  • I see the delta lady is still here through people funding her.........tradbgon has gone so i reckon he must of choked on his words....good riddance, still cant stop watching the opening sequence to this video.........she looks amazing loosing altitude at speed with her airbrakes out and the mountain as a backdrop ....AWESOME.

  • Thanks you for your kind comments. Being directly involved with Avro Vulcan XH558 has given me some amazing chances to film this beautiful aircraft since her return to flight in Oct 2007. I have to say though this is still one of my all time favourites. For more info about XH558 and how you can help keep her in the air please contact me at

    Cheers Lee.

  • Good video.

  • well said 264flight if they cant say something good about this wonderful machine then dont say anything

  • Love this Historic marval i wish i could see that flying whole my life.

  • I love that backdrop of the mountains as she flies in

  • How the hell has someone managed to dislike this video? Seriously...

  • @Joeaviation1712

Someone with no taste in historic aircraft, I bet.

  • What a backdrop. Amazing!

  • That was wicked *********************

  • olympus engines i understand are the ones that powered the concordes similar but updated sooped up and of course fitted with afterburners for macht 2 cruising aircraft the afterburners on the Concordes where mainly used at takeoff andto climb above 35,000 feet and exceed macht 1 and get to the thinner air at 55,000 60,000 feet or so i beleive and then could be turned off for good flying range

  • Yes thats right all the testing work for Concordes Olympus 598 engines was done by Vulcans. The Olympus engines fitted to XH558 are the 202 series these were the mid power engines.

  • @264flight This is the perfect place to see the Vulcan because you have no view restrictions. Unlike when I went to Goodwood the other week but I got one good bit which I have stuck on here below. Was luckt to be in the right plaCE REALLY. CAn you tell me, does she have afterburners cause thats what I said in the footage cause I was carried away. Listen for my little boy shout "DAD" at 8secs. Barely here it LOL.

  • Excellent footage!!! 5 stars...

  • Show us the money! You've got 75 days to raise 630 THOUSAND. That's 6 - 3 - 0. Good luck!

  • According to the VulcantotheSky website, it needs to raise 630,000 quid in the next 75 days to remain solvent. One wonders if Lottery would have given 6 mil to VTS if Lottery had known VTS couldn't pay for operating costs, or if Lottery had known VTS would need this huge amount of annual donations just for operations.

  • Ok this is the last time i am going to comment on this!!. The facts are incorrect for a start Lottery did not give 6 Million they gave us 2.7 Million this money was given for the aircraft to be restored!!!! There was no agrement to say that we would operate the aircraft just from airshow revenue????. The cost of operations were nothing to do with the Lottery as they can not help us now the aircraft is operational. The money was allocated from the Lottery solely to restore the Aircraft.

  • If the comments continue to be inaccurate and offencive i will be forced to remove all comments!!!! Please show some respect when commenting thanks!

  • i'm gonna say this...Tradbgon YOU WANKER!!!!!!

  • @kaiserkid01 Good on you man. VULCAN LIVES FOREVER!

  • Because you promised Lottery if they gave you 6 mil that airshow fees would sustain operation costs. Dodgy. You owe Lottery an apology for misleading them. You've got to raise 630,000 pounds by 31 March. Let's see what the people really think about that, shall we? XH558 is syphoning off all donation money for other aviation causes, such as fast taxis. What kind of pot are you smoking at those XH558 committee meetings to avoid economic realities? Beautiful dreamers. VulcantotheHANGAR!

  • You really need to fucking get a life. No body cares about your gay opinion. We are a charity. We can't simply just make money like that. The money from the airshow goes into half of the money that we pay for mantinace. But VTS is having a big upgrade. Big upgrades cost a lot of money. Vulcan To the Sky. FUck you you wanker!

  • How does seeing economic reality equate to "hoping the country's history is lost forever." ? It's a beautiful aircraft. It's a marvel of engineering, decades ahead of its time. It's a triumph of British engineering. It just costs money you don't have to operate it! It WAS the people's airplane from 84-92, flown by the RAF specfically as an airshow demonstrator. Taxpayer supported. But even the RAF had to face economic facts. Want to bring back British greatness? GET RID OF SOCIALISM.

  • Why are you so worried about how much it costs!!! Your not paying for it!! If you dont like what we are doing fine but just leaveit there so those millions of poeple whom have seen her and enjoy seeing her fly can continute to do so e.g my 14 year old nephew who had never seen a Vulcan fly had only seen one in a Musuem and was totally amazed when he saw her fly!!!

  • The RAF WAS flying it in the flight demonstration mode. Look up the video where an RAF officer says in 1992, "we'd like to keep flying XH558 as a demonstrator, but it's just too expensive. Were they not right? Lottery's 6 mil on the promise airshow fees would be enough to operate it. Not! In total 10 mil with donations. And it is STILL not enough. It never will be. It drinks money. We shall see if the people care to donate 2 mil annually. I think not. VulcantotheHANGAR!

  • I just find it sad that there are poeple out there with this sort of attitude willing and hoping that this countries history is lost foever. Although she is expensive she will not need public donations forever. As a Vulcan to the sky club commimttee member we will continue to present this magnificent aircraft to the british people and keep her in the air where she blongs dispite what you may say !!.

  • Nice! But...at what cost? Is it worth TWO MILLION POUNDS ANNUALLY to fly it? Vulcan Operating Co told Lottery that airshow fees would pay all costs for sustained operations. Now, we're finding out that's not true. Sorry, guys, but TWO MILLION POUNDS ANNUALLY was never gonna come from airshow fees. A blind man couldda seen that before you started. I seem to recall the RAF retired it because, aside from being old, it was also EXPENSIVE TO OPERATE. VulcantotheHANGAR!

  • The Vulcan is a huge asset to keeping alive this countries fantasticlost engineering past and showing the young what this country was once capable of producingAs for the cost well when you look at the operational cost of the Red Arrows each year i think the Vulcan is is worth every penny of that Two Million a year to keep her flying. Beautiful to look at in the air fantastic to hear living and breathing and not stuck in some musuem like everything else great that this country had once prouduced.

  • awesome scenery, awesome aeroplane, awesome upload. Good work again. Thanks for the upload.

  • Fantastic video. Well done Lee..

  • Absolutely stunning - what a back drop, and how nice to not have a commentator over the top of the orchestra that is 4 RR Olympus!

  • Well there was a commentator our very own Richard Clarke you can just about here him in the background but we were quite a long away from the PA on our rooftop position. Cheers Lee.
