  • such a slow serve and close to the net, I would just flick that so wide

  • @atomdragon4 i'm sure you would deucebag, i'm sure you would...

  • Comment removed

  • love the serve but hated the name... seriously .. names like ghost serve , dragon slayer serve , mighty warrior of the queen serve and phantom lone wolf of the deadly mountains serve are such childish names that ruin the serve and the talent you have put into practising this cool serve... how about calling it backspin serve?

  • @IBlackOpI because backspin serves dont come back towards the net. ghost serve isn't such a silly name...

  • @IBlackOpI its name is really ghost serve, commonly used. He didn't invent it

  • very easy every average or higher skilled player should be able to do this

  • 跟馬琳差太多了= =

  • @jasonhung80

    Wo cao ni ma

  • just backspin nothing your opponent would be scared about

  • @TheKarub1 yup just give it a little push rright after the bounce and you have a difficult short backspin return

  • this isnt hard

  • Don't you have to toss the ball straight up in the air for a legal serve? That ball is arcing like a rainbow.

  • @k0nidias

yup toss straight up with a flat opened hand or else its a lost point

  • I can do a serve where i put so much spin on it bounces on my side, bounces on their side, and then back onto mine again. Should I upload it and get 100,00s views?

  • IS THAT LEGAL?

  • @andrewloveandrew Yes. Even if the ball touches the table one time on other side of the net and then return over the net and touches your side of the table is legal and the point is yours.

  • @andrewloveandrew If it's 18 and willing.

  • Oh, I didn't know that either. If we see that the surve is "off sides" we always use to "let it go" to get the point without doing any effort. I have always thought that is a bit cowardly. I know you dont have to surve diagonal though :)

  • Very nice

  • i can do that whit my right hand ps im playing whit my right hand lol

  • easy

  • All of ghosts are friction :P

  • it is easy !! if you practise table tennis you can it with any difficulty !! =)

  • Is the serve legal if the ball bumps twice on the opponent's side? please let me know.

  • @laaarsn it only has to bounce once on each side it is up to the defending player to return ball b4 second bounce or he will obviously loose the point

  • @karubottlefingers So if the opponent lets the ball bounce twice, then he will win the point because of illegal surve? Or loose the point because he didn't take the ball?

  • @laaarsn yes it only has to bounce once, it is up to the other player to teturn it before it bounces the second time, otherwise the ball is dead and point goes to the server.

  • @karubottlefingers thanks :)

  • @laaarsn The ball can bounce as many times on the other side, it is still a legal serve.

  • @stefanarak Ok, my opponents were using that against me, but thanks for letting me know :)

  • @laaarsn Yeah, for some reason it is a common thing which people think, but it's just not true. Also the ball can go 'off the sides' of the table once it has bounced once on each side... and you do not have to serve it from the right to left in singles. People play by some strange rules!

  • @RandomStuffLookAts Oh, Thanks so it's legal.

  • whered you learn this serve nice vid!!!!!!!!!!!

  • :-D this serve is so easy....

omg i play tabletennis too and its one of the first serves you learn ...

  • Thats easy mate

  • IS it Okay If My Ma Lin Ghost Serve Returns Directly to My Table?

I mean, it ONly Bounces 1 time on my opponents table.

  • ghost serve?

  • Anyone can do that? I think not, shooting the ball then bouncing it back without falling off table? thats god damn awesome, keep it up man!

  • LOL

  • anyone could do that serve

  • you suck

  • nice serve, but will only work once in a match, id like to see it against someone to see how it reacts when the opponent responds.

  • ma lin can do 1000x

  • good. making a higher throw would be better too.

  • Nice, very good.

  • @davidkeet99

That means that u have a trainer that is not bad...

  • I dought that. It takes some decent practice to be able to do that.

  • wooow..!

  • it always hits the other side of the table or else it would be table volleyball

  • no it has to hit your side of the table on a serve then theirs.

  • spins not impressive

  • Juses so much shit..asia is going to dominate other contenents forever...

  • i like this serve, i usually practice this daily and yes, i can fool anybody :)

  • lolol nice

  • what did u say about chinese people? fucker. Do u know how it feels when u call somebody that? U fucked up nigger son of a bitch

  • haha RETARD

  • Congratulations, you have just successfully put yourself in the same racist category as them. You can't hate racism and be racist at the same time. Go figure...

  • Congratulations, you have no mom.

  • Good joke, really clever punchline.

  • @sinoflord are you retarded?

Oh wait we all know the answer.

  • @sinoflord, OMG!!!! IVE REALLY NEVER HEARD THAT ONE BEFORE!!! dumb piece of tutti.........

  • 俺のほうがかかる

  • lol

theres always people here that says they can do better

but like only like 5 percent can actually do that

  • its ok but more spin takes the mistakes away :)

  • malins has i think a bit more spin

add a bit more spin or hit it low and short so its even harder to hit

  • Well the basic trick to this kind of serve is hiding the ball so the opponent doesn't know which way it'll go. But of course that same amount of people are able to see through it as well. It's made for a quick wrist-flick motion and execution. If you can fool yourself with it, you can fool anybody :]

  • i dont get it whys it called ghost

  • He put a ton of backspin on it. Even without another player on the other side, he was able to make the ball "return" itself to the net. So it's like an invisible person or ghost tried to hit back his serve.

  • @jaraha no kiddig thats why its called o ghost serve:):):)

  • it was too high and not spinning enough,

    can be pushed very easily

  • easy!!!

  • that is cool,i love ma lin's serve. I've learnt it but i can't do it as good

  • not really good...can make better...

  • lol thats like spinning buy powerful teach me!!

  • pretty sweet how u do it?

  • u have to slide very powerful and carefully under the ball

  • Damn, I could finish much better back 10years ago...

  • Its too long, you can counter it with a drive, provided you get the timing right. Not really that much of backspin, can smash it if youre using long pimples.

  • not realy a good serve!!

  • thats not a "ghost" serve, isnt the purpose of a ghost serve is to hide what type of spin is on the ball? no offense but its odvious you have backspin on it

  • amazing!!!!

    how do u do it?

  • O_o

  • wow a back spin... i mean ho can't do that

  • i thought u werent allowed to toss the ball backwards on a serve...

  • I am pretty sure you aren't haha :P

  • idk i cant see it. but if you dont i dont see how pros can blockt he ball with their body when they serve

  • its good

except its a bit high so people will flick it

  • and it will hit the net because of the backspin

  • That's what the backspin is for.

  • its jsut alot of spin its not hard

  • really?

    i find it pretty hard

  • it's much harder than it looks

  • a completely horizontal push? lol

  • nope, it's actually slanting towards your side

the opposite side is in an upwards pivot

    135 degrees from horizontal

  • wow nice

  • what a noob

  • hey stop talk yourself

  • talking*

  • talking about**

  • yeah my bad

  • lol r u guys serious? that is very. very. very easy. for those that aren't too good on spinning the ball. get urself a slower rubber, with more spin and control, less speed. brush the ball with the edge of your rubber, and when u brush the ball, snap the shit out of your wrist. make sure u make contact lower than usual... and before the white line of course.

  • isnt that a illegal serve?

doesnt the serve have to go across diagonally?

  • baotran16

    Only in ping pong

  • i get what ur sayting and its pretty funnny

  • only in doubles, in singles you can serve anywhere on the table

  • no u can serve where ever u want criss was being sarcastic

  • It's a nice serve

Im going to work on that serve :)

Wish me goodluck, im gonne need it xD

  • how the hell did he spin the ball so hard?

  • if you slice the ball horizontal to the table or upwards, then it can generate that much spin.

  • k its easy just throw the ball at least 30 to 50 cm hit the ball in last second (wait for it to get low )becouse the longer you take the more spin and it has to do with timing and a flexiable wrist

  • eh its a pull back nothing gr8..

  • This isn't the ITTI in Richmond, BC is it?

  • what the omg can i learn from u ?

  • Please take your shirt off like Ma Lin in the Ghost serve video LOOL

  • biggest bullshit ever-.-^^

everybody who plays tt can do this stupid serve

  • maybe u r the one that bullshit

  • sry im taking to fckinho

  • maybe u r the one that bullshit

  • i have a target paddle

    i can do this serve...

  • 魔鬼发球= "ghost" serve.

the name fits the serve, lol.

  • i can get the ball to spin back only slightly and i need to know how to make it come back like that video my bat is

    speed: 70/100

    spin: 80/100

    control: 90/100

    ?

  • This serve is actually not too hard to do, but it is slightly different than the normal backspin serve you would do. In a normal backspin serve, you'll blade will swing on a downward angle, but for this serve, at the moment of contact, you want the blade to be swinging slightly upward. This will usually result in a very high serve at first, but practice it a bit, and you should be able to keep the serve fairly low. hope that helps.

  • yea ill work on it, my b day was 2 days ago and my dad got me a table tennis table so ill be able to practice a whole lot more,

if u could make another video of u doing the serve like 5-10 times and show it in slow motion at different angles, that would be great but i think im asking to much of u, well thanks anyway xD

  • we'll see, maybe when I'm rally bored I'll make a tutorial.

  • thanks xD

  • wow..coooooooool......

  • i've been able to increase my spin but i can't get the ball to roll/come backwards. I'm thinking it is my rubber(Inverted surface

    Speed: 50 (out of 100)

    Spin: 35 (out of 100)

Control: 100 (out of 100) ) IT is a premade Butterfly Derek May Table Tennis Racket

  • Ya...if the spin is only rated 35/100, then this serve is probably impossible to do....

  • if the racket is premade theres little u can really do with it. if u want maximum spin you should get the parts seperate(rubber, and the blade) this way its top quality, and premade rackets are left on the shelf, while self assembled is fresh and a lot better

  • i just ordered some rubber and a blade; I'll let you know how it turns out and what's the difference. THanx!!!

  • There's nothing special about my equipment, and this serve is not as hard as it looks. (although Ma Lin does it much much better). Anyways, I have the double happiness G888 rubber, which is a fairly sticky rubber, and there is nothing special about my blade. Just practice hard, and you can have this serve too :P

  • what rubber and blade do you use?

  • lol are you using long pimples? because that took a lot of spin without even moving the blade LOL

  • Nope, I use inverted rubber, the rubber is very sticky which definitely helps with the spin.

  • oh alright thank you for the reply :) take care! keep playing

  • what rubber and blade do you use?

  • very very very very very LOW haha

  • I cannot understand what I say before the "Woow.. Sam is so good"! Can you?

  • no, I can't figure it out either.

  • I think he says hey that's Malin's serve then wow sam's so good

  • think we all lost a purpose on what a ghost serve is.

from what i know, a ghost serve is when the ball seems like it's going to hit the net, but then jumps right over. from my perspective, ma lin is performing a standard backspin serve wit added motion in the end to show like he's doing a side or topspin serve.

this video is showing a backspin serve.

tip: practice on a serve that will work against someone in a real match. if you attempt a backpspin serve close to the net, the other will smash

  • I don't really use it in competition, this was just for fun. But ya, I do try to keep it low, but it's hard.

  • keep it lower
