  • how do i contact tan guo jun ?

  • @purpleliquid you can contact him thru govin_tan@hotmail.com

  • the tabla guy started off too hard he should have started with a mellow compliting beat then build up to that intensity later in the middle or near the end... but freaking awesome sound man! but honestly the tabla is drowinging the beauty of the sitars clarity...

  • I read a lot of critiques, which is fine, but I kind of feel like people just need to enjoy the music more, have fun. Being serious all the time is a real downer. These boys look like they are having fun and are enjoying the music for what it is. That is what I like most about it.Good music and good company.

  • amazing......

i am chinese too, and now I too want to learn sitar...

  • Thanks! You guys are great fun! Keep it up!

  • you guys are awesome man.... love you man

  • awesome show man... hot damned goooood....

  • sweet!

  • Beautiful!

  • be less frantic or rushed

just let the music seep out of your hands and it will improve..

quality of the sound is more important..

once u hve that built speed will come automatically

  • i like how the little guy lets his inner punjabi out and just goes str8 for the "dha's ta tin ta ka dha tin" kerwa dugan....

  • hahahah

    totally true

  • very nice performance

  • amazing!

  • also dude ur kaida at the end wasn't really a kaida and its needs to be a little clearer but good job keeping the beat and tempo

  • i'm sorry, i don't mean to be mean or rude but the sitar sounds legit but the tabla is too frantic, its not any known taal, and its pretty unclear...just work on that dude

  • I wish my brother could play tabla while I play my sitar :(...

  • i think tabla is great but its sound is overpowering in the video

  • KushaDwipa is right, the tabla is a little frantic

  • Very talented but just a bit too frantic. Slow down so you can enjoy.

  • This is one of the best Sitar/tabla sessions I have ever seen!

  • you play better than the indians!!!

  • very nice d flat minor!

  • great play man :)... Tan Guo Jun your thit khit isn't that clear, try dha thit khit take thit khit :)... that will help you do thit khit very good ! :D....

  • daz insane

  • Como toca el chaval la tabla...!!!!!

  • there is no way these guys have been playing for 2 years!

  • I take it they r playing in khewa

  • Awesome! Thanks for the brilliant performance at The Chevrons last evening!

  • fantastic .....

  • lovely playing, both the tabla and sitar...

  • good playing and all, but this is like a godzilla movie it delays a lot

  • No way only 2 years.

  • Govin and krsna.....love you guys man...

  • Thanks to wankerface, I looked up the original to this song, "Eastern Journey" by Biddu Orchestra . I like Jun and Ming's version better. If you want to hear a clip, amazon has it. The original's too polished for my personal taste. I think the boys play from the heart. Still loving the song guys!

  • hey!! u guys sound good. can someone please tell me the name of this music piece and who composed it? the original? thanks

  • Eastern journey by biddu orchestra

  • thanks a lot!!

  • i am from venezuela, where y can get a sitaar?!?!?!!!

  • not bad or anything, but that kid plays the dhaga at the queerest angle...

  • Yeah, actually kid plays a little bit dirty. But since this music is a part of their folk, both they trim the quantise rapidly.

But I am sure they can play much better in a serious sound recording or concert something ...

  • Beatiful...keep it up.

  • from 40 to like 55 it ssounded like rock and roll..

  • saw your video on Pipa sitar & tabla....really wonderful.

  • thank you for your appreciation. love ya son of the gun. oops i mean destroyer.

  • his name is WAY cooler than yours, its funny

  • You can clearly hear me saying "ok go ahead" at the beginning of the video. Those of you out there who doubt that this is genuine wll continue to do so regardless of what ever evidence is posted or said so I am not gonna waste time on it.

  • I like it though there is a point where it's not right. At 2:17, the tabla player stops, but you can clearly hear it still going on. Then it stops. At the same though, the sitar player is on time with the sound being heard.

  • This was recorded with a digital camera and it was then transferred to the PC just as an introduction to the talents of these two brothers. After transferring it to U tube I realised that there seems to be a sync problem. But other wise it is a genuine recording of the two brothers in their home.

  • Ah, thank you. I wasn't hating or anything. Actually, it and others out here in youtubeland have inspired me enough to pick up my bayan and dayan and give it a good go. I also have a friend who's doing the same with sitar. It may not be classical Indian ragas or such, but we like it and that's the important part of music. Thanks again for giving me the guts to even try.

  • @cityhunterfan at 2:17? I watched it over a few times at that point, the only thing that happens there is the sound resonating from his last bols... which has an open sound, not a closed abbreviated one... or maybe I'm just seeing the video in sync better...

  • @nightwingxl - I do think that you are right. I watched it again. Either the stream is better, or my ability to follow his bols is better. I'm thinking the latter as I can see/hear the correlation of his playing and the song throughout the entire video. I still love this vid even years later.

  • Someone else is doin the TABLA behind the camera.. sorry to say.. lol

  • Amazing show, you guys should tour India. People will be humbled with your talent and interest.

  • u deserve my respect!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anyone that can play tabla this good has my respect. Keep at it, guys. :)

  • You can knock this too much, even though their instruments are a little out of tune, the technique is down. How many Indians can you find playing Chinese classical music on the original instruments???

  • good job guys

  • somedumbass90 i agree with im tabla player too my teacher is Pt.Anindo Chatterjee.and i play tabla allready 20 years and irealy know how tabla and sitar sounds. And both of this guys out of tune, out of tala and out of rithm.jaust horrible...Sorry guys but its true...

  • pt.g must hav wasted 20yrs of his time with u.u hav no backbone but leanin on pt.g & using him like a crutch.ikno pt.g & hav full respect 4 him.he would not go around sayin tis.he would encourage all.U r a disgrace.like an empty vessel making d most noise.u r babbling ur truth & not THE Truth.if u keep quiet nobody will kno u r dumb.Keep it up boyz. barkin dog seldom bite.

  • Everyone starts out, out of tune and out of rhythm. The point is that they're trying. If being out of tune or rhythm was a reason to stop, then there wouldn't be any music at all. Everyone's got to start somewhere. You've been playing for 20 years. I don't even think the sitar player is older than 16 or 17. Are they R. Shankar and Alla Rukha? No. Are they good enough that some people like them? Yes. I think that's what's important. Hell, some folk think Shankar sucks. Different strokes...

  • I never said they've been playing for 20 years. In fact the Tabla player has only been learning under my brother for about 2 odd years. The sitar Player, the elder of the tw has been playing for more than 4 odd years. and thats it.

  • Sorry Thirunav, my comment about "you've been playing for 20 years" wasn't directed towards you. It was directed to someone else who stated that he had ben playing for 20 years. I guess that person had felt that Jun and Ming should have been playing to that same caliber. I was only commenting that Jun and Ming weren't even 20 years so naturally they won't sound like a 20 year player. I meant no disrespect. I actually really like the song and your vid clip. cheers!

  • Great!! How many would take so much interest in learning other race's culture and instrument. Jia yow!!!

  • this is fake.

  • right, unless the sounds off for some reason in certain parts and not in others, its fake.

  • your fake!

  • meaning practicing minds.

  • dont mean to be a hater....but y r these guys chinese man...this is straight up indian music...nd y is his bayan backwards....huh???

  • So?! Music has no colour. Dick. Accept that these guys are good musicians.

  • Every damn sitar video I see on YouTube has someone in the comments complaining about how they're doing it wrong.

    Every damn one.

  • They have perfected their musical instruments! Best luck and keep up the incredible work. They are great musicians and will go far and accomplish in everything they want to do.

  • im srri 2 be a hater but this is horrible man...both the guys techniques are wrong...and b4 pplz start sayin things bout this comment...i have performed alot..i have performed on stage playin tabla 4 sitar pplz so i kno how the role goes...the main thing these pplz need 2 do is work on the clarity of their strokes . Then they mite sound better

  • keep it up boyz. you are doing it right.ppl always want to say something to put you down but most of beings are supportive. cheers

  • u guys are awesome.. ppl hu insult u dunno anyting about music at all... they jus wan to fan their own ego... u r young n learning.. practice hard.. ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!

  • Why is the tabla boys drum the wrong way?

  • good performance with ... indian instrument with chinese boys..

  • the tabla player is adorable

  • the beggining when the guy on the tabla comes in is amazing!

  • Music is universal. Chinese guys with Indian instruments. Fantastic. Keep it up

  • that really sounds good, i love the sitar

  • He says that he would like you to add lyrics in spanish to the song. Like someone singing. I don't think he understands that traditionally there is rarely no singing involved.

No se agrega letra a esta forma de musica muy a menudo. Pero seria lindo no?

  • Thanks a million, that helped. Enjoy the clip. There will be more coming your way.

  • yes we are working on a spanish song on it. more of it soon.....

  • Please hurry!

  • hola me llamo carlos y me gustaria si se puede añadir una letra a esta music. Si tiene su letra seria mejor . Porvafor en idioma castellano

  • sorry I do not understand spanish. I would reply if I understood. Translation???

  • The table boy is very good but he is holding the tabla wrong way. The base drum; the center black circle on the skin should be on the outer side, not on the inner side. But he is still very good.. Really appreciable and unique. !!! KEEP IT UP BOYS.. !

  • Chia yo!!

  • nice one i like it its not boring like others lol

  • Nice one he is Hazara

  • masood ba ba i didnt get ur point.....he is hazara? so what and i dont think they are afg........

  • Wow, very good.

  • Wonderful. You got it. Keep it up. May the Goddess Saraswathi bless you.

  • Too good

  • go china boy

  • this is awsome, i respect this guys a lot the way they play is sick, i also play tabla, i am good but this guys are just great, actually better than great words cant describe how great this guys are

  • very nice]

  • you guys are good. im 15 and am buying a tabla soon!

  • Splendid! May I know the title to this piece of music? I heard it once almost 10 years ago but didn't manage to find out the title.

  • tis piece is played by the biddhu orchestra. my dad rearrange it for sitar solo.

  • woow awesome ,, very good

  • the tabla should be thought about more but the sitar sounds pretty good

  • why do they have indian names?

  • Bec Their father is a Hare Krishna Devotee and himself plays the Sitar well.
