I noted you have a GNS 430. Is it WAAS? Ifnot, then how do you have the audio alert turned on. Ive had mine 9 months now and Im still scratching my head.
BTW. I have a new appreciation for Socal approach and flying Socal in general as a result of these vids. working on my Inst. Rating now, so this opens up a lot of nice places down there. We're up near Kings Canyon/ based at O32 Reedley.
Take a look at the new iPad.. I have not pulled out a paper IAP since buying my iPad. Many benefits - has wifi, so I can walk into an FBO, save the latest weather, file flight plans, etc. - and night IFR is easier since the iPad is LCD and backlit unlike the Kindle (as far as I know). BTW: Great Videos!!

Well, damn, I spend $150 for a yearly subscription to Jeppesen Airway Manual Express just last week... and then I find this video. LOL. I think the Kindle's ability to display still graphics without using any battery plus sunlight readability makes it the perfect chart bag. Maybe I will donate my Jepp subscription to some poor student.
Great video. I've been there in January. The natural hot spring and swimming pool were good. Bring some sandwiches and drinks and make a wonderful day.

@92fsoakcreek The audio alerts come from the Garmin 396

@92fsoakcreek Yes the 496 and 696 does this also.
No one has the destinations we enjoy in the SW USA.

@llenrayb The problem is I almost always fly above 10,000' which is the limit of the iPad.
