  • sin is sin..and none of us are free of it, not one of us. only Jesus was free of sin and perfect. what jennifer knapp's music has done for me and millions of others, God will bless her for. the important thing is that whether we support her or not, we pray for God's will. the same can be said of the rigid baptists who say this kind of music is sin! yet, her music speaks such truth. until i heard this song, i never grasped the true meaning of God's grace. and btw i'm not gay just in love with God

  • Homosexuality is sin. Just like pride. But I don't protect pride as part of who I am, I remember what christ accomplished for me that I couldn't do myself, renew my mind and glorify God by doing so. Endorsing or protecting homosexuality by any means does not glorify God, just like any other disobedience. God loves you so much, anyone, but that didn't mean you can do what you want and think that it means you're doing it for God.

  • *or

  • Plus, where did this idea of pointing out someone elses hypocrisy justify your own? Or calling out others on their sin to condone yours? The speck of dust and log in the eye example is important to remember concerning judgement; but reproof is the way of life, proverbs says. Read 1 tim 3:16. Our all of romans 1 through 8 for that matter.

  • Sin is sin, no? Don't present sin as part of your identity if you are christian. If you are, you aren't acknowledging half of what the gospel is. yeah, homosexuality is no greater of a sin, but no, it's not who you are. And trying to stand up for homosexuality and equality in that sense in the christian community neglecting to remember what you need to put off and put on in it's place. As a christian you don't condone or support any sin because you died with christ and are dead to sin.

  • @OrdinryCandyMan i'll be the first to admit when jennifer knapp admitted to being gay, i was confused. how could a woman who puts out such incredible music, be gay? i know what the Bible says about homosexuality, but i also know what it says about fornication and adultery. yet, how many of us can honestly say we never fornicated? is that less of a sin? ultimately, it will take the power of the Holy Spirit to convict her, not a bunch of ppl condeming her. we need to pray for God's will...

  • If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her. John 8:7

Homosexuality is a sin like lying, lusting, and being faithless to God are sins, and it's us, not God, that creates a hierarchy of wickedness. All sins are equal, and all sins are equally redeemable through the one thing that matters: our acceptance of Christ's love and forgiveness.

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? Matthew 7:3

  • @briecheese100 This is a verse that is often used out of context. It says ,

"How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

Notice it says AFTER you remove your plank then you can help your brother/sister with their sin. Judgement is not discernment nor rebuke.

  • @rocker123cc I agree with you. However, there is far too much judgment that pretends to be rebuke. There are plenty of "Christians" who believe that a person's homosexuality is a definitive indicator that they'll go to hell. These are people that do not care to help remove the sawdust; they seek only to condemn.

I meant only to address untempered, hypocritical judgment. There's plenty in the Bible addressing rebuking someone out of love and concern for them, but it's an entirely different thing.

  • @briecheese100 Yes I do believe that too. Rebuke must be from a place of concern and fear for the person's soul. And also I don't agree with singling out one sin as being greater than another, such as homosexuality is a "greater" sin than a "small white lie", because sin is sin, and both are equally in danger of God's wrath and final judgement if not turned from in repentance.

  • Bless You Jennifer - and thanks for such inspirational music

  • Great song, and what an amazingly strong woman she is. Thank you Jen for helping open the door for other gay Christians. As a Pansexual Christian woman seeing your strength has been inspiring!

  • I love this song but my heart breaks for her as a person.

  • Faith is about God. Religion is man's interpretation of God to other men. Man is corrupt so therefore Religion will always be corrupt. It's about your spiritual relationship with God. Not whether people at a church decide whether you are worthy of God. Why don't people focus on themselves instead of judging other people? This isn't a country club that you get to decide who comes in and who doesn't. Her relationship with God is her relationship. Bless her courage.

  • @crayzgurl7 what you said "Religion is man's interpretation of God to other men"....YES! That's absolutely spot on right.

  • DADDY HAVE MERCY ON JEN PLEASE GOD PUT HERE BACK ON TRACK.

LOVE YOU JEN YOUR MUSIC ROCKS.

  • I am a christian. I am a lesbian. To all of the christians that will Damn me to hell, I will love you, pray for you, and see you in Heaven. God Bless!

  • @nicoledanieal What a delightful, wonderful, Christian attitude you have! Many Christians will be surprised to find who all they meet up with in Heaven, won't they? :)

  • Through the weaknesses, through the refining fire, through the trials and through the afflictions of life may His grace be sufficient for you.

  • I love you Jen!

  • What a fantastic song. His grace is deeper and wider than any of us can conceive.

  • umm just want to say that your suposed to hate the sin NOT the sinner... this song is so amazing!

  • It's too bad she will never have any children!

Such beauty was meant to be perpetuated!

  • No Joel, it''s a sin the same way having sex outside of marriage is a sin, the same way lying is a sin, the same way cheating on your spouse is a sin, the same way blasphemy is a sin. Eating lobster is a sin only for a Jew, the other sins are universal for all men under the same covenant. Homosexuality is a sin, a particularly blasphemous sin and those who practice or promote it are anathema. It's pretty simple really.

  • @Rykydog The same way being fat is a sin, the same way smoking a cigarette is a sin, the same way eating food with unnatural chemicals is a sin, the same way seeking political power is a sin. Get over it. Everything is a sin these days and the sooner we stop focusing on the things we're NOT supposed to do and focusing on our OWN relationships with God (it's very remove the plank from your own before removing the speck from your brother's) the better everything will become.

  • Here's yet another good person who you Christians will destroy because a philosophically dysfunctional, bronze age storybook says you must. You people will reject this talented spirit in order to uphold ancient myths and stupidities of people from a very different time. YOU CANT PRAY GAY AWAY. GET THAT THROIUGH YOU HEADS!!!! bullheaded, deluded idiots

  • @nosajj12345 Keep in mind she says she's a Christian and "lives" by the same "storybook" that Christians are called to live by.

  • @themou2008 Oh I know she's Christian. And I'm sure she spent years well aware that she was devoting herself to a belief system that viewed her as subhuman. And I hold her just as indictable for her weakness of mind and gullibility that allowed her to be taken in by this absurd, hypocritical, cruel institution. But my point of focus was not on the fact that she is Christian. I merely wanted to bring to light how a bronze age STORYBOOK can turn poeple into true monsters.

  • @nosajj12345 You know what... I think it's time to pray for you! :)

  • @zefanyae LOL....no no please don't pray for me. Prayer is a form of psychological slavery. I am a moral person therefore I don't believe in slavery.

  • Well, that's another one I'll never have a chance with...lol

  • how sad. a girl so beautiful and so on fire for God turns to the homosexual lifestyle without any repentance. All we can do is pray for her.

  • @themou2008 She's been in a long term relationship since 2002. She didn't turn to it. She was born that way.

  • @joelhisaw Yes! We're all unknowingly born into a manifestation of sin. But, once we know it's sin, we have a choice to turn from it or not. The Bible calls homosexuality a sin. Did she consciously make a decision "Gee...I'm gay"? Heavens no. But...when she saw the Bible listed it as a sin, she should repent.

  • @themou2008 It's a 'sin' in the same way that eating lobster is a 'sin.' If there is an omniscient creator of the universe, I bet the last thing she worries about is what gives someone an erection. If she did though, maybe she should be more worried about child rape in churches than consensual adult relationships.

  • @themou2008 How many other things in the Bible are listed as sin that people involved in the church are guilty of that are grabbing the proverbial pitchfork to go after JKnapp? You do not have the authority to tell anyone else how to lead and live their lives or orchestrate the choices that they make, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. The sooner you forget about worrying about who else is saved, the more you'll realize you're just as damned.

  • @themou2008 amen... tis so sad, i just found this out... wow im behind i guess.

  • She is not ours any longer. She now dresses a different team uniform .

    ( Romans 1: 24 to 32 )
