  • would it run on a x86_64?

  • @maKALLEchine yup

  • @sneekylinux nice, i'll maybe try it later then :)

  • What audio manager did madbox use?

  • out of sync...

  • @stalingbg ta

  • Just downloaded it and tried it, i love it! Really shows me what openbox can do in the right hands, its awesome

  • Madbox uses ADeskbar. instead of the gnome panel It is quite customizable and does not need composting. It`s a menu bar and task bar all in one. Available as a deb. I think it`s in the Ubuntu repos too. Cheers.

  • Hey sneeky whats your opinion about open suse ??

im just asking cause i installed it on my virtualbox and its was awesome because it had guest additions preinstalled ! how amazing is that i think its the only distro that has that

  • @JewBoy331 i do like suse,or want to sometimes, but it lets me down on a few things on low end pc's,as for working in the box, there are a lot of other distros that come with it also,...e.g pclinuxos

  • Sneeky when i was working on the TLOS project a few months back, the basic GNOME install was using around 85/90MB RAM idle, so not too bad! Great review, might try this one out

  • @lindsaymobil22 basic gnome can be small mate, its only when you start fitting it's clothes it gets bigger

  • Looks great!

  • Excellent one, sneeky. Looks very good :)

  • This looks very well done.. looks like they are still using Gnome-panel up the top, more or less on it's own or something? I cant work out what it could be otherwise besides maybe a very tweaked lxpanel.

  • @ElderSnake90 It's lxpanel. Looks smooth.

  • @KneeToTheDome Its Adeskbar actually

  • Amazing OS and awesome review as usual

  • ahh madbox i remember someone (apparently the creator) promoting this on the crunchbang forums some time ago

  • cool.

  • Hi neil. What the minimum ram this uses as i was planning on using it on a old system.

  • @liverpoolatnight whatever you have :D (Or at least 2Gbs...or less???) puppy linux?

  • @liverpoolatnight he said 88 MB ... which is pretty much fast

  • @liverpoolatnight you could prob get away with an 800 duron and 256,but have not tried it with them specs, but as it is open box it should be alright

  • @liverpoolatnight ok i have just re-checked ,you can get away with 160mb ram without doing a text based install, but as the new buntu kernel does not support the old cpu's(via,k6 etc)you will have to suck it and see

  • @sneekylinux Thanks :-)

  • new to me thanks
