They showed old Danny Kaye movies when I was about 10 eyars old..... I developed a HUGE crush during that month on him... And this movie was one of my favorites (OK, a LOT of them were my favorites, that guy jsut amde me laugh.... Expecially the Finnish extra they showed at the end XD that was hilairous! )
Super! The second time I've watched the video without the sound, concentrating on the dance. I repeat: su-per! Dancers like Kaye and Ellen were Numer One than --- and they remain Number One today as well!
Man, they just don't make movies like this anymore, and it's a damn shame. I bet most young directors out there wouldn't know how to make a movie like this if their lives depended on it. I realize I totally sound like an old curmudgeon, but I'm in my early 30s. I guess my folks just raised me right.
@nextbighit123 she's supposed to - it's quite difficult, actually, while you are dancing. The photgraphic technique of looking off to the side didn't really come about until the late eighties or early nineties. Until then, if you wanted to 'include' the audience, you looked at the camera. In most couple-dance scenes, they looked at each other.
Most definitely one of my favourite movies. I adore it! Even my young nieces love it.
