  • I cant even air drum to bonham... :0 7:13

  • At 7:20 my google chrome crashed from the epicness :)

  • There are are only two bands that never fail to amaze in the fullness of the term and Led Zeppelin is one of them brethtaking even after all those years.

  • Wandering and wandering..

  • This has to be in my top 5 of all zeppelin songs, but I would probably have to squeeze 15 to 20 nto that top 5. Anyway, this song rocks as hard as any song ever written!!!

  • @kidsTeachGuitar2kids

I think everyone can agree that this song was way way ahead of it's time.

It came out in 1976 but is just as progressive as anything you'd hear nowdays!

I remember when I first heard this song. It was the summer of '76 and I was only 15 years old. There was absolutely nothing out there like it! Amazing!

  • Oh that takes me back, I was 17 and enjoyed every minute of their performance. The sun was shining, atmosphere electric, sound was perfect - awesome. Absolute QUALITY.

  • You know most every other great band I can think of had a rhythm AND a lead guitarist (Stones, GNR, Beatles, Clash) and the ones that didn't like The Who or U2 had no lead parts. Jimmy did both on some really complex pieces....and nothing got more complex than this...there's at least 6 guitar parts on the album. This is absolute FUCKING amazing. Jimmy and Jimi are the Guitar Gods. Simple as that!

  • @ 7:13 was a Thunder strike improvised OMG mortal combat cum when you do 50 hits combo fill. Bonham the best ever!!!!!!!

  • I love jimis style. he doesn't sound like a guitar-robot ^^

  • I thot it sounded great! Every guitatist misses notes, but the best make up for it with improvisation, and this is exectly wat Page does here. He always improvs on Stairway To Heaven, theres many variations of the solo.

  • First Zep song I ever heard and my favourite. Sublime drumming by Bonzo and in my opinion, his greatest hour. Any kid who wants to play should sit down and listen to this track and listen to a genius at work. It will be the ony inspiration that they will ever need....it certainly was for me. R.I.P, J.B..

  • I feel like I'm watching gods perform their art.

  • My fav four Zep songs(Babe i'gonna i'm leave you, since i've been loving you, no quarter and achilles last stand).Abstract choice maybe but Achilles last stand is a monumental song title performed by an exceptional band.

  • I love Jimmy Page, but why do the camera people constantly miss Jonesy playing that wicked bass line. Come on!

  • Don't you love all the little sheep in the comments telling everybody that this is crap, because somebody told them that Page was crap after '77 because of the heroin. They don't even have ears of their own, somebody tells them something and they parrot it. Pathetic. This is a fucking triumph and here's some news for you sheep....a lot of '77 and after Zep is among their BEST. Look for the "Listen to this Eddie" boot as just one example.

  • @streetparade well my friend, let me put it this way. Jimmy Page on heroin>most guitar players

  • brilliant, the first few camera views made bonzo look like he was sitting in a Tank! all you see is the top of his head..shooting grooves all over the place..Amazing.

  • I cum at 7:13

  • Holy shit!!! beautiful song!!!!

  • I love Page and Zeppelin but Page should really return the money fans paid that night. It is more comical than anything to watch this. LOL

  • JPJ carried them those last years. I hate to say it. But in the studio, they were brilliant. But onstage, from what I've seen, Page was pretty sloppy.

  • @webgeek6 page was a master at improvising i have no idea what you are talking about

  • @floopsie666 Jimmy is he man don't get me wrong.. But listen to the difference of Led Zep albums vs say 1973 MSG concert or 1979 Knebworth concert. He just doesn't hit every note as clearly as he does in studio... idk maybe he fixed mistakes in the studio, thats why he doesn't sound as clean live.. It's hardly a diss at the man, + he was doped out on H his last few years with LZ, esp once poor old John Bonham passed way. Duane Allman is my #1, Eric Clapton #2, Page is a #2 or #3!!!

  • @MrGeltabs The Studio recordings had about 6 different guitar tracks dude, Take it for what it is a magical live performance!!

  • @195952 yea about six and page did them all in one night. #cocaineisahelluvadrug

  • @MrGeltabs Duane Allman pleassssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeee?

  • @195952 "Duane Allman pleassssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeee?" Hey we each have our own opinions and judging by your response your's isn't even worth acknowledging.. we'll just leave it at that.

  • @floopsie666 btw I feel the same about Jimmi Hendrix. The man was an awesome showman/ blues player, but he too got sloppy playing live.... Fuck it its probably all the acid they were taking lol

  • @MrGeltabs lol prolly yeah but amazing men regardless

  • Perfection. Led Zeppelin always. And eff Mr. Page for being so good looking. Awmg! D'x

  • Hate it that I'm a product of today but if I wasn't id definitely been there.......fuck my birthdate

  • This is by far one of the best Zeppelin songs, even though I love all of them. Rock on Led Zeppelin, love you guys!

  • I love Led Zepellin...Jimmy Page is a genius as a songwriter and on the studio. But he never gets the same level playing on a live performance...:( Sad, but true.

    Alchool?? Drugs??

John Bonham and John Paul Jones always be great, on the studio and playing live in the Zep show!! The same level than the studio recordings!! Great musicians!!

  • @gevirtual1 Watch there earlier stuff, ie from '68 to '75 he was at his best between then, his later stuff was bogged down with drug addictions etc...

  • Bad song Achiles was an epic and mythic hero, this song is a very bad rendition. sorry for the Dead Zep fan, but this band is really overrated !

  • @ploermel56490 you must be a product of today.....I feel sorry for you.

  • @freakshow2000 I'm sorry but you're totally wrong I began to listen rock music at the end of 60's and i liked very much 70's. Beside of that I like classic music. For sure I'm not a product of today.

  • @ploermel56490 Troll

  • @milominder :- P

  • When Man Has Discovered Time Travel I'm Going To Knebworth 1979

  • This Jimmy Page's favorite Zeppelin tune..

  • "GREEN EASY CHAIR" MUSIC,(I.E.BEATINGS) BONES BROKEN,SOME HOW SOME WAY ,I'LL MAKE IT I'LL BE GREAT LIKE "JIMMI PAGE" HE HAS BODY GUARDS,CAN'T BEAT ON HIM,I WANT THAT,THIS MUSIC SAVED MY LIFE!!!,,,I MADE IT ,HERE I AM "KEVIN JOSEPH O'CONNELL" CHECK OUT MY IMPOSSIBLE GUITAR PLAYING,CALLED "AZUL" ( I'M WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT) I'M POWERFULL NOW WITH MY BROKEN JAW,AND BROKEN NOSE,,,,I'M ALIVE,I MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have never seen Jimmy Page have so much fun in any other video......that smile....WOW....you know he hit it on the head.....no feeling like it...and he shared it with all...again...WOW!!!!

  • i was there

  • oh man jimmy was wasted look at the amount of sweat on his shirt i think he shouldve worn his old dragon suit so he wouldnt melt still not as bad as live aid performance where he turns into golem from lord of the rings

  • *-*

  • Where the hell are Bonzo and Jonesy? B.S. editing/camera work. Led Zep was more than Page/Plant. This sucks.

  • @Romany1111 No kidding. I wanted to see exactly what type of 8-string Jones is playing in this.

  • Jimmy Page said this was the best Led song he ever wrote.

  • Hey does anyone know how to play the intro riff when the drums kick in?!?

  • so me falta ver o jimmy eo jones adorava ver os zeppelin juntos mesmo com o filho do bonham seria inesquecivel

  • god he is

  • I was aged 16, i was about 100 yards from the stage and during this piece. I remember being bored so i went of to the toilets to jack off about PBANDSNOW1's friends sister

  • its performances like this that make you wonder what might have been if only JB could have eased off the bottle a little bit.he is an animal...a primitive beast channeling the most raw of artistic expression in the most forceful of ways.

  • @c9castine

I got no complaints with JP's playing! Don't see the point about the bottle!

  • @guitarttimman he said JB not JP meaning bonham was into the bottle a bit to much.

  • @outlawslaw1

even worse! JB was the BEST drummer who ever picked up the sticks!

  • To this day. I have never discovered a band who consistently produced, a better album every bloody time. Talk about NOT resting on your laurels. Great lesson learned , never in life, accept your last accomplishment, as, the best that you have, to deliver. Never be satisfied.

  • @martock36 - Exactly...and you know they are great when they have so many songs over 5 minutes long..and each one is good..and each one can be put on repeat =}

  • @martock36 I agree they kept getting better..when I was growing up this was the quality of music I was listening to...now it's all crap where's rock and roll..has it died?

  • @martock36 i`ve been a life long fan of led zep and i agree with you but i think pink floyd done a bloody good job on their albums upto the point roger waters left!

  • insane drumming.....

  • Godly drumming...

  • these right here were the days, good times \m/

  • love this performance

  • its its...... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Knebworth, England, 1979.

  • Jimmy Page was unbeatebale at the time

  • who cares about the video, let the music drive you...

  • 7:12 Jesus Bonzo!

  • the only thing I hate is that in the era of Zeppelin doesn't exist the digital camera and the high definition, I'd love that the video was better.

  • @GNRockable

    better quality here...

    /watch?v=U8ZeZ_VO8AU

  • when this song came out i was 9 yrs old,now im 40 and i love love runing to this song on the tredmill,,,

  • thanks for vid! i know it's not your fault but I hate when camera men shoot only singer and guitarplayer. There's only few times when Bonzo shown more than 2 secs :). but anyway it's amazing footage!

  • Thee, BEST DRUM lick, EVER

  • Led Zeppelin has had weak moments as far as live performance goes. But It's ironic that the song about being weak or vulnerable is one of there most ferocious, heavy and powerful.

  • How can you not feel something in your heart after listening to these magic 9 minutes!!!?!!

  • 1 time ever hearing this song ....amen...fall into the guitar playing.

  • IN CONCERT AND BEYOND "LED-ZEPPELIN"!!! ROCK ON!!!!!!

  • great, great, greaaaaaaat!!!!!!!

  • go bonzo go

  • 18 year birthday bought this album fabulous

  • Ya mon, best band ever. Caught two shows in Chicago in '77 when I was 16. These guys got me through some hard times. Great lp. For Your Life is also incredible. Check out Warren Haynes if you get the chance.

  • How does this only have 375,000 views?

  • Gods

  • Whoever thinks Page fucked up this solo is out of their mind. This was probably the best live version that Zep ever played of Achilles.

  • @gjrock70

i saw the band on several tour's lol call me nut's but i don't know if they weren't their best at this show. ... even with consideration to condition of best guitar-player in the world.

  • It was awesome to be there, on my right arm tattoo'd 3 entwined circles, BONZO BONHAM WAS GOD.

  • OMG BEST SONG EVER BY LED ZEPPELIN!!!

  • best song ever! Also waesome how no one is hating on it. then again, how could anyone hate 4 Gods??

  • I was aged 16, I was about 100 yards from the stage and during this piece I remember a kind of... I'll call it blinding white, gut-shaking, rainbow-coloured, joyous, electrifying heat (and cold) rolling in huge waves from the wide, wide stage over us in the crowd. Excuse the metaphors, it's the only way I can do the memory justice. Takes me back... :-)

  • @rosgiles IT WAS CALLED ACID!

  • @TheSuperguitarman59

    Not guilty ;-)

The only substances in my bloodstream that evening were a couple of cans of Cola. Zep did it all for me. Actually these videos don't do any justice to the light show. No projections and suchlike back then, but the stage itself was just so huge and the light design was often very imaginative and full of contrasts. Not just different pretty colours. Maybe one kind of 'light theme and variations' for one song, then something quite different for the next song.

  • @rosgiles I drove with a group of friends hundreds of mile to see Zeppelin. Bonham died a few weeks later. Out of all the concerts I saw during the 70"s {and there were a lot of them} Zeppelin will always be my favorite. Watching John Bonham play Moby Dick live was so amazing. No one else can come close. I would like to go back in time, walk up to him, slap him up the side of the head and yell. Stop using that shit.....

  • @pengeo100

Yeah, it seems like they were mostly starting to get themselves together again when he died. Although Bonzo obviously still had a big problem...

  • so how much lsd were you on

  • @rosgiles

you've done just fine, here. you're taking me there.

  • @rosgiles Lucky, lucky. lucky.....If I was there I probably would of dropped dead....what a masterful performance....

  • Fucking killer performance from the whole band. THIS is epic. God what I wouldn't give to see them all live.

  • Zeps most underrated song. Bonham is so fucking awesome in this one.

  • Page's face is like, "Damn, it's fun to play these riffs I made!"

  • geez mr cameraman you do know there are 4 members of Led Zeppelin.i really hate how cameramen who filmed concerts back in the day only focused on the singer and lead guitar..Jeff Stein had to film a concert for the Kids are Alright because he couldnt find any good clips of the band that featured all of The Who

  • this song is basicly a summery of most zeppelin songs.....AMAZING

  • god this song is so amazing its an enticing epic

  • greatest song ever made, period

  • who ever disliked this can suck on my cock

  • @PBANDSNOW Hope you get a Whole Lotta Love.

  • @PBANDSNOW how did that work out for ya lolz

  • @PBANDSNOW come on achilles, don't let this be you're last stand an fuck her!!!!!!!!!!

  • @PBANDSNOW lol go for it kid. dont be scurred, its only pussy.

  • The mighty arms of Zeppelin holds the rock world by the balls...by the balls...baaaallllsssss balls baaallls.

  • 4:41 this is how is feel to be the greatest musician ever (sorry for the english)

  • God begins the stairway to try to get Zep.

  • I like the studio solo better :)

but the the rest of the song live is very awesome :D

  • @championofhardrock yeah but the live riff is more powerful

  • @llvllasta77 yea! thats what i meant :D!

  • I get it and I love this! They sound awesome here.

Jimmy Page was so awesome oh man!

  • Jesus loves Led Zeppelin....

  • Sorry Pink Floyd. Its almost 4am here....Woke up and just needed to hear some Zep. That eva happen to any of my Zep sisters and brothers?

  • Look Im a Pimk Floyd fan as well but for the 12 ppl that think their more harder than Zeppelin are tone deaf. Pink Floyd is on another whole level. Calmer acid rock feel. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple are the true pioneers of Heavy metal.

  • You either GET Page....or you don't. Brilliant composition!

  • 12 people think Pink Floyd is more hard rocking than Zeppelin

  • Frank Zappa and Zeppelin are great but even Zappa loved Zeppelin.

  • fuckin sweet

  • Feel free to slag on Page all you want , All of their songs have 10 guitar parts on the recordings , Page only covers 8 1/2 of them live , Feel free to try that sometime.

    good luck with that

  • I wish there was a video showing John Bonham's foot during this song

  • i love it when pagey looks like a blowfish ~~~~~haha

  • @spoon149 Frank Zappa is NOT better than Led Zeppelin.

  • @JnthnHuerta I LOVE zeppelin second most abundant band on my ipod next to zappa, However Zappa's music is so complicated and beautiful. With zappa your never too sure what hes going to throw at you. you can never guess the next note. With jimmy he tends to stay in the pentatonic and major/minor scales/modes. Where zappa creates his own from scratch not to mention he wrote all of the scores for his avante garde band (listen to the bells in Pygmy twylyte.) youll understand

  • @JnthnHuerta Ive been listening to zep for like 40 years..I kinda think frank zappa is the bigger guitar player..not really to sure

  • I think this is the best live version of this song!

  • Bonham was pretty deep into smack @ this point i believe

  • As far as I'm concerned Jimmy Page is one of the Guitar Gods that walk this Earth.

  • @excalibr

let me guess u're a genius right !??

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • E.P.I.C.

  • jimmy page ftw

  • thanks for unintentionally telling me that you're not the biggest fan or even not a fan at all..just like you took the time to say they're boring i took the same amount of time to tell you your opinion isn't view as a majority but a minority.

  • i hope by the time i get into heaven all the members of zeppelin are there as well so i can see them live.

  • @NoobyNoobzX3 go to heaven for the climate, hell for the company, so go to hell! =D

  • yeah he fucked up the solo but he was fucked up on heroin here bad. just look at his shirt. the band wasn't in their best shape at this point in time

  • i think it's time to rewatch the Led Zeppelin DVD

  • Achilles tendon allows one to stand thus the wheel chair comment.

  • I tried hard to like LZ. I really did guys. It's just that Robert Plant is more tone deaf that I've ever imagined possible and some of Jimmy Page's licks are just boring. I'll give you that they put a lot of passion into their music but you could put a lot of effort into taking a shit and still get shit as a result. ARGUMENT COMMENCE!

  • @timkick2 Thats your opinion.

But you can't say robert is tone deaf like its fact its just your opinion

  • @kildare97

I know it's my opinion. Seeing as though I don't have any facts cited in my comment it can only be my opinion. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

  • @timkick2 Suppose but hey at least I didn't say something like

'STFU YOU RETARD''Which would generally happen

  • @timkick2 hey bud don't worry your entitle to your opinion

imo your opinion sucks pretty bad but then again there's only 1 out of every million that are not fans so i can't say too much

  • @NYJ4CK

Care to cite where you got your data? I'll have to get kildare97 to weigh in about opinions if you don't.

  • @timkick2 yeah sure just check a couple of the these zep videos on youtube out you can barely spot a dislike from one person..play some zep in your neighborhood and see if the neighbors get mad or tell you to crank it up..ask every person you run into tommorow and ask "hey you like zep?" you probably get 10 % at the most of a response such as "they're okay" or "no i don't like them"..once again im not going to bash your ass b/c ppl are entitle to what they like and don't like..

  • @NYJ4CK

It seems to me that you are under the impression that because a large number of people have positive opinions about LZ those opinions can be regarded as either a fact or standard. So what if there's a lot of people that like the band. That doesn't somehow mean everyone has to

  • @timkick2 but...... bonham

  • @wormsrock

I enjoy both Bonham and JPJ. They're both exceptional musicians. The other two I can't say many positive things about.

  • @timkick2 why would you say that? it took these 4 guys to make up the band called Led Zeppelin. People complain about Page not being the best guitarist who ever lived but he created more timeless music then anyone else from this era.

  • I remember one of the first times i listened to this song was a rainy April morning, like in the song. Was out hanging out with friends, glow in the dark mini putt and stuff. Every time I hear this song I think of that day :D

  • Love this band, they are the ultimate in rock!

  • its just a real shame that they dont show hardly any footage of john paul jones

  • do u guys know what jimmie was going thru at this time

  • @DaftMurloc His heroin binge? All of them were feeling it. Bonham got into drinking.

  • its nice to see jimmy smiling

  • this is retired Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns favourite song!!!!!!!!

  • this is my favorite zeppelin song

  • 11 people have clearly no recognition of genius and the solo is not shit as some people put it , i challenge you to play this song its fking monster and from my fave zep album.

  • Bonham took lessons from God. He learned them well.

  • @beautifulsarah100 you mean god took lessons from bonham XD

  • its jimmys favorit song:))

  • What's wrong with that solo? It's shit

  • @TaroGabunia Your existence is shit. You're literally God's shit. He felt like taking a giant shit one day, probably after eating some Cherrios while listening to this awesome masterpiece... and so here you are.

  • @TaroGabunia shit how?

  • @eatthisvr6 That solo is sloppy

  • @TaroGabunia i wish i was that shit!

    its dripping with emotion

technically you have a point but its not that sloppy

iv heard 4 people make a guitar really sing hendrix clapton page and knopfler imho jimmy is easily top of that list

  • @eatthisvr6 I'd put Hendrix on the top of that list

  • Did the even understand how amazing the were? How awesome they ARE!?
