Another great thing about Mike is the way he gives electric guitar sound a "body" or substance. It's not just pure screeching. The screeching is actually musical and melodic, which is why their songs can be covered and done in so many ways and genres. Their music has in itself, even without the lyrics, musical quality.

After playing it myelf I just answered my own question. YES. But I get timbre differences between picked and fingered notes so I have to travis pick the whole this with my fingers until the intro is over...

Yeah, it comes down to tastes I think. I find the pick/finger combo works nicely, some people prefer to use the pick for every string.

I've been playing for about 6 years, took about a year of lessons. Just having a guitar in my hands almost everyday helped the most. Even if you find a good instructor, you should still just keep playing what you love.

Nah, he just recorded the solo then reversed it later. If you have software that can do it, just cut that part out of the song and reverse it, it's pretty weird to hear.

For our first batch of videos (this one included) we were using a Boss DD-6. Now we have a Boss RV-3. But delay is delay. It doesn't really matter what pedal you use.

Last I checked, there still aren't any correct tabs. I learned this song first by watching live performances here on youtube, then by listening to the song over and over and sitting there with my guitar trying to see if what I figured out was right.
