But I am disappointed by the lack of feedback by viewers on the message in the video that the smear campaigns that brought down ACORN and are trying to end PP are based on lies and leave out facts. In my own country alone there were less than 1000 abortions per year before it became far easier to perform, now we have 18,000/year which for a population of 4 million is a lot. Few women risked having an abortion unless having the child threatens their health more, before abortion became widely accepted. 95% of abortions now are not for the reasons of rape, incest or health of the mother.

P.P. teaches that you can have the issue of VD or pregnancy, but they also teach, don't worry about it, we can fix your problem if it should happen. Thats the wrong attitude. Actually, maybe many people didn't know, but I had planned parenthood come teach us about sex ed in middle school and they didn't tell us to have sex. In fact, they preached abstinence. What did they teach us was if we ever decided to have sex, how we could protect ourselves from getting STDs. I think it's good. Even though my mother was open about sex and taught me many things of what I should do, it was good to have a reinforcement. Some kids only get that.

PP is a vital part of keeping young teens safe and educated about sex. we can argue all day about whether or not abortion is okay or not. that can be said about anything else - tobacco, drinking, certain other drugs - but it should still be the choice of the person to choose what they think is ok for them. PP needs to be around to educate kids who don't know what they're doing. you can't stop kids from having sex. teach them about abstinence but if they want to have sex, help them do it safely.

If a fetus could be separated from the mother and still be living then it could be declared a living person and that would be a different story. It's ultimately up to the mother whether or not she's willing to bear through the pregnancy.

Planned Parenthood has been around since the early 20th century, and has since been the single greatest force in educating the grotesquely ignorant / misinformed American public about birth control, venereal disease, menstruation, and sexual health - all of which are topics apparently well beyond the maturity level of house conservatives. Well hey, if you want to live your life with a 5 year old's understanding of sexuality, be my guest, but legislation that affects everyone is for grown ups.

But I am disappointed by the lack of feedback by viewers on the message in the video that the smear campaigns that brought down ACORN and are trying to end PP are based on lies and leave out facts. Enough with the back alley argument. Very women would risk having an abortion if there wasn't a serious reason to have one (such as rape, or risk to her health), as such, most pro-life identifiers have little problem with abortions of such nature. Reducing Planned parenthoods ability to perform abortions would only greatly reduce 'convenience' abortions which should be highly illegal anyway. Look up abortion prior to Roe v Wade; the criminalization of abortion did literally nothing to lower the rate of abortion, it only led women to attempt self-induced abortions, or seek untrained practioners looking to profit from from the demand. As a result, many women - far more than you have postulated - became very ill, lost functionality of their reproductive organs, or even died. The facts are not on your side.

Bullshit. Look up the actual statistics of abortion. In my own country alone there were less than 1000 abortions per year before it became far easier to perform, now we have 18,000/year which for a population of 4 million is a lot. Few women risked having an abortion unless having the child threatens their health more, before abortion became widely accepted. 95% of abortions now are not for the reasons of rape, incest or health of the mother.

Planned parenthood was formed in 1916 ( then known as "The American Birth Control League") and provided primarily contraceptive and sexual health services and was unable to provide abortions because of restrictive state laws until 1973 (Roe v Wade). It's far and away their biggest single source of income outside of the $364,000,000 they get in tax dollars. They have been caught time and again violating laws, falsely billing the government, and coaching minors on how to get abortions illegally. The prenatal statistic was an error, that's how many women they referred to adoption agencies and comes from their 2008 annual report.

P.P. teaches that you can have the issue of VD or pregnancy, but they also teach, don't worry about it, we can fix your problem if it should happen. Thats the wrong attitude. Conservative Logic: Teach Abstinence ONLY (by gov't decree). If they get pregnant, LEGALLY force them to have the baby (by gov't decree). If they can't afford to take care of the baby, blame the parents (that were FORCED by the gov't to have the baby) for being poor and refuse THE CHILD health care (personal responsibility, and all). THEN they claim to be the party that 'wants to keep gov't out of our personal lives'?

@pyr666 On the one hand, innocent until proven guilty means these companies are unlikely to win a slander case against the Republicans. On the other hand, it means that all the evidence against them that was obtained illegally or proven to be unreliable is useless, and any funding that's stopped is done so without justification. I know it's illegal to fire someone for no reason, so can Acorn and PP work with that? Or are they just screwed?

So no, they are NOT supporting or encouraging child prostitution. They were doing there job by trying to help the people who come in, but they knew something was wrong and they turned it over to the FBI. But by the time THAT got to the media, the hype was already spread so far it couldnt retract.

Some conservative hack (in the mode of James 'Doctored ACORN Tapes' O'Keefe) tried to do an undercover sting where the CONSERVATIVE HACK claimed to have child prostitutes that were trafficked from a foreign country that needed services. The PP people told them to 'not worry about that' and to 'just bring the children in to be treated'... then after they left, IMMEDIATELY called the FBI to report it. FACT!

Actually, maybe many people didn't know, but I had planned parenthood come teach us about sex ed in middle school and they didn't tell us to have sex. In fact, they preached abstinence. What did they teach us was if we ever decided to have sex, how we could protect ourselves from getting STDs. I think it's good. Even though my mother was open about sex and taught me many things of what I should do, it was good to have a reinforcement. Some kids only get that.

That means it cost each tax payer less than .01¢. These are either VICTIMS or women that wanted to have the baby but couldn't or they would have DIED.

I'm not christian and i don't have much of a problem with abortions (except late term), but i see no reason to fund such an organization. I'm against all forms of welfare and handouts, including corporate welfare. Christians believe in charity - voluntary charity - not charity collected by an IRS thug with a gun and the threat of prison

PP is a vital part of keeping young teens safe and educated about sex. we can argue all day about whether or not abortion is okay or not. that can be said about anything else - tobacco, drinking, certain other drugs - but it should still be the choice of the person to choose what they think is ok for them. PP needs to be around to educate kids who don't know what they're doing. you can't stop kids from having sex. teach them about abstinence but if they want to have sex, help them do it safely.

If a fetus could be separated from the mother and still be living then it could be declared a living person and that would be a different story. It's ultimately up to the mother whether or not she's willing to bear through the pregnancy.

Planned Parenthood has been around since the early 20th century, and has since been the single greatest force in educating the grotesquely ignorant / misinformed American public about birth control, venereal disease, menstruation, and sexual health - all of which are topics apparently well beyond the maturity level of house conservatives.
