other auction sites. **As a noteleave the tack strips at leasy a 1/2 inche from wall so you can fold in carpet edge!
