@Soulblackman That's true. I scratched my head when they guy said Malcolm wanted Ali to leave with him which is not true. Several people wanted to leave with Malcolm and he basically saved their lives by telling them to stay.

@Netertaat Yes, Malcolm received his name, but not from Elijah or the nation, and Ali was named Ali before Malcolm took the name later from one of his trips to the east. I cannot after all these years remember who or what occasioned the name but it was after he was kicked out of the NOI. Malcolm explains in his autobio why he begged for forgiveness: He did not want the NOI splintered and at war to the benefit of those (Hoover) who wanted it disrupted. His name is not an NOI name.

Actually, Malcolm X gave himself the name Malik Shabazz while he was in prison, but Elijah Muhammad told him that he was not yet worthy of a name. He was called El Hajj Malik El Shabazz after he went to Mecca. And that apology he gave to Elijah Muhammad was an apology for disobeying his instructions not to make any statement against John F. Kennedy. But Malcolm X heard that they were going to kill him, so he left and exposed Elijah for impregnating his teenage secretaries.

For one thing, the commentator in 2:42 is mislead if he's not willingly telling a lie. Malcolm had the name "Shabazz" long before Muhammad Ali got his name. In fact, his entire commentary is false.

@Originalman320 In fact, it was MALIK Shabazz. This is what happens when whites and Uncle Toms r allowed to tell the "story". According to the Autobiography, Malcolm recommended to Ali, to stay in the NOI. Also, there's NO proof Malcolm wanted Minister Louis to leave with him. And THIS Tom is a supposed Malcolm X researcher.

@Originalman320 Good Brother, I thought Malcolm said in his autobiography that he received his name from one of his visits in the east by a Sunni Official, and that it took place after his break with the NOI, and after Ali received his from Elijah. @MrPerryrice Malcolm never said that in his autobiography, or anywhere else. In fact, in the book "End of White World Supremacy", Bro. Benjamin Karim noted in his forward in 1962 that Malcolm had on his briefcase "Malik Shabazz".

@Originalman320 Your comment sent me on a quick search, and I just googled Malcolm and found a bibligraphy that cites Malcolm as having received a passport in the name of Malcolm little aka Malik Shabazz in the year 1959. So, it appears that he was at least also known as Malik Shabazz in 59, but, had he taken the name yet? I'm going to search more, but until I find out differently, let me say now that I may be wrong because it appears that you are probably right. Til I find out for sure..Peace.

Good doc.. I disagree with some point tho, and especialy with the guy who speaks at 7:10, I meen he throws in accusations in wich have never been proven, it was never proven that sonny was a drug addict or if he was found dead with a needle in his arm, police never found any drugs attributes at the crime scene, and he was known to be affraid of needles.. My guess is that the mob had something to do with his death.. And one other thing.. in The second ali-clay fight Liston went in for the money
