@jhenry1041 No. I actually haven't had any problems with it leaking, and the toilet's been in use for over 2 years now. I do however have a red Korky flapper on hand just in case a problem arises.
I actually tested the same amount of ice in each toilet and the Cadet won hands down. The Drake clogged. But that's not to say it isn't better at flushing what it's actually supposed to flush, which I won't mention here.
I know. I was saying that the Cadet 3 was better at flushing ice, but that's probably all it's better at. The Drake is more thorough and hardly ever leaves any floaties behind, unlike a Cadet 3. The Drake also has better bowl wash.
The reason for Price difference is because the Toto is much better quality than the AS. I bought this Cadet at Lowe's for $120. I bought the Drake online for a little over $200. But Toto recently went up on their prices. I was lucky to find a site that sold them so cheaply. Usually the Drake goes for around $250-$300 depending on which model it is.
thats very interesting. The lowes around my area sell Cadet 3s for like 200 and some dollars. I have yet to go to a home improvement store that sells Toto or Gerber, and Cranes are hard to find too. How in the hell do you order a toilet online?
Toto isn't sold in most retail outlets, just a select few. Google Toto and you'll find tons of sites that sell them. They'll ship it to you once you pay.
Sanders, Never ever buy a open rim toilet, They are all garbage with a universal UPC design that so many companys have copied with there bottom of the line models, All open rim toilets suck! With toilets like the cadet 3 and ect, Actual research and development went into them with the manufacturer. Open rim is just a copy of a non patentent design that anyone can make. Even $40 trailer toilets are similar.
I actually lived with a couple for several months when I moved in with my grandmother. She had a Cisa in the main bath and a Crane Atlas in the master bath. Based on my experiences with those two, I know good and well to steer clear of them. In fact I believe both of those models are discontinued.
@TheJoey1978 Not all open rim toilets are bad. My friend has lived with 3 1996 Universal Rundle Atlas toilets. I am not aware of them ever clogging.
