Kirat means Mongoloid people and native of the himalayas in Sanskrit. so any mongoloid ethnic group who have been living in the himalayas region since the himalayas region was known as Kiratdesh is kirat. Kirat civilization is old as the Chinese civilization and kiratas do not discriminate one another or others. You don't have to change your thar. just call yourself kirat-gurung and be proud.
