  • @BarkerIsOnFire look at you, talkin like that to a 14 year-old! get a life

  • "thats where the memory card goes"

dude its a frikin rumble pack. the memory is stored on the cartdridge

  • @Zninja091 Actually there were memory cards for the N64 but not many games used them, but he's right by saying that were it used to go. Lego Racers was an example of a game that needed one. Don't be a dick.

  • can u stll buy this consloe

  • I actually can't offer much of an opinion. I only have a Genesis, so I haven't played on any other retro controller. I do find it works very well though, and I agree with his points on it, though the Genesis isn't the focus of this vid AT ALL :)

  • One thing he didn't mention was that the analogue stick ripped the skin off of your thumb...

  • Actually, I find the Mega Drive (genesis) controller to be one of the most frustrating because of its lack of grip. I find the horns of the N64 controller make it easier for me maintain a grip, and so is more precise.

  • Yes, I miss Sega vs Nintendo

  • the N64 controller rocked! it did not have x and y though. in ocarina of time, i didn't need to touch the d pad or l button unless i didn't want the map.

  • I never really noticed how similar the Wii Nunchuk is to the joystick/z trigger portion of the N6f controller.

  • Nintendo controllers seem to be similar, but in opposite generations. For example, the Wii Classic and Nunchuck together are pretty similar to this controller. And the Wii U controller has many similarities with the Gamecube controller. And also, the Nintendo 64 controller brought back the standard "A/B" buttons, ditching the X and Y of the SNES controller.

  • @niteflash06 i'm starting to notice a pattern: NES gamepad has a/b, SNES gamepad has a/b/x/y, N64 controller has a/b, GCN controller has a/b/x/y, Wii remote (excluding the nunchuck) has a/b, and upcoming Wii U controller will have a/b/x/y.

  • @spongebobcrazy24 Yeah. And ironically, the NES/N64/Wii seem to be their most notable systems yet. So their best success skips a generation. Although the Wii U tablet controller thing looks promising. I wonder if they will continue to sell plain Wii remotes for better motion gaming.

  • @niteflash06 well, it's confirmed that the wii u will be backwards compatible with the wii games and wii controller, so i'm sure that they won't stop selling the regular wii remote for a long time.

  • lol...deep head :3

  • dis sucks now the rivalry is between ps and xbox vs nintendo or ps vs xbox

  • I had soooo much trouble holding this controller when I was a child. Didn't know how I was supposed to hold it.

  • I like Nintendo but wii terrible controller I like Xbox 360 controller best feels really good in ur hand (that's what she said)

  • the gamecube controller is the most comfortable controller i have ever used - like if yu agree

  • i wish it was really an anolog stick instead of just a stick- then it would be smooth and not stiff

  • The nunchuck for the wii is based on the anolog stick part of this controller

  • the n64 controller makes complete sense in context for it was widely thought in japan that Americans had developed third arms

  • Actually the Gamecube controller somewhat represents the N64 controller. If you move the joystick and dpad and remove the middle handle.

  • @mpena614 Wow, I made that comment at beginning and he showed the GC at the end.

  • 3:13

omg it looks JUST like the nunchuck who sees it?

  • this guy dosnt know what hes saying the N64 control is good hes just a wussy with controls the Genesis one sucks! half of the time it dosnt work(I have one so i know)

  • lol!the genesis is better?you are way too stupid!!!really!

  • How this was found:We went to the moon, three armed aliens were playing this.(lul) Nobody knew about this except the astronauts. They killed the aliens, stole there consoles and controlers, and threw the bodies at the sun.The astronauts were amazed at the shape, and flew home with it.They have kept this secret to us forever until now.(thx if u read this)

  • It doesn't look like you have played much N64, your controller just looks so brand new. My N64 contoler has a completely tired out analog stick. I guess I've been playing to much Mario Party and Super Smash Bros...

  • i dislike sega genesis because i forget which button im using which ends up killing me a lot, favourite one is gamecube, all buttons different sized, i dont get why they need a z-button but not an L1/LB

  • D-pad was useless on N64 XD

  • @420bmxer That really depended on what games you had

  • @TheRealHackmaster i never used it man i think i used it once in one game the the joystick was the joy of the controller :D

  • does anyone know if i can plug my n64 controller to the back of the wii with the usb adapter?

  • well i have 3 hands so...every game was fun and easy

  • star fox 64 must have been pretty hard with that controller.

  • @il2sturmovikfb not really...if you ask how i know, lets just say....im stareing at an star fox 64 cartgage, N64, controller and a 13" TV.....

  • @il2sturmovikfb in addition to what i just said, the only downside was that the middle stick ALWAYS broke... but it was broke to a point that it was still useable......its so hard to manuvere in star wars rouge squadren with a broken stick.............

  • i JUST REALIZED THE NUNCHUK IS BASED OFF THE ND4'S MIDDLE!

  • i never had to use the D Pad...

  • thumbs up if your favorite controller is the n64 controller :D

  • @Doodle6771 I loved my N64 controller but the left third was completely pointless.

  • @Doodle6771 your a dumbdumb.the gamecube was.

  • @sonicxxxxxxxxxxful Actually,I really like the Gamecube one too :)

  • @Doodle6771 I love everything about the N64 and the controller, the only thing I hated is that the controller's stick wore out faster than anything :( I have 1 really good controller remaining and I play super carefully with it, I wish I could plug my gamecube controller into it instead

  • the original nunchuk

  • The N64 was really the first console I ever played with as a kid. I never had trouble with the controller, and I still don't. Still my favorite console to play with. I guess the biggest factor determining how easily maneuverable this particular controller is is the size of one's hands. Since Asian people are typically small in general, I guess it seemed like a good fit back home? I dunno. Not trying to be stereotypical or rude there. I've got super small hands, so it was never a problem with me.

  • Failed to mention the expansion port!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You were playing goldeneye allllll wrong.

  • the new SEGA CLUSTERF*** itll ruin their company fer sure

  • i have the pokemon edition nintendo 64

  • I don't see what's "creative" about making a piece of crap with 3 handles and triggers unnecessarily. Also, what I hated about the N64 controller is that most games forced you to use the joystick instead of giving you a choice, and in order to hold that stupid thing, your hands were in a really awkward position. It feels really cheap, and I've seen tons of N64 controllers with busted joysticks. On the other hand, my PS2 dual shock's analog sticks are just fine after about 10 years.

  • @DerStadtschutz ps2 doesnt have ocarina of time

  • @iaretheawesomeguy I know that, but this review is about the controller, and that's what I was talking about too, not the system. Besides, Ocarina of Time isn't even that great anyway. Brave Fencer Musashi was a lot more fun to play.

  • Ah, big hands. Problem is that goes both ways. What someone with big hands can hold easily, someone with small hands will find uncomfortable, and vice versa. I seem to be one of the few people that likes this controller, but it has one massive flaw, irrespective of what you think of the design; The analog stick on any controller older than about 2-3 years is usually worn out. How bad that is depends on how it was used. But the difference between new and worn out is huge...

  • only noobs don't know how to use a n64 controller

  • I find it probably worst controller of all, and I have many systems, but it's fun and fresh design as opposed to a more functional one. Gamecube controller is great on the other hand. Still not as functional as Playstation controller, but Sony is the one to not value innovativeness too much, at least on hardware side of things. Sega has history of creating the best controllers, I would say. Even Dreamcast, it mixes the fun gimmicks with function perfectly.

  • It's a dual shock with a nun-chuck sticking out.

  • I never realized how similar that middle thing was to the new nunchuk thing

  • I always really liked the n64 controller. Its easy to play tons of different types of games on it, it feels comfortable, and plus, its probly the most recognizable controller ever! :P

  • i think the n64 controller is not bad for games like zelda

  • Fuck yes Genesis controller

  • 3:19 Holy cow!

It's the Nunchuck! No wonder it ft familiar to me!

  • Nintendo took off that middle handle with the thumb stick and z button and basically created the nunchuk

  • This is almost as bad as the PS3's controller.

  • honestly i agree with mark this controller is uncomptable but works great i litarally played with this controller backwards and it was way more comptable for me

  • what about xbox 360 vs playstation 3

  • The only gripe i have with the controller is the control stick (Fuck you Mario Party!)

  • There is no 480p O.o

  • The n64 was the first console I've ever played. As it was inside a Mcdonalds I had to wait to get a go on Banjo Kazooie.

  • You've said ur favorite is genesis and play station wich is it

  • I just noticed the middle handle with the joystick and z button almost looks just like'the wii nunchuck, just think where the joystick z button and the molding is compared to the nunchuck... huh

    The more you know!!

  • @DoubleMGames ya i c it nice catch : )

  • i got an n64 from gamexchange and instead of 1 start button it has start and 3 other buttons

  • This controller is better than the PlayStation controllers

  • 0:31 Controversy started LOL

  • Comment removed

  • This controller is so underrated, anyways its great like the console where its from

  • I wonder how many hate comments I get?

    I hate that controller... -_-

  • Never seen anything like the trigger in the middle? As stated by other people, the middle is like LITERALLY the wii nunchuck

  • Just got a Boomerang 64 controller FOR FREE!!!

  • @RedWolf3487

O_o I just managed to find a picture of the controller you were talking about, how awkward is it to play with that thing? If you ever do a video review of it let me know, I'd actually be interested to hear about it lol.

  • @SamuraiRedux It's worth like $200 lol

It's actually pretty comfortable, especially if you have big hands. The button placement is pretty good, and it's overall a good controller, but not $200 good.

  • i have a green see through n64 controller

  • Why was he using his right hand on the joystick? You need your right hand on the button side at all times lol, I used to play with my right hand to the right and my left and in the middle for most games.

  • @bedtime420 Games like Goldeneye and fps you had to control the character with one and the aim with the pov ( analog )

  • My joy stick always would wear out. I probably went through 10 while i was playing the n64

  • I stick with the classic grey.

  • @fctar Let's just say three for now.

  • Uggh I hate the N64 controller.

  • Why would you use your left hand on the D-Pad and your right hand on the joystick? For most games you either use one or the other. Never both at the same time.

  • i always grabbed the middle with the left and the right with the obvious

  • i have a red and a blue and grey controller.. its awesome!

  • this looks like a really cool controller. i wish i had a N64 to play ocarina of time :D i play it on an emulator

  • I miss those days long before Mario and Sonic made this friendship ahaha!

  • This is my only gripe with the N64, poor controller design. The Gamecube has the most comfortable controller I've ever played with.

  • @scyther206 i have to agree with you i wasnt felling the N64 controller

  • mark you know you're supposed to use your left hand on the analog stick right?

  • The Gamecube controller took all the great and innovative concepts of the N64 controller and fixed all the bad design issues of the N64 controller.

  • I have a SICK yellow N64 controller!!

  • @GAM3R0525 Me too. Do you play the yellow cartridge version of DK64 with it? (Not trying to be sarcastic.)

  • I always hated this one, it's hard to play with. However, I think it looks cool.

  • This controller is strange... But, its on of the most comfortable controllers ever. The only one I think is more comfortable are the Gamecube controllers, nothing beats it.

  • I don't like the jostick being in the middle. But otherwise I like it.

  • I actually find this controller to be very very well built, it's one of my most favorite controllers of all time and found myself saying that this controller is more comfortable than the Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast Controller. Probably more comfortable than the PS1 Controller.

  • y do u need amemory card for a controller

  • Let me put it like this.

2 hands, and yet 3 handles.

  • Dear santa.....

  • I pick Mario over Sonic any day.

  • Do u need the memory card to go on the back of the controller?

  • For me the biggest design flaw was the entire left half of it due to the fact i never used the d pad or the left grip, the stick was a bit of a fail but overall i liked it

  • Back then, i never understood how to hold this controller lol

  • my fave is the game cubes controller

  • i have 3 and one,s green n one,s see threw and one,s grey

  • Its not comfortable, you just don't know how to make it comfortable.

  • I've never used the controller in another way other than my left hand on the middle prong on my right hand of the right prong.

  • @Banjokazooiemaster that means you never played kirby 64 because it was d-pad exlusive

  • @Caleb1upman No, I actually haven't.

  • @Banjokazooiemaster Well you should its a very good game ;)

  • did anyone notice the middle stick is almost the same as the nunchuch?

  • in my opinion, the n64s control stick either had too much or to litle resistance...

and what the hell was that grey powdery stuff in the pit?

    was that pulverized joystick?

  • @supercrapnstuff11 The paint they used on the well for the analog stick flakes off easily.

  • Its like a little crossbow in your hand *_*

  • Everyone! i noticed something! the middle part of the n64 controller ( with the analog stick) its the ninchuck for the wii!

  • @Blitzwing989 I burned my wii...

  • @Ryan0Ebbers a tragic death...whyd u do it?

  • did any one else notice the middle part of the conttroller seems like a nunchuk for the wii?

  • @dtweetable i've noticed ;)

  • Man n64 days ahhh good times. Man i had blisters some days when i was young.

  • @InecomCompany the thumbstick gets loose and then you need to push it on the side giving you a sore thumb.. because placing your thumb on top makes it slipp off.. at least mine did i always get slippery hands

  • @EZ4LB srry if you got those messages.. i thought you said uncomfortable

  • nintento put the middle wing with the analog stick on it because analog control had not been used since the days of atari and they were worried that analog control would not catch on with developers and gamers alike who had only used the digital directional control via D-pads since the days of atari. Thanks to Mario 64 the analog control did catch on and other hardware developers began to see the potential in analog control as well giving birth to a new analog controlled PS controller

  • @shanelawrence86 and everyone followed suit shortly after... this is the reason analog control is standard on all controllers now.

  • god i hated that controller at the time hands to small one analog stick sucked PlayStation with the two analog sticks was the best

  • @raywilliamjohnson it is very comfortable to hold though

  • The controller was made for people with 3 hands!!!!!

  • Did I just saw Viral Dog at the end of the video?

  • worst controller layout ever. You need 3 hands to utilize it's full capacity.

  • Just about everyone born in the 90's had an N64. Best console of it's time! I still play it till today :D

  • @blitze234 No man the playstation is the best console of that era.

  • "Last quite a while and not have any issues." He must not have played it much because that joystick is the first thing to go. Can't count how many I've seen with a worn out joystick.

  • I like the controller, except for the controll stick in the middle. It's a bit hard to reach.

  • 3:10 "i've never seen any other controller that *does this"

    * has a z button in that location

yeah, well what about the wii's nunchuck?

  • You know when i play n64 i hold both outer handles and my thumb reaches to the center joystick sometime ill make a video of it

  • i loved this controller, i still use one today

  • I never realized how similar the middle "arm" of this is to the Wii Nunchuck...

  • @niteflash06 And it also looks similiar to the Wii Classic controller.

  • @niteflash06 It's nearly the same! I've just compared it.

  • @niteflash06 yeah i just noticed that in this vid too

  • Best controller ever made. The game pak part gives it a stand and with a rumble pak makes the stand a bit better but it is amazing and if you have Godzilla hands then find a third party controller that the grips don't go low down I saw one for $5

  • I would just hold the controller on the outside handles and reach over with my thumb. It always felt weird to me to hold the middle handle.

  • Dont download adblock. Just mute your PC and scroll down the page and read the comments while waiting for the ad to finish ;) like waiting 20 seconds is a massive inconvenience.

  • This looks like a spaceship that should be fighting the Dreamcast controller. The battle rages on...

  • Rock solied. Tell me about that - I got hit with a gamecube controller in the head, on the ankle, on the shoulder, you know name it! HURTS LIKE A BITCH!

  • are u nuts this is the most and cooler controller ever!!!!

  • controllers

1st (tied) = Wii and GCN

2nd (also tied) = NES and SNES

    3rd = N64

  • @Mematman15 but i didnt say the n64 was the worst controller ever made

  • take out the long part of the n64 controller and it looks like a gamecube controller

  • I'm getting a Nintendo 64 with Banjo-Kazooie included.

    But anyways...

My favorte controller would probaly be the Playsytation 2 controller OR the Gamecube controller.

  • @MrPikmin16 OOOO man banjoo kazooie is awesome! so many good games for the 64

  • nintendo just took the center of the N64 controller, put motion control in it, slapped a C button on it, and said "this is the wii Nunchuck!"

  • @goooooooism Calm down.

  • @goooooooism dude, shut the fuck up

  • @SuperGamesLegend YOU SUCK BIG TIME YOU FUCKINH ASSHOLE IT FITS PERFECTLY IN YOUR HANDS YOU STUPID ASS!!

  • I recommend the Retro.

    It's way more fun.

  • N64 is the best Nintendo console yet. I own a wii and most of the game MIGHT equal the N64 or PS1.

    Uh damn shame.

  • I'm 6'2" and, even with my "adult hands," I can't think of a more perfect controller for fps's - even better than the WASD mouse setup as you don't have to lift a mouse up to scroll around. This guy just obviously isn't good enough at Goldeneye to realise how good this controller is. Speedrunners use it all the time.

  • Worst. Controller. Ever.

  • @marioarty Well that was abit of a overreaction wasn't it?

  • my nigga,you sound like a troll

    calm the hell down

  • @SuperGamesLegend BULLSHIT! The Nintendo 64 controller was a masterpiece controller. You really think it's the worst controller ever? HAH! As if! The worst controller ever has to be the Microsoft Sidewinder Pro for the PC! YOU CAN'T MOVE WORTH SHIT WITH THAT CONTROLLER!

I suspect you hate Nintendo and love beautiful graphics. Well kid, get with the times. Back then, the graphic qualities for the N64 were the best during the late 90s. Go back to trolling XBL and PSN for all I care.

  • @2:37:the molding looks like the wii nunchuck molding

  • i tried using a n64 controller and since it was too big i was not able to play one of my games that made you use all the buttons
